So what is the solution for pricing for me? I am kinda on the new side and always have difficulties in pricing items. I do not have a postal scale here at home, so I have always tracked what the little monitor says about my items shipped at USPS.
How do I charge the rate for shipping plus the materials. (without using priority, no more free boxes) In the past, before I found out about the free materials, I would post a specific amount for shipping on my listing and then if the materials plus shipping ended up as less, I put that money towards the materials and shipping of an item that wasn't fully covered. It doesn't always work out well..
What do people use to estimate shipping for nonPriority Mail shipping?
Get a postal scale! I got mine on Ebay, they go for less than you will find in the stores. I printed out a chart, so I can easily figure out my shipping. Guess the new chart will be more complicated with all the zones. However, if you are doing this even part time, I think a scale is an absolute necessity, and if your packages are over 16 ounces, it will soon be a very indispensible necessity

Apparently, they're still looking into cutting back to 5-day a week deliveries, closing post offices, and (yes) jacking up the rates even further. Just heard it on the news.

!>>> I lived in Great Britain and France for a few years and believe me it IS NOT CHEAP to mail even a letter!<<<
This simply is not true for packages.
I think people better dump their eBay stock. As someone said above, better to drive and buy it at this point.
I think it would be nice if eBay had a calculate shipping feature on every auction listing.
