They're more than lazy sellers, Libra. They're thieves. If they will steal from their fellow sellers, can't you imagine what they would do to a buyer?
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

kiara, I got it with irfanview...thank you...
I just had to have Picture It, and I haven't taken the time to work with it in over a year...I did some great composites of my grandchildren last christmas, and that was it.

I also like neonmania's suggestion.
It works when the little pirate is linking directly to your picture and not even re-hosting it. You re-name your image and use the original name for your cute little "stolen image" graphic. Your graphic shows up on their auction. Pretty clever!

Kiara - I have Irfanview, version 3.7, but I can't get the "append copyright" dialog to come up. Where do you see that? Thanks!!
Edited to add that all I had to do was upgrade to version 3.8.........duh.
Thanks for the tip! Learn something every day!

tradersjones, when you have your image on the screen, drag your left mouse to open a box to insert your text where you would like it on your pic.
Then under Edit, click Insert Text. That will open a box where you can write the text, choose color and font, append copyright, date and time also if you wish.
classicrock000, I also have the 2001 version of Picture It. I haven't heard about the new digital version.

Thought I'd jump in.
There is a fantastic program called "SnagIt." It allows users to capture anything - screen shots, image files, etc. In addition, it has a cool watermark feature.
Watermarking allows you to add an image as an underlay or overlay of the captured image.
The download is free, but there is a time bomb in it now, so you have to pay for it after 30 days. Link: http://www.techsmith.com/products/snagit/default.asp
Here is an example of what you can do:

I import the image direct from my flashcard into Snagit. It automatically inserts the watermark. Then I save the image to my HD to upload in AW.

For those who are looking for a low-tech solution ....
This really works best for irregularly shaped objects (so it can't be cropped out) but I have photographed items placed on a sheet of paper with my username/business name printed on it over and over again (like the "Kodak" logo on the back of the photos you get from Wal-Mart) I image you could also photograph larger objects with your business card (or a small printed logo) resting on part of the item.
I finally did learn how to watermark in Paint Shop Pro, and I can now "float" my logo on my auctions.
My problem with picture thieves is that the item in the picture cannot be the item they are selling ... unless they broke into your house last night and stole it. ...
