I'm in NJ. The highways north are full of fire ,police, and military vehicles heading North. As I came to work, the air was filled with contrails from military jets, probbaly flying out of Maguire AFB.
That plane down in PA is being reported as being forced down by us. It must have been horrible to be that AF fighter pilot.
One thing is for certain. The statements here about galvanizing people are true. Some terrible "cleaning" is coming. For the terrorists and the countries that house them. They say people who do not observe history are forced to repeat it. Yet we always try to appease these animals.

I live in Indiana and all our schools have sent on lockdown. I went and got my daughter! No way did I want her away from me now. I realize Indiana is NOT high profile but I am NOT taking any chances.

Hello all - thanks for your news up dates - I am now at home. And because I work near a government installation I can tell you about this item, at least:
I just heard the military is now at threat condition DELTA level - the same level we would be at if we were to declare war or be at war.
Level Delta simply means that intelligence reveals that a terrorist activity is highly likely and government installations are to act according to their local security plan, to include evacuation if applicable. This does **NOT** mean anything about a war. Let's not get everyone even more excited.

What a horrifying day...Here in AL, Christian schools have closed. Red Stone Arsenal is at alert level Charlie; Marshall Space Flight Center has been evacuated.

If anyone is wondering the significance, today is the 21st anniversary of the Camp David Accords.
Unfortunately, the emergency response center for NYC was on the 23rd floor of one of the towers.
The Kennedy Space Center has been closed & the shuttles returned to their buildings.
Supposedly, the plane down in PA was forced down by the Air Force as it was heading toward the DC/NY areas.
4 planes missing, 2 American Airline, 2 United. One AA and One United hit the WTC.
Celebrations all over the West Bank..apparently they have never heard of Pearl Harbor & what awakening a sleeping giant can mean.

Our kind hearted treatment of terrorists caused this. The Israelis have learned how to deal with this. Bin Laden is taking credit for it now. Why is he still alive after the first time????? They are celebrating on the West bank because they are so incredibly stupid they don't realize the US will no longer "protect" them, but quite the reverse.

one of the classic economic scenario could emerge from this-when private sector spending dries up ,sending the country into a recession,one way to lift the economy out of it is for the government to step in and spend its way back to economic prosperity.
you just heard it,fed reserve discount window is open,money will be made available to commecial banks all around the country.

In Toronto, the CIBC shut its large downtown Toronto office at BCE Place at noon, and the TTC (Toronto Transit) moved to rush hour service. The CN Tower was evacuated earlier this morning in the wake of the U.S. terrorist attacks. A CIBC spokesperson said none of the bank's 2,900 New York employees were injured, although several of them are believed to have witnessed the plane crashes from their office across the street from the World Trade Centre.
Phone lines across the U.S. were jammed in the wake of the attacks. Calling the New York area was all but impossible.
A Bell Canada spokesperson suggested people should only call U.S. numbers in case of an emergency.

We have also been asked across the continent to stay off our cell phones. The lines are needed for emergency departments in every city.

It's shocking that people in Palestine are celebrating in the streets. Do they not understand that we're just like them, with families, pets, love, God, everyday stresses and simple joys? How can a whole country full of individual people be seen as nothing but a faceless evil?

I was watching CNN live when the second plane hit the tower. What a shock.
Best wishes to you all, especially to families of the victims.

I stand corrected. The Canadian/US border is still open but on high alert.
From the Toronto Star:
At one of Canada's busiest border crossing into the U.S., officials were on high alert, searching every vehicle wishing to cross.
''I understand U.S. customs are inspecting all vehicles . . . they're on high alert . . . they will take more time with every vehicle,'' said Stan Matthews, a spokesman for the Peace Bridge, which links Buffalo and Fort Erie, Ont.
''That will cause backups,'' he said. ''They have not closed the bridge. It will cause major congestion.''
Meantime, U.S. border crossings in New Brunswick were placed on "high alert,'' said John Barrett, an official with the federal Immigration Department.
Border agents have been told to watch for suspicious travellers attempting to enter Canada.
"They are to be thoroughly examined for possible links,'' Barrett said.
Airports throughout Atlantic Canada cancelled all outgoing flights and were getting ready to receive dozens of international flights diverted from U.S. destinations.
