I still don't understand why Bush thinks that handcounts should be done in Texas elections, according to the law he put into effect himself, but that the same handcounts he thinks are so important are shameful when it could have a negative result for him. THAT'S a sore loser.

Desperado
Why don't you come to your senses

I think it's because they don't use those "chad" ballots in Texas.

The more they are handled manually, run through machines and rattled around, the more the "vote" is apt to change. And instead of being more clear as to voter intent, it may become less obvious.

Does anyone have a link to a map like the one srt. Mike put up but by state instead of county...one that says how many electoral votes every state has?

Just if you come across one mind you.

You think it's that? Or could it be that it never occurred to him that his feelings on the matter in Texas could cost him the election when applied in Florida?

spelling.... bah.

Exactly my point, James. Thank you!

Bush is FOR handcounts, then he's against handcounts.
He's up all night on cocaine, then he's for the war on drugs.
He's jailed for drunk driving, then he's the pillar of morality and for restoring honor and dignity to the nation.
He learned a lot from Daddy who declared loud as can be "Read my lips: No new taxes"... of course, that was just to get elected and one of the first things he did when he DID get elected was raise taxes.
Duh.

Well. It's one of those things I "heard" on the biased, unreliable television news. And I never heard it unrefuted.

It puzzles me why some people object to the only means of information available. I have radio, TV, internet and people I know. Without these sources I simply live with the preconceived notions already in my head. I don't believe everything I hear, but I try to be true to myself by learning as much as possible before I make a decision. And am also open to changing that decision. Little of what I know is written in stone.

I'm not going to defend the morality of Mr. Bush. It's pretty much all I can do to keep myself out of trouble. And thank God there's not a camera and reporter following me around to mark my mistakes for prosperity.

But the things you list are some of the things everyone should take into account when making their personal choices.

You seem to think I support Mr. Bush because I offered a possible reason of his objection to hand counts . . . In all honesty, I really don't care much for him personally.

Oh no biff, I wasn't commenting to you. I'm sorry if it sounded that way. Actually I thought that was interesting that they don't have chad ballots in Texas...I didn't know that. My commentary wasn't directed at you. No worries.

edited to add we could have a new 'reality' show called "Survivor: The Presidential Election" ...but then again, we almost do have that show 24/7 now, lol

Maybe we could get lucky and they would both end up stranded on the island. Anyone care to vote for Gilligan? Oh wait... I think we already have.

Maybe we'll all wake up soon and find this has all been a dream... like Dallas...
