Been trying to list something.
That's taken over an hour.
Keep ending up with One word title, No description and No pic!
Forgot to add how much I love having to log in after every click of the mouse. NOT!!

I've been on the phone just to be able to list.
Incomplete title,no pic, no description.
Try to Edit and it comes out worse each time!
The only thing working smooth is they sent me a listing fee of $0.79 for 1 listing.
Hell the already have Ebay beat!

This might be the band wagon to latch onto. Do you think Yahoo's free listing day on the 29th is related to this news? My guess is yes.
Count me in for the experiment.

Let's take a poll.
How many have bought or shopped Overstock?
I have and I continue to check them frequently when I'm shopping for something. Like Amazon (now why didn't they think of this?) they have terrific shipping prices!
A Hot Tub ships for $2.95!

I signed up but haven't tried listing yet.
Today I received 5 emails from them announcing the Auction Site. One went to the email address I used to sign up, and the others went to every email account I have tied to Ebay ID's.
Anyone know how they got all the Ebay email addresses? One of those I haven't used in over 2 years and just check it occassionally in case Ebay sends something. I don't get any spam and haven't used it for any other purposes. Then, today, there's the email from Overstock.

dad: you're going to be getting a lot of those. It has something to do with the networking thing in order to compete for the $50,000 contest to sign up the most people. I thought it was a "dating service"!

Tonimar, you should have gotten it right away. If you have spam blocker look in your Delete files. When you click on it, you won't think anything happened until you log in to the site. Check again....good luck, Lisa

Dad, make sure your titles don't include any of these: /'"*&%!@#$^&()_+ and so on. Oh and it can't be to large of font(ei cutting and pasting) The Title area is very picky.....right now. Take your time and give the site some time.
Will you be my friend too?
Click on your My Home Page then click on your My Network (View Network)on the left hand side. Or even Invite Friends. I think it is kind of cool only because all of us are 'the beginning' of the site......

Sorry, this auction site will not make it long term.
Only the #1 site can charge listing fees.
All others need to have final value fees.

Well, it is just me or has anyone else noticed how much the Overstock page looks just like the new Ebay pages?? Coincidence, copy cats or just perhaps, maybe, Ebay is trying to rope of few of its disgruntled powersellers back into the pack...????
and ppppppay(not your Pal).com??? come on!

Took me no time at all to list. I went into my preferences and almost everything is prefilled now. Used the same HTML I do for eBay and the title works out fine, too. Saw a TV ad this evening as well. Overstock.com is not a new site and I think they stand just as good a chance at making it as eBay did in the beginning. There are enough disgruntled eBay sellers and buyers to make it happen.

dad: look at ad #952. I wrote and asked her how she was making such ads with the basic software and she was very nice and answered quickly. She said she was familiar with HTML. Well, so am I, but that sure beats me how she is doing it. The multiple lister will be out tomorrow. They were sending it today to people who asked for it in an eMail to Sam. I didn't get it though.

MsLucy: Overstock has been around for ages, just not as an auction site. Not a flash in the pan. The message board is filled with people who claim they are eBay Power Sellers.
We'll see.

I don't know - it took me forever to get a username that wasn't taken and now I've waited about an hour for the email - still haven't gotten it.
Can't wait to start listing!

Toni -
Just had the same experience you did. Signed up yesterday and they said they sent the confirmation e-mail. Nothing received yet and not stuck in any filters.
Got them on live chat and they told me to call their CS line. Called and found out they only provide live telephone support until 6 p.m. Mountain. Ugh!
Gotta call tomorrow, too.

Not me, yet. 90% of my online buying has been at eBay. The other 5% split between Yahoo auctions and Amazon, and the other 5% via email.

dadofstickboy: you got a credit for 79 cents!! You are one of the privileged. There are eBay Power Sellers on the Overstock board wanting to know why they didn't get any credit.
I have one ad that has had 22 lookers since last night. No buyers, but that is more lookers than I had on one item on eBay in a week for the last two months that I sold there.

I already had an account with Overstock. I have bought several down comforters from them at great prices.
I just opened my auction site and listed 1st item. It takes a few min. to get it together but now that I have gotten one listed the rest should be a piece of cake.
I too am sick of Ebay...I haven't had many bids for the last 3 weeks. Maybe it's the hurricanes but it is depressing to pay fees and have no sales
