I have a Sony DSC-P10. I bought it new for $599 but I think they are down to $399 now
It holds a memory stick and I have the 256 MB size. It holds over 1000 pictures.
I just stack my box of postcards, record albums, movie lobby cards etc by the table, pick up one, click...pick up one, click...pick up one, click...etc. et.c
I can actually take several a minute but I allow for straightening time, adjusting time etc. I have my settings all ready for total darkness and two lights pointed at the object. One on each side and the color is great, the picture is clear and no cropping needed.
I use a tripod so the camera stays put and it is very quick. These work like real cameras. There is absolutely no time delay in snapping the photo and saving it. You can take them as fast as you can lay down one item and prop up another.

Remember that eBay has become a very large company. Large companies get sued all the time, often by lawyers who file frivolous suits just in the hopes of getting a big paycheck. I don't think that being sued means much unless there are a large number of them. I'd need a lot of detail on the suit to determine if eBay has any real liability. Based on what I know, probably not.

I use irfanview to process and rename them as I make ads.
extex: It takes me forever to scan a postcard, crop it, save it etc.
I can literally take postcards pix as fast as I can prop one up and move the other so for me it is at least 5 times as fast as scanning.
My postcard is centered in the camera view and no cropping needed. I just run it through Irfanview to reduce the pixels and save on image hosting space before posting.
