We tried potted trees, but when we planted them they died, even following instructions. In Miami, we ordered a live tree from Maine every year, until the UPS box was stolen from our front porch one year. I became allergic to them...especially Fraser firs. When we moved here I purchased a tree that was handmade in North Carolina. It had twigs coming out from the "evergreen" branches...even. Man, that thing was a green cloth-like material that just looked dead...the underside of the cloth was brown. I had said that if I had to have an artificial tree it was going to look it. I pitched it this year, consoling myself that it wasn't a huge amount of misspent money because we used it for six years. Now I don't know what we are going to do. My children are coming home from college this weekend. One doesn't want a once live "killed" tree in the house, the other hates fake trees. I am allergic to the PVC in the fake ones, and the sap in the real ones....what fun! Maybe we will try a balled
one again this year, run the air cleaner and see if we can keep this one alive!
