I run Windows 98SE and with IE, OE, Auctiva Manager, Auctiva Poster, PhotoDeluxe HE, Pagoo, MediaPlayer, and AdSubtract running at the same time, I have NEVER had a crash due to low system resources. However, I do practice good computer hygeine. WWW.SmartComputing.com is a great non-technical place to learn how to whip your Windows PC into shape and there is a good free newsletter that you can subscribe to at WWW.Langa.com that is a bit geekyer.

Thanks for the link Iowa. I have never had a crash for low resources either--at least I have never had notice that that happened- but have had it lock up on me. I have a schedule for scanning, defragging and I keep my cache clean. I keep the system tray minimal and this is not new stuff to me. If there is more I need to do I am sure the website will tell me.

Hi there- toke!
I'm glad the link helped out. It's from a PC site I check out occasionally which has a message board with lots of interesting stuff. ( That's personal computer, not politically correct, by the way. )
I don't actually remember all that stuff myself, but I do remember that I read about it somewhere, and sometimes, I can even find the site again.

Auctiva is back up and running on my system. The solution came from Auctiva's discussion boards. It takes some hunting...it would be nice if an icon would be put on discussions that Support has responded to.
I do like the system they have but I have also set up Mister Lister to cover any future down times.
