Geez, what a wacko!
Ok, first, open up another email account at some free site like I mentioned earlier. And use it to email the bidders or past bidders. Use a free internet site if you can (e.g. Juno/Netzero).
Second, maybe you should get one of those answering machines that let you record calls. In case he calls again and threatens you, the recordings are great proof to corroborate your end of the story.

Report that phone call to the police. Report every single call you receive from him. If you (or he) live in California, that would fall under 653M of the Calif Penal Code. If it escalates, your Police Department will be able to provide you with a legal recording device. Don't try to handle this jerk by yourself. Also, any recording you do on your own may be illegal in some states and could get you into trouble. Let the pro's handle this guy.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Oh my gosh, redskin...I was too swamped at home to check this board yesterday. I can't believe he did that! I'm so sorry, that has to be so frightening!
I am just so sick to my stomach that ebay will do nothing about this guy. I swear I will NEVER bid on another thing again if this is how much they care about the people that make them a ton of money. This guy has so abviously broken so many rules it isn't even funny.
That phone call is so abviously contact info abuse. I sent you an email...let me know if you don't get it.

Just make sure you keep your correspondence with him.
I would call the police. That sounds like a threat to me.

This guy is up to 103 negs, 30 neutrals and ebay is allowing him to continue in spite of all the complaints of the victims writing safe harbor. What does it take for a crook to get kicked off??
I finally heard back from safe harbor from where I emailed them about what he shipped me and the threatening phone call. They sent me a form letter calling it a "communication problem" and encouraged me to "work it out" with this guy.
So much for them.

tigress/redskin:
Put a Block on that phone number Now!!
The info on how to do it should be in your phone book, if not, call your telephone company and ask. It is free and will avoid you having to hear from this wacko again.
I hope you are well ~ you seem to be handling things Great!
A word of advice, if you have a "ME" page, take out any personal info you have on it. Mine is still "personal", just without the info a wacko can get hold of!
Please keep us updated!

You step forward and try to help when you see a fraud taking place and all it results in is grief coming into your life. That discouraging to say the least.
And yet if we don't speak up then what happens to our place of doing business?
I was at our local County Fair this weekend and the USPS had a booth to provide information to the public about frauds.
I spent some time with a gentleman who is with the US Postal Inspection Service which is the law enforcement arm of the Post Office.
After a generalized conversation we went to a computer terminal and I pulled up this thread.
He promised to follow up within his departments structure and I'm hoping it will result in someone from his office joining us here with some constructive suggestions.
I just got off the phone asking him to look into this thread again for the recent postings about the threats.
They have limitations as to what are their areas of enforcement. He Knew the names of eBay personal and was aware of the feedback process. I also personally believe they care. But the system is fragmented, the response time is slow and co-ordination is a problem.
I also sensed a frustration that even when they build a case and take a person to court the penalties applied by Judges are minor.
The system is broken and is just not working in a way that responds to the needs of what is actually taking place in the market.
Reminds me of what has happened locally with drug dealing. The pushers know the system is weak and that they can continue with criminal activities and only risk minor consquences and financial expense even when caught.
In times past Uncle Griff and his posse where available at eBay to help but the new management has ended that and we're left on our own.
I can't suggest anyone put themselves at risk, the law enforcement structure has not caught up with the problem and yet can we just turn our backs and walk away?
I have no idea what the answer is. Maybe we have to just keep asking for help until it arrives. Make one call in your local area and ask law enforcement what we should do? Among the answers will be more help. Time can offer the hope of progress and in the meanwhile we just hold on.
Some day there might be a 911 type number where we can get response to online problems like what we experience in our communities. Until then just hang together and do our best.
Where is the Lone Ranger when we need him?

Tiggress: "Communication problem?" OMG! Maybe if you & Redskin can get a bunch of the bidders on his auctions to bombard safeharbor with emails complaining that will get them to take notice.
So sorry to hear this guy is doing stuff like this to you! I hope something will be done soon!
(edited cuz I guess I can't spell this morning!)

lmao
sharkbaby, I am redskinfan. I changed my user id
safe harbor is already getting bombarded with emails about this guy (over 100 ebayers on this one guy at the least) and they still refuse to do anything, citing it as a simple "communication problem".
I have zero confidence in ebay right now.

Hello,
What type of items is this person selling?
We have reported people for selling home recorded movies on ebay. However, most of the time ebay will do nothing.
Why do we do this? Have you ever paid $50 or $100 for a "rare" out of print movie only to find a poorly recorded copy or something taped off of AMC (complete with AMC logo). I have learned that a tip off is usually "clear case, no art" or "you can't get this any place, but here" or "bought at a convention, sold only collector to collector". EBAY DOES NOT CARE. SOMEONE NEEDS TO WHACK THAT VENUE WITH A COPYRIGHT SUIT THAT WON'T QUIT!

Bump
I had a call this morning from a Postal Inspector who was following up on an earlier conversation I had started with his office.
I'm bring this to the top so he can visit the thread, see the nature of the problem we are encountering and offer suggestions.
One thing that surprised him was the limitations eBay imposes on our contacting victims while the auctions are in progress.
He has to work within the existing system but, hopefully, can offer some help and , maybe , working together we can bring some productive changes to the process.
