I bought a case of Billy Beer in 1977 -- opened it last night & found a picture of Jenna Bush! What should I do?

Alaska treasures waiting to be found

A safe deposit box in Juneau is said to contain a number of rare national currency $10 notes from that city, put away long ago by a mine owner in the district.

capotasto: I don't mean to intrude, but what did you do with the $20 bills? What consisted of the lot?? Some $20 are worth big bucks, even if their in bad condition.

As for the Blackmail items, here's my "ethical" reasoning:

Find the heirs of the people mentioned in the documents and just give it to them. Say you found them in an old safe, and let them decide what to do with the junk. And make sure they sign documents (prepared by a Lawyer of Course) saying they won't go after you for turning over this "incriminating" edvidence.

At least be respectful to the people in the photo's and such. God knows if they suffered at the hands of this blackmailer.

Stick it all back in your time machine since she wasn't even a preborn infant in 1977.

All along I was just thinking that maybe these were compromising sex pics or something and now when I come back to this people are talking about murder.

This just gets better and better. Where is misscandle? Is she writing like crazy?

Is there a secret compartment in this safe also? Maybe the true treasures are still inside.

Good find, Vinnie!

Kiara: MissCandle is in the house, babe.

Working on the script outline and talking to J Lo's people about getting her to play the role of Eventer. Sunglass fitting at 2 p.m. Let's do lunch real soon. Where did I put Ben Affleck's number?

LOL.

Hate to throw cold water (figuratively speaking, of course) on your Hollywood dreams, but they done dooed the movie already including a sequel!

"Pee-Wee's Big Adventure at the Cinema"
and sequel...
"Pee-Wee Buys A VCR"

I'm pretty sure that Tim Burton avoided these two after his previous success with Mr Ruebens!

Okay, well, back to taking pictures and writing descriptions....sigh.

I'm starting to think troll too. Seems like the original poster just wanted to stir everyone up with this story.

I noticed he hasn't been back.

MissCandle ~

I'm sorry, Ben Affleck is "temporarily unavailable" ~ in a detox hospital

He would certainly be worth the wait, however. He won't be long ~ AJ from the Backstreet Boys will only be in a total of 30 days ~ and he looks far more like he is into "recreation" than Ben is

I certainly hope this is not a troll post - this is too interesting! I really would like to know what the people are doing in the pictures.

Why can't I get the vision of Ben Stein playing the originator of this thread out of my head?

I see him walking around saying, "Who's going to open the bid for these fine minty, antiquey photographs? Anyone? Anyone?"

Gotta run..kissy, kissy.

The big buck way to profit from the pics is to hope the current generation is willing to pay bug bucks to keep Grandpa from being exposed still today.
Of course someone may buy your safe at an estate auction and open it in 2067 to find - you.

Sounds like a John Grisham novel to me.

"Blackmailer reappears after 70 years. 95 year old man receives letter and pictures, hires hit man to end torment for good."

Nice start for a Stephen King.

Man buys old safe at auction. It sits quietly in his basement for 10 years. Then it awakens and opens to review "racy" photographs and papers from the past. Slowly sucks everyone who sees them back into this warped past.

Other than the usual decomposition of the original thread, I am a little shocked that most everyone thinks its even moral to resell these photographs. These images caused a lot of pain and suffering for people in a period of history when outer appearance was everything and money was scarce. They paid this peeping Tom to keep quiet! It is even possible that some of the victims are still alive. Certainly possible that their children would be alive and likely that the people could be recognized.
Either burn everything or turn it over to the FBI. Yes its a good storyline for a writer, but they don't need the evidence to now go off and write a screenplay based on the idea. I was recently approached by a consignor to see if I would sell the train tags that jews were given for their trip to concentration camps (they were "rescued" from the offices of Bergen Belsen by a soldier who was the consignors uncle). The thought that they considered profiting from such a disgusting artifact shocked me... I suggested she donate them to a holocaust museum. It may not be as disgusting to profit monetarily from photographs that were used to blackmail people for nearly 2 decades, but its still immoral!

I think the majority of people here are interested in the story line, not the actual people involved. To me it is a rare and fascinating insight to how this part of life was in the 1920's.

I applaud your choice with the train tags. The halocaust was a horrible, evil event. May their souls rest in peace.

I don't believe this story.

The cop-out when it came to describing the photos ( "AW won't let me" ) doesn't ring true.

Nah! It belonged to the Walkers...or was it the Bush's? Nah! Definetly the Walkers! Although it may have been the Herbert Walker Bush's! Then it may have belonged to Mr. "Family Values - Although I have THREE Girlfriends" Livingston? Or maybe Newt "Let's Play with the Mistress while the Wifey Dies of Cancer" Gingrich? Nah! I still say the WalkerHerbertMolly Bush's!

MrsSantaClause;
I know, there is a little piece of me that wants to see the pics and read the letters too, but to make money off it is the issue...
I suppose it could be one of those things that gets put away in a vault for 100 years so by the time they are made public nobody directly or indirectly involved would care.
....Of course the truly bizarre thing about the train tags is that you could sell them on ebay - there were no swastikas on them!

Hmmmm, if they were my ancestors I would be interested in knowing that they were not the pious religious fanatics they told me they were. Would really liven up a lot of them for me. So, I would not regard this as necessarily a bad discovery for descendents. This is a fascinating thread.

Yes,this is a fascinating thread.
Though the original poster does seem
to have disappeared.
Have we been hoaxed?
Or was he kidnapped by Geraldo, Micheal
Ovitz, or Gary Conlin?
Did we scare him into silence?
Bravo to Fonthill. I agree with your
comments and admire your integrity.
I.

No, I think the original poster went back to get something from his safe and accidentally locked himself in it....

Oh, well, maybe in ten years, someone will buy it at auction and open it up....
You bring the balls and I'll bring the bat!!
