View the source code of this page and search for the word "layer". You'll not only see who did it, but how easily it was done with a little html and css code.

kathyg, I found the source code and who did it, but why is eBay having so much trouble removing it? Couldn't they just pull the post? Not that I'm not enjoying this, just curious.
I don't see it when I click directly on the link, but if I click forward then back on my browser, it's there.
This is the most fun I've had in awhile. Pathetic.

Good for you...I tried and couldn't even find it in all that code. Do you think Checkout could really be blocked on your auction page? I mean by a normally ignorant computer user...

Maybe. I havn't studied the code yet, but it looks like it's dependent on where on the page what you want covered up is... Covering up something on top is easy, since it's the first thing displayed, something on bottom or in the middle may be a little harder.... You have to enter the position. No doubt it can be done, as long as ebay doesn't block layering.

Don't forget about the eBay Private Dick Squad! They turn you in, you're done. I've spent the last day making new "sterilized" templates to get them off my back.

Hi Wranglers: I was looking at [email protected] auctions and it seems they have changed the link . It now leads to their "ME" page, instead of their web store.

well that was a small victory. but now their ME page is nothing but a big advertisement for their stores, which by their numbers of 20,000 stores in 4 months at 100 per store is 2,000,000 dollars. the last time I checked their stock it was something like .12. you know that everyone of those stores was generated from people going their from ebay. If ebay had enforced their rules with them that would have been 2 million less in their pockets and more people buying on ebay.
Just all go back to the fact that ebay wants the big guys and could care less about the little guys, if we the little guys had been making 500,000 a month is sales driven from ebays site with links that by their own rules are not aloud we would be NARU so fast it would snap your neck. Not to mention the fact that Meg would probably call you personally to try to get her cut of the loot.
They have to be in cahoots with ebay for them to let the links go on that long and now for their "ME" page to be a huge ad for these stores. Would you be surprised if in a few months they made a "deal" with ebay to include their "stores" on eBays site and if you wanted to run a store you had to sign up through them and sell their merchandise?
If ebay is in bed with these guys this is what we are looking at. eBay/take to auction buys the merchandise, which is more like acquire the merchandise like return buy one of their other companies. They sell it to you and me, we pay listing fees and closing costs, it doesn't sell we are out the listing fees and they have it to list over and over again with other poor souls trying to make a buck, it stays in their supply chain until it sells. So really they could collect a lot more in fees then the buyers(collectively) would ever make on that item.
Also if this is happening, and ebay is in the retail position selling it to the people that have signed up with TTA they are likely to be able to dodge some taxes as well as making much more that retail on every item in their supply chain. If ebay isn't in bed with them and they are reading this now I bet they are seeing lots of lost $$$ signs floating out the window. eBay fees are like being slowly pecked to death by chickens!!!
