Thanks, Dottie! I agree and have passed on that same information. Although I can certainly live without it, it was a convenience. I am one of those dinosaurs who writes my own EOA emails to the customer and appreciate having that info conveniently provided in the same venue (OE) that I'm using to send the emails.

I never use the notices. I delete them as soon as they come in. I never depend on ebay to keep up with my auctions. I have my on system to do that . It has worked great for over 2 years and changes never affect me.

manyirons: I never use the EOAs either... but that doesn't mean other sellers don't use them or that changes to the EOAs shouldn't be monitored.

Besides, just because I don't depend on the EOAs, doesn't mean that my winning bidders (my customers) disregard the EOAs either... and what eBay delivers to MY CUSTOMERS does concern me.

Know what I mean? *smile*

996 customers and no complaints. I think I want worry about it. But don't get me wrong. I sure don't mind if someone else wants to

Hi Dottie...

Yes, indeed. I don't use the EOAs either, but I get many newbie buyers. I sure don't want them thinking I take Billpoint, and then getting mad when they find I don't. I'll bet newbies read all that stuff and take it to heart...I did when I started.

Also, I DID mention yesterday that the description text in EOAs is important for many sellers. There was some agreement to that statement, and I'm hoping the reason for removing description text in the EOAs will get examined... and the PTB will reconsider the importance of including that pertinent information within the body of successful listing EOAs.

thanks, dottie

anything that makes more steps for me is baaad, and this is a silly change. even for the buyers i think it's useful having the text in there.

got a reply from ebay. hrumph.

Thank you for writing about the recent changes to our End of Auction notices. Many members voiced the desire to have cleaner, easier to read email notices from eBay.

i must be getting cynical. the new ones look to me more sparse because they're all the better to have their bin (or whatever's coming up next) stand out. i don't think the motivation is to help the 'many members who ...'.

The changes you see represent the first of several enhancements that will occur during the upcoming weeks.

oh goodie. i can hardly wait
