Good evening everyone!
LowestBids is donating a PlayStation2!!! I asked on the message board: "How do ya win one of these PlayStation2's?"...wanted to auction it off for our homeless shelters. And......
The CEO answered and said he'd host an auction first of March and donate a PlayStation2............all proceeds to go to our homeless shelters!!!
I am soooo excited...had to share this great news or bust. LOL We donate on a rotation basis each month. The rotation list is made up of shelters recommended by customers and/or visitors. This should raise alot of money to help those shelters that are always in desperate need of assistance.
Just another reason for Nanabee's to call LowestBids our new HOME.
Thanks for letting me share!!
<<HUGE GRIN>>
Wendy

nanabees:
If you send me the name of the organization, I will donate double the cost of a PlayStation2 to them, and you will not even have to advertise my business like this
You are new here, so you may not be aware of the unethical, and immoral actions of the CEO of lowestbids, but most everyone else here has been witness to his erratic, juvenile and totally unprofessional behavior.
He was exposed many times posing under so many different user IDs here, that count has been lost. In fact, he was exposed yet again just today.
He is BANNED from this site, but it is the only way he can try and drum up some business, by posting bogus "hurrahs" for his amature little site.
The owner of AW has continually banished him, and he returns again, and again, and again under alias user names, and causes total disruption of this site.
I assure you that he will be back within hours as yet another fraudulant "happy lowestbids user".
If you want to deal with a person that does not pay his bills, and acts in this manner, then good luck to you.
As for most of the rest of us, we would just as soon se the lowestbids name Banned from AW completely.
The CEO even went so far as to register under MY name, and commit identy fraud of me on another auction board site, pretending to be me!
So don't view me as just disliking his site, I despise and deplore the person who owns the site, and everything he represents as well.
edited to add:
These are FACTUAL STATEMENTS about a COMPANY and it's OWNER, and absolutely NOT about any AW posters.
Just to clarify so as not to be misinterpreted.

Hi Pocono,
I am truly happy that our shelters will receive much-needed funds.
If you would like to donate, the following shelter is next in line:
Athens Area Homeless Shelter, Inc.
620 Barber St
Athens GA
(706)354-0423
Thank you for not aiming your opinions at AW posters. I know, as do most all of AW members, that you do not care for the CEO of LowestBids. My posting of this thread was genuine...not aimed at upsetting you or anyone here at AW. I am truly grateful every time I can help out with our homeless donations.
Please do not be offended...as this is only my opinion....but how can a user sign up at another site and choose a name that is available, and be guilty of identity fraud??? I do not think that is possible. I do not have nanabees as my user ID at...say...xyz.com, you sign up and get that name. You did not at that point, steal my identity. If the name is available, it is available. And I do not believe it is possible to track an IP on any site, UNLESS you are authorized to do so. That is usually reserved for management of that particular site. So you may suspect...and you may even be right, I have no clue, but you also could possibly(I stress the possibly) be incorrect. And to know about an unpaid bill.....wouldn't you need to be an employee of AW to have that info? I am just wondering.
Please believe me Pocono...I really would rather consider you a friend, who allows me to have associations that maybe you do not care for. We all need friends......

I beleive the users here have already concluded that they want no part of that site, or it's CEO.
That COMPANY and it's CEO have been proven to be dishonest, scamming, fraudulant, and sneaky many times on this very site.
I certainly beleive the owner of AW over the CEO of slowestbids.
Also, you may not know this, but posting any type of "message" or "email" from a BANNED former AW member is a direct violation of the AW TOS/CGs.
Doing so completely blindsides and circumvents the purpose of their bannishment, and I am sure that the moderators will delete that post, as that has been the protocol in the past for such violations.

I believe in following the rules.......I sure hope I have not inadvertantly broken them. I think I should be able to report my findings just as others feel they have the right to report their opinions and findings. I stated before on many occasions....I check out the sites that I associate with, as I hope everyone else does also.
I apologize if I have goofed here...is there a place where I can check who has been "banished" from this site? So I do not mess up again?

Hi Nanasbees - good to see you again. Perhaps I can shed some light on an uncomfortable situation.
In one of your posts in the now locked thread about Lowestbids, you said "Happily, I accepted their offer" with no further comment about what that offer entailed.
When the Bidbay discussions (about the AW templates) were occurring on this board and a different chat site, another Bidbay user that seemed to know you said that you had emailed her and that she was very sure you had accepted a position with Bidbay or one of Bidbay's competitors.
Perhaps this is all simply due to a matter of miscommunication. Heck, when the new moderator was announced by AW, (after you said you got an offer that was too good to turn down), I thought maybe you had accepted a job as an AW Moderator. LOL
I really don't know nuttin' about nuttin', just rambling as I usually do.

