Apparently very few actually saw the offending posts/threads that lead to the suspensions. I'm a bit of a West Coast night owl and saw it all and believe me they all earned a permenant suspension. Thank Gawd AW moderates the boards when requests are made by members.

I am a long time lurker and short time poster. I finally decided to post and help out when I thought could contribute something ( Now, no comments on whether I do or not this is not about me).
I think part of the problem is Jack had not been posting as long as some of the other suspended members and was obviously very popular with the other posters.
Jealousy is a funny thing... a person comes on the Message Center and consistently posts hateful, angry things... then resents and is envious of the person who always tries to help or offer at least constructive criticism and is generally well liked or at least respected.
I have watched for years (I have been selling on eBay since 1998, and lurking on AW since Mark started it) as three of the posters, who were suspended with Jack, were warned about their behaviour time after time.
The moderators know this and I think they should take it into consideration when determining the final outcome of Jack's suspension.
I like the give and take on this forum but a couple of the posters here usually don't have much to contribute but anger and venom. I have wondered at their being allowed to post mean spirited, ugly things time after time and not be at least given a cooling off period.
I finally assumed they were using AW to list auctions and therefore at least financially profitable to AW. I don't know if Jack was financially profitable to AW or not I do know he was an asset to the Message Center

people get suspended all the time,i read his posts,not particularly inspiring.
his fans can always start another site if they miss him so much.

compassion isn't "juvenile" ... jackswebb always comes across as a 'compassionate' person in his banters and helpful postings ... I sign this petition, too.

what makes you think jack want to be back??may be he has reached nirvana,may be he won the state lottery,may be he is tired of making a living on ebay.
may be he found a better site.
why not show some compassion for the real suffering -how about the guy shot outside ponderosa??

Compassion for ones fellow man incudes both the small difficulties and the larger than life tragedies.
I do have compassion for the man shot outside the Ponderosa but I can do nothing to help him on a personal level.
I can ask that Jack be reinstated.
How would you suggest I show compassion for the man shot outside the Ponderosa?

Surely, you have a kind heart to have sent money to that poor man and his family. I hope you could afford to send something to each of the victims or their families.
I stated in my previous post that I could do nothing for the man shot outside the Ponderosa, on a personal level, that was why I asked you how else I could show compassion for him.
It sure helps to keep the thread up at the top if everyone can post several times. Thanks for helping!

Jack would never leave us, he loves us as we love him. I like it when he comes in and tells his swap meet stories and the messes he gets in. So AW bring Jack back as we need him as he needs us.
Let us all put askdaruma on Ignore, who ever it is has no compassion for the fellow man and if he/she did she would understand Jack as we do.

Now seriously, if you won the lottery would you be able to stop yourself from coming in and telling everyone?
I would at least have to say goodbye to some of the super people who have shared their knowledge, good times and bad rhymes with me for years even though they couldn't have known they were sharing with me, because I would not post.
