If it weren't for ebay, I'd be working at some low-paying, mind-numbing job.

Thanks ebay!

Thanks Meg!!!

"I don't understand how the bid could DROP to $10 but nothing shows up in the bid cancellation history. How else would the highest bid drop?"

It's been a long, long time, but if memory serves (and it doesn't always), when a bidder is NARU'd, eBay does an "Administrative Cancellation" of whatever active bids he has at the time....and I don't believe it shows up on the bid history. Is the bidder NARU now?

Really enjoying this thread! Keep it coming!

Sounds like eBay to me. except with eBay you get to do the low-paying, mind-numbing work at home.

Yes, but how much do you think a paper bag that size is going to cost? There may not be much of that dough left over

I asked the seller a question about the price thing and he responded. Here is a copy of the reply.

It's a loooong story, but here it is!
Someone who works for eBay's Auction Watch Department mistakenly thought I was claiming a copyright on the eBay logo, (how stupid can someone be?), and they pulled the auction. All of a sudden, the auction was gone!!
It was horrible, I couldn't believe it. In a hurry, I talked to one of the ebay supervisors at the conference, he already knew about the 'problem' and they were trying to fix it.

However, they just cancelled the auction and couldn't get it back the way it was. I had no way of finding out who the original bidders were or just sending an e-mail to any of the bidders. Supposedly, the bidders were going to receive an e-mail letting them know that ebay had mistakenly cancelled the auction. I don't know if that happen.

It bothered me that first they tell me they will contact the bidders, and later they say they couldn't restore the auction, nor find the original bidders. It was just a snow job, I think.

Also, a lot of people at the eBay Live Conference were following the auction, even some people at the conference booths had the auction on their monitors, that really made me feel good. I feel much better know, but I felt my blood boiling with disgust. The USAToday newspaper took a dorky picture of me holding the cards up to my face, and with some luck, I might be on the June 26, or 27 edition.