Hya Jada!
Sorry about the confusion.....their offer was regarding Nanabee's listing at their auction site. Not a paying job.
I can certainly see where that may have been suspected.....again, I am very sorry about any confusion.
I am most likely not the only seller who received the offer. It just came at the right time...and allows us to spend less to advertise, so we've got more to donate.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention so I could clear that up.

Pocono,
Wish I'd known that earlier...I got it through easyspace...for 2 years...don't remember now, exactly what it cost...but it sure wasn't $7.95 Had it transferred over to freeyellow and so far...yes it's free and easy to use too.
I'm no expert on websites tho...as you can tell by my site. LOL But it serves the purpose of saving on expenses, so we're able to donate more. Wish my cable connection was free. LOL
Jada,
Yep....I'm an insomniac too! Glad to meet ya! It's after 3:30 am here, Greer, SC. I'll be off to bed shortly.

Hi Wendy
I'm really happy that you found a nice place to call home and that you're once again receiving donations for your worthy cause.
I also misunderstood your message that said
"Happily, I accepted their offer" without details.
Are you saying you received an offer to join through e-mail? To most people that constitutes spam and when and if they do go to check it out, they're not usually thinking of it as a personal offer. I know some site's members send out letters of invitations. I've received 4 from another site that recently took off. I checked it out, but didn't join.
Your statement made it seem as if they were offering you something other than just listing "privileges."
However, thanks for clearing it up. I wish you continued success in your sales.

Here are my two cents for what it's worth. There have been many concerns lately about charitible auctions. where the procceds, you would think, all go to the worthy charity listed. I saw this on the news recently that only a percentage of this money collected is actually going to the charity itself. Something to be concerned about. If I were you, I would ask LowestBids how much of the auction proceeds are actually going to your homeless shelter! Just a thought.
I am not affiliate with any site or organization and I only list under my little ole' id on AW ! :=)
edited for clarity

Wendy knows me and she knows I'm not trying to bait and hook her into anything.

Hi everybody!
Paloma91, I believe you when you say you have no affiliations... I hope everyone else will take you at your word.
I keep having to repeat myself...and still some do not seem to have heard me. I too, am not affiliated or paid by any auction sites...and use only this ID on AW.
I received an offer through email...informing me of the auction site and offering an incentive for sellers to try out LowestBids. I do not know how many of these were sent out...maybe bunches...or maybe just the one. Since I do list on auction sites, it is an interest of mine and I did not consider it spam. And I found it to be an offer I could not overlook or reject, due to the circumstances at that time. I am not sorry for deciding to list at LowestBids. I hope that LowestBids will not only host the Charity Auction, but will also donate 100% of the proceeds to the homeless shelters that Nanabee's provides to them. As for us, we state that we donate over 10% of all profits and 100% of any referral monies, and post our donations on the site. As a new business, we have little or no profit this early on...and most monies donated thus far have come from the pockets of our staff(mostly part-time), who have also been donating their time/employment. I take accusations against the site, where we decide to sell, seriously and do try to investigate what I deem to be ethical issues. I am not perfect...by a long shot. But I feel my heart is in the right place.
MtnMama, Hello...I know you are a great person and would not intentionally try to harm anyone. I have posted this message to try to clear the air and let people know more about me. I took the same precautions when I listed at BidBay. I find the people at BidBay to be soooo kind and helpful. I am no longer listing there, but I will visit the Chat to say hello from time to time and also place some bids. I've seen lots of great deals! Thanks for your well-wishes, I know they are sincere. Wendy
The decision I made for Nanabee's was a business decision, not an attempt to discourage anyone from BidBay or to persuade them to follow where we've gone. The info I put on the boards here is just to share what I have found at LowestBids. I know that this site has its problems, as most sites do. But I have been answered and shown proof, that alleviates any questions raised on this site that are of an ethical issue. I am not allowed to post that here...but people will either know and trust me or they won't. Nothing I say or do will change the way some feel about Nanabees.
AG2, I sincerely appreciate the kindness you've shown. You also are a great person. I know you sincerely wish Nanabees only the best. I am only stating truths here...so it will be difficult for me to be baited so to speak. I am not trying to hide anything. And I genuinely hope that all will understand better now...that I am no one's enemy. I'd like to be friends with everyone. Life is too short and precious to be filled with anything but love and peace. Wendy

