Well, Now that this thread is at the top again & I have a bit more YAHOO! experience than when I first posted, I'll add my comments.
I think Yahoo is the best site!
Here's why:
1) Stuff has the opportunity to be turned around SO quickly! Yahoo's "First bid wins" strategy makes this possible.
2) Seller can choose the auction end time & has choices that go beyond the 3,5,7, & 10 day auctions. That means that I can list an auction at 3:00 am on Monday morning if I feel like it & I can still close it at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening if that is my preference. Gotta love that!
3) Things in my preferred categories sell very well on Yahoo! At least as well as they do on Ebay and in many cases better.
4) A FREE, integrated payment system that allows transfer of funds via credit card or bank account between seller & buyer.
5) Free listings, which mean a combination of higher profit margins for me & lower prices for my customers.

I am thrilled with the sales I'm getting from Yahoo. Listed some stuff this morning, 12 items gone already, with 1st bid wins. And I don't think the % of deadbeat buyers is any higher than I've had at Ebay. When I sat down to list this week, I found myself putting the majority of first run items on Yahoo, rather than Ebay.

HeyGrape - I know what you mean. We started posting on Yahoo 6 months ago. When I finally figured out how to make items move on Yahoo, we got so busy twice since then, that I had to shut down my auctions on Yahoo, to catch up with orders, and I have a full time packer working for me.
TRUE, I don't get the "through the roof" prices on Yahoo, but like Wal-Mart, I make it up in volume.
I also agree, you won't move as many high end items on Yahoo as you may on eBay, and I do still use eBay for such items, but I LOVE YAHOO, and have 80% of my auctions there, and use it more and more as I have learned the system.
eBay doesn't seem to understand simple business practices - the SELLER is their customer, not the buyer. We, the sellers, are the ones who pay eBay's bills, and they have consistently done everything possible to alienate us. I don't need the hassle when I can YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
