My prayers from Canada go out to all Americans involved.I hope to see some miraculous survival stories in the next few days.Any lives that can be saved from this will surely be that.I am sure as strong as Americans are they will all pull together and get through this! All I can feel today is sorrow for all those involved. This truly is a sad day.

cdnbooks,

Camp David Accords (if my shaky memory will work on this horrific day) was the peace agreement between Israel & Egypt.

They are now reporting the plane that was forced down in PA was heading for a "large" target in Washington..probably the White House.

The plane down in Somerset County, PA was not forced down by our military ... it was hijacked. Someone in the plane made 4 phone calls from a cel phone.

This is from my local news ... I am only about 20 minutes (if that) away from the crash site.

They just called for and then called off the evacuation of downtown Anchorage. One of the international flights that was still in the air was headed for Anchorage and they weren't able to get intouch with it. They sent a couple of Airforce jets out to make visual contact with it. Still it makes me nervous. You'd think way up here in Alaska we'd be safe.

The schools in Crawford Texas have all closed, as has TSTC - the old James Connolly Air Force Base - that President Bush flies into when he comes to Crawford.

Also, a lot of businesses in Killeen, Texas have closed - that is near Ft. Hood.

My thoughts on this issue have gone 'Un-Surveyed' and may not be of importance to the P.T.B.

Everyone's comments are important. I am reading all ... but do not comment on all. Being informed is good.

Of you are a reasonable Arab living in a Middle Eastern country that harbours terrorists I advise you to move, immediately as your country will likely be paved over shortly.

REPORT FROM PHOENIX, AZ

Here in Phoenix, AZ all the tall buildings in downtown have been closed and evacuated. Of course our International airport is closed and all flights headed into Sky Harbor have landed and are accounted for. Several but not all-Federal buildings have closed as well as some state offices and a few schools that are located in the path of a large dam.

The military and National Guard are on Delta Alert status, which is the highest military alert we have. Most companies are open and people are going about their business. My son was sent home early from his job OSI a collection agency without a reason. They just closed the complex and sent everyone home.

There are four naval ships leaving from Norfolk VA for NYC to help apparently.

This reminds me of the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. The military planes going over and all.

My routes to get nearer DC to pick up my husband are all closed. So if anyone in Maryland or VA or WVA has any idea of getting closer to the DC area, better rethink. Route 29, 50, 66 are only open going out. Good move I think. I am glad the DC area was readying themselves for the WTO.

[This was on Channel 9 Wash. I think CBS]

I'm not hearing on the TV news that there are any more airliners unaccounted for. But they are also not having President Bush return to the White house.

This is a very sad day. I skipped school today because I just couldn't imagine sitting in class with this going on. I called my mom, and she was watching the news.

I sincerely hope we go to war and wipe out whomever did this. If we don't fight back, it'll happen again and again. We have to show the world we will fight back.

I'm going to get my baby now, I miss her. I'm thinking about the plant we have here that makes weapons. They've got it under severe guard because it produces a lot of weapons. Police and military are everywhere. It's kinda scary.

We have a lot of immigrants here going to college and they've got more cops out on patrol because this is redneck area and they're afraid someone will attack the foreign students as a retaliation.

I wish everyone here well. I have a lot of family in the military, so my dad is all worried about them. We have family in Virginia around that area that my dad hasn't made contact with. I'm sure they're ok, but if they're not, can't do anything about it. I'm just dealing with the things I can do something about and letting the other stuff go.

I don't have cable, so I'll be reading this a bunch. e-mail on

I'm writing to you from a hill overlooking Pearl Harbor. I am sick as I watch the news reports. My husband is on duty now and I have gathered the children at home. We'll give blood at the earliest possible moment. Fighter planes are flying overhead as they escort a few incoming flights to Honolulu International Airport. These are planes that were diverted here or which were inbound to Honolulu and couldn't turn back. Most federal institutions, including the Arizona Memorial, are closed. Many businesses are closed, not only for security reasons, but also out of respect for the victims of this national tragedy.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. The horror is unbelievable. God be with all of you.

I'm wondering why United Airlines won't disclose the location of the fourth plane's crash.

Hmm, maybe. I heard it was a smaller, commuter-size plane which hit the Pentagon, but that doesn't preclude a second crash there.

I just read another report that UAL doesn't know where that other 767 went down, though it seems that someone would have noticed....

Auctionwatch moderators, why do you allow posts calling the president an sob, when you'd probably kill the post if another poster were insulted in that way. Are you as sick as a (very)few of objectionable posters are?

This morning, before the attacks on the world trade center and the pentagon, my local radio station DJs were making jokes about this being 911 day (in reference to the date 9/11), what a prediction that turned out to be. This is a sad happening in our country, and the thousands of people affected by this will be in my thoughts and prayers. I also can't help but think there ARE good points about living in the middle of Kansas where there is nothing worth attacking.

My prayers go to all the victims and their families. May God give their families the strength to face their losses with courage. It is a very sad day in American History. We were untouched for so long. We never realized how vulnerable we all are.

If it the report is true about the Pittsburg gentleman who reported the hijacking via cellphone in the plane's bathroom; he is the hero of this tragedy in my mind.

Imagine the poor Americans vacationing in the middle east right now, witnessing the celebration in the streets. Pray for their safe return.

Found my Brother at the Pentagon. He is OK. My Mother, who had a brother at Pearl Harbor in 1941 was a wreck. She is 80 just these few hours has really taken a toll on her.

My Brother is upset now, but I know him and by tomorrow he is going to be as mad as hell and be ready to re-up, and he is pushing 50.

Just reported that the President has landed in Nebraska at the old Strategic Air Command and disappeared into what was reported as "a rabbit hole" in a red brick building.

me, too, esp since there is nowhere to give blood in town. The nearest is North up the highway but it's clear that around here [Northern Virginia] being on the highways is not a great idea today.