Wendy,
I am not trying to be your enemy, but I am trying to educate you on the ethics, or rather lack of ethics that the CEO of lowestbids has established here.
I can name you a list of a dozen or more names that he has posted under on these AW boards.
Slamming, spamming, slandering, and ugly posts.
He has been continually bannished from here by Mark, who DOES have the ability to verify that it is the same person, via several different ways.
He has claimed to be the CEO, and then denied it, aying he wasn't.
He registered at an alternate auction BB using MY user ID, and immediately came HERE to point it out to me.
He has had full threads here in which his own alias's praised his site back and forth, only to be made to look the fool when it was outted that all the posters in those threads were him talking to himself.
He manipulates the numbers on his site, to make it look as if there are more users/auctions then there really are.
I have had no dealings with him outside of these boards, and my opinion of him is based on his childish, rude, and unprofessional approach to gaining free advertisment by spamming these boards, and telling us outright lies.
I have been here on AW for about 3 years now, and I try to help educate people like yourself so that they can avoid the pitfalls of online preditors like this.
*NOTE* Again, this is my opinion on a COMPANY, and it's CEO, and not on any AW poster or individual.

In addition to what Pocono said there was a thread started concerning the harvesting of email addresses and spamming by the CEO of slowestbids.com on the site you just left to move your wares. I could find that thread and bump it if you would like.

Yeah Vette,
while you're at it bump up the one where the BidBay sellers angrily posted on the Cafe that they were upset from receiving so much spam due to BidBay's spamming contest. You know the one where you were supposed to email sellers you found on BidBay and invite them to chat and if they mentioned your name you got some sort of point and the one with the most points won some prize.
What about the links here where BidBay was busted for spamming AW.
Which of course continues to happen...poor old fullofknowledge1.
What about the live chat the other night where the user ID mysticgem who is also an employee / agent of BidBay asked the CEO what I am sure was a prepared question...unbeknownst to a lot of people that she was right there in the same building, possibly the same office as the CEO.
BidBayers make this too easy...LOL
Hook, line and sinker
I'm just glad I don't have to talk about the ones that got away. ROFL!!!!

Sure AG2,
I might even just bump the thread where you posted the selling of your Bidbay stores for cash, you know the ones that was bought for "bogus bucks" to cash buyers that Bidbay doesn't have according to you. ~Vette~

Well, to be fair, when Auxpal (now Bidville) first opened, it did a mass mailing to existing PayPal users, inviting them to the site. Auxpal was not assoicated with PayPal so they must have harvested the names from other auction sites.
posted on February 15, 2001 12:32:49 PM newSure be my guest. I am proud of that wise move on my part.
I got out while the getting was good. Made a pretty penny too.
Oh yes I know you did. Personally I'd be ashamed of myself for selling people these stores and then later proceed to trash the site that put a pretty penny into my pocket.
But there you have it, different strokes for different folks.
posted on February 15, 2001 12:42:01 PM new
I am only posting facts that can be verified.
Once again the don't shoot the messenger phrase comes to mind.
When I listed my stores up for sell I listed all but one as I had intended upon staying.
But what changed my mind was when the CEO announced the reward for information on who was posting under the user ID SEABHS.
That is when I decided to leave quietly. But when I found the CEO posting here violating his AW suspension once again and requesting that AW censor the users here I decided I would not leave so quietly.
The truth has been out there all along. People just refuse to see it, or are blinded by the hush money they receive in the guise of prizes. So I don't feel ashamed. They made their choice even though I've been posting about the problems at BidBay for months.
They decided to ignore the problems. But in the end the truth will set them free.
Gosh I sure hope I have room on my trophy wall, it sure is getting crowded.
posted on February 15, 2001 01:58:20 PM new
Well, heck, I've never received any hush money or prizes. They only go to the folks that list the most. Vette, don't go quotin' this back to me 'k? It's true. The daily contests that they used to run went to the same people over and over again. hmm .. and that elusive BidBay Billy guy? Have YOU seen him? I haven't and probably never will.
Anyhow, Wendy , I'm really curious. I usually delete emails from other auction houses. I found BidBay through this chat board, believe it or not. Through negative advertising, no less. I deleted the spam I received from them and from users several times, saying thanks but no thanks. So if I received an offer for lowestbids it went in the trash along with the others. What kind of incentives did they offer other than "free listing forever."
