11:46 here in East Texas. Now, just a white screen. Can anyone explain to me why so many, including me, keep running to eBay like Lemmings to the sea. There are other alternatives. Why don't people get fed up and go somewhere else, thereby making "Auction Brand X" the next eBay?

It took a very long time but I eventually got the system status page to load. eBay is sick today.

My question to eBay is ---- Don't they run parallel with real data before updating programs or upgrading equipment? With someone (not a programmer) testing files to make sure something like this doesn't continuously happen? It might be a bit expensive in the beginning, but in the long run you wouldn't run across these down times and would actually be cost effective.

Hey ~ didn't this same thing happen on a Monday just a couple of weeks ago ?? ebay was down like half the day!!
I end a lot of my auctions on Mondays, right now have 10 getting ready to end shortly and great .... no on else can bid

I have always had great success with Mondays but think I had better switch to another day since Mondays are getting like Sunday nights!!

Like the song by the Boom Town Rats ... I don't like Mondays..... !!

Down in Tucson AZ. This is getting to be a habit with eBay. Instead of posting on this board we should all hit Meg with e-Mail complaining.

I can't get onto the ebay home page or my seller page, either, but if you start at this point, you can at least search by title or whatever...this apparently isn't being affected by whatever ebay's problems are today...

Nothing in Missouri, either. I find it odd that eBay was out on Saturday morning - completely out - and there was never an announcement about it! Now this.

Yeah, I've tried a lot of other auction sites, but like Microsoft, eBay has a monopoly. They got in early, got the users netted, and now no one else can get off the ground. Wish there WERE a viable alternative...

Seize the moment to check out Carnaby.com and win a million in their new Cash Cow lottery game while you are there browsing. It's very cool and very fun. Yes, I'm biased. I love that site.

Check out all the third tier sites while you are at it and make comparisons. Make use of this time. Check out the sites that have rare or minimal outages.

Grrr Ebay - my best bids come on Mon. a.m. - I'm not a happy camper.

Interesting that they do not admit to an outage - just that "some members may be experincing some difficulties." I can not even get the homepage or anything else for starts - not even the site page.
