Me too, sthoemke!
I finally registered with O, and tried to do a few listings - boy oh boy was the html a MESS! I did mine in FP and C&P'd it, but there was no centering or paragraph breaks. Needless to say I didn't list.
Anyone using HTML with success? I sure would appreciate any help you can give with centering and paragraph breaks!

Hi...let's hope it is just growing pains. Yes, html, search etc is goofy.
For instance, try searching under vintage or antique..put in a specific item name such as elgin....how long will buyers put up with this.
At the moment, it appears that people listing are the people that are buying.

they give you an option "standard" or HTML"
I didn't see this until after I finished and was still on standard and it worked fine. Maybe try that. I put <center>widget</center><p><center>widget</center>
etc etc and it worked out fine

I do my HTML under an auction template, cut and paste into standard and it works fine.

Gotta wonder, did these guys do any testing before going live? Looks like a lot of problems that should have been taken care of long before going live. Is anything selling besides fake rolexs, bags, and junk jewelry? Where's the completed items?????

Fluffy is doing something right. Bids on every item. Two of them with 7 bids.

Interesting... Fluffy accepts postage stamps as payment. Makes sense.

MsLucy: My items don't usually close with big dollar amounts. I have had several buyers send me postage stamps instead of cash (which I warn against mailing).
It works for me.

Well my experience has been like some others, I posted, and posted, and first it said this ways wrong, then that, then the other, and after wasting over an hour I threw in the towel and left.
All of my ads are saved in "Turbo Lister," and I just have to pull out the HTML to drop it into another auction, but Overstock, screwup up one things after another, if they are going to make it, they have to get the bugs worked out fast.
I'll give it one more try when I have some time, and then if it doesn't work, I'm off to other things.

Hey everyone, check it out. I made featured seller. Don't know how or why, but who am I to question? Wouldn't happen on eBay in a million years. My sales are also way up compared to eBay. Good thing, too. I need the cash.

How did you get to be featured seller? I just listed about 8 auctions...and I'm going to check out the message boards. Let's hope this takes off.....I need the money!

Hi...have a few items up at Overstock. Doing okay.
But, we've emailed four times in 3 days...still no response.
Hopefully, the bugs will disappear.

I'm trying to list an auction but I haven't gotten that far. I've tried to just do my main page, list my policies, etc and I keep getting a "forbidden" error when I click submit.
That's irritating.

Hey, Bill ... I just managed to get three auctions listed, but have received no e-mail confirmations yet. Do they send those out? How about when someone (hopefully) does "Make it Mine," or the auction ends, do you get a notice? I think we should start a new thread on this, it's getting pretty long.

etexbill Thanks for the kind words. I don't know what the problem is either, but apparently others are folks are also encountering the same issues as I did. First it tells you this is wrong, then that, then the other, and on and on.
One would think, after 8 years on eBay, I would know how to post a simple auction.
I "Thought" I had finally gotten one auction through but I could never find it in their "search", so presume it didn't get posted.
I had posted a Genie Lamp (I “thought), and since their search is so fouled up at this point in time, I put in the search, nothing but the word GENIE, and got all sorts of ridiculous items listed, having no GENIE in the title of any of them. What I didn't get was my own auction.
Oh well, I agree with everyone else, and I'll try from time to time to post, as I'd like to see this site take off, but they have got to get their techs to work on apparently lots of problems.

Hey and thanks. You can go into your home page under preferences and set your eMail preferences on what to receive. I may be biting off more than I can chew here but: I received the link to the final beta test of the O-Lister. If you already have the initial beta test of O-Lister installed it will wipe out all your saved info. If you do not have O-Lister, I would be glad to send it to you, if you will let me know your eMail address. I can't guarantee how it will work as I haven't put on any new listings with it as yet.

niel: I thought of that, but since they say they only sent to a few people and are waiting their feedback before re-leasing the final version, I didn't think I should do that.
We can communicate thru Overstock. Their is a "send a question" feature there.

"Can't see if there are any hits"
Did you place counters on your ads? The hits will show at the bottom if you did.

when I placed the listing, it was confusing to me. something like take out the ex if you don't want the hits to show. negative and negative. so probably did the wrong thing

You need to UN-check the counter box, if you do NOT want the hits the show. Yes, that is a double negative.
Or think of it this way: you can check (already checked) the counter box, if you want the hits to show. That is a double positive.

I read on the boards that they will change the wording on the counter check box. Very confusing. At least buyers and sellers seem to be getting together by blundering through.
