By all means it should be killed, afterall Auctionwatch certainly cannot have enough space in their computer banks to hold all of that useless information.

Furthermore all those folks that chime in every so often should not be allowed to have as much fun as they are having.

So yes do take away their good time and all the fun they are having.

This is a serious board for serious discussions on Ebay issues only.

NOT!

If you guys want to have this kind of fun, please move it to eBay's board. I am sure you will find a lot of people there who really have nothing constructive to discuss.

springmoon, do you work for AW to police the threads here?

If you don't like it just don't click on it. Some people are just having a bit of fun and you are welcome to join if you wish in case you are feeling left out.

No use getting your panties in a bunch over some little harmless fun.

Hey, cut the originator of the longest thread some slack. It's probably the only place on earth where he'll have the longest one.

I agree with you 100% springmoon. The "Longest Thread #1" is a complete waste. It has nothing intelligent to say. Just a lot of people babling, just so jackswebb can claim some sort of useless title.

The purpose of these boards is to exchange USEFUL information regarding ebay and other auction sites. I dont see one bit of useful in that thread. It is nothing but people writing goofy poems, jack writing some incoherent messages and people incouraging him.

If the moderators were here that thread would have been killed a long time ago.

If you want to see that thread killed write to auctionwatch and express your feelings. I have already done that.

Great job springmoon and finishedwithebay.

It is about time somebody stood up to that nonsense.

Finshedwithebay, I took your advice and complained to auctionwatch as well. Hopefully they will stop it.

The only thing that thread will do is to discourage people from posting threads when they have serious questions or problems if they see that this board is nothing but postings about garbage.

Ever since the moderators stopped policing these boards all the threads have been about feedback and people complaining about their first neg.

BRING BACK THE MODERATORS OR GET RID OF THIS FORUM.

Sorry to those who do not like the thread. It seems like a lot of posters are having fun with it.

Not too terribly long ago someone very close to me died from cancer. These same wonderful people helped me through it. I learned a big lesson through the whole experience ...

Life is too short. Sometimes you have to stop and have a little senseless fun.

I said it, and will continue saying it -- that darn "LONGEST THREAD" is useless. What does it have to do with eBay? If y'all want to form an eBay Depressed Anonymous Group, find another venue to do it. When people come to this board, they are expecting to find usefull and contructive information. Yes, once in a while a funny thread can be started to lighten up everyone, but this "LONGEST THREAD" has gone overboard. It's not even funny...just incoherent.

KILL IT NOW!

>>"I said it, and will continue saying it -- that darn "LONGEST THREAD" is useless."<<

So, you've created another useless thread to complain about a useless thread. That sounds logical to me.

Ya know, I've been pretty much ignoring that thread until last night. (You could do the same) Then I decided, out of boredom to post something and I was amazed that the boredom went away.

GOOD JOB JACK!

Edited to add: The only reason I looked at that thread was because of this one. Now look what you've started.

"It's not even funny...just incoherent"

I agree. Why would anyone want to contribute to a bunch of nonsense. Ebay is now full of people looking to get stuff for nothing. They are teenie-boppers who dont understand the concept of an auction. They will bid, not pay or complain of fraud at the drop of a hat. They will write to you screaming in fragmented sentences that make no sense at all.

That thread is just going to prevent serious people from posting on this board. That thread has nothing to do with ebay.

And to those of who that say to give the poster a break, I say no way. If a person needs to write about nothing only to have the satifaction of having the longest thread then he is a deprived person just looking for attention. In no way is it humorous.

Thanks for those kind words docpjw.

What the heck am I doing in this forum ---- I am adding my two cents. I have been with using this forum for over three years. (Not using this id of course). It has provided me with a lot of useful information over the years because it people were asking serious questions about auctions and they received serious answers. This was back in the days with the moderators. Since the moderators have been eliminate, the forum has gone downhill. It is nothing but people complaining about getting a neg and whether or not to post feedback before or after the person receives their package.

If the moderators were still around that thread along with this one would have been ended along time ago because they have nothing to say.

People on here have complained the forum boards are garbage. Why? It is because people are talking about what they had for breakfast, how many auctions they posted that day, what they did at the beach and how bad ebay is. None of the posts has any useful information what so ever.

By adding to jackswebb's useless thread, all you are doing is encouraging that same kind of behavior on this site. Keep it up and the auctionwatch boards will suffer the same fate as the ebay boards.

I for one do not want to see that happen so that is what I am doing here by posting.

Thank you springmoon and logansdad for sticking up for this site.

Aside from the talk about breakfast and the beach I would say that all the rest of these points are valid discussions about Ebay. Or would you have people only post questions and issues that only you are interested in.

As far as the breakfast, beach and whatever other topics I say what the heck if someone wants to talk about them then why not allow it. You are not required to participate in any discussion that you do not want to participate in. If anyone else wants to participate in these types of discussions and they aren't hurting anyone then why not leave them alone and allow them the freedom to do so.

What you and some others are advocating is nothing short of communism. (in the voice of a communist)We will bring down our iron fist upon these people and stop their useless and meaningless meanderings. We will not allow them to discuss matters other than what we deem usefull and meaningfull to the people of this board.

Yea right, I say get off of your high horse, get a life and stop trying to control what others want to discuss.

At the bottom of the page, you can click on "post new topic" and start your own thread. That would certainly be more productive than raising hell about a thread in which you have no interest.

Good points, yellowstone!

That was exactly what I was about to suggest. I don't see the complainers starting any threads about serious topics of discussion.

rsmsportsga, you do *care* what thread is what. Imagine the answer to your question is in "THE LONGEST THREAD" -- #531. You had to brave it and read 530 incoherent gibberish gook before getting to your answer -- that is if you decide to read the thread.

Well we will see if anybody remembers anything about that stupid thread in 2 months.

I am glad Jack will go down as having the longest thread.

In a year people will go "I wonder who the orginator of that useless thread was or what they even talked about."

Are we to thirty yet.......
