Wow - I would never bid on their auctions - too confusing. Is it broken now, was it broken later - or did they just get a better offer from someone else????????

gosh darn it gets better..... on some of her listings she says "A SMALL PORTION OF THIS SELL, AS DETERMINED BY US THE SELLERS, WILL BE DONATED TO A CHARITY WITHIN 1 YEAR OF THIS SELL."
Now this is a person I am tempted to buy something from just so I can get my hands on that list!

That is a completely annoying auction. I couldn't even bring myself to read that mess! I tried to skim through it and could not garner any info.
Tom's right- this is depressing. And I can't believe you'd get a "READ THE DESCRIPTION" response! Probably this person spends HOURS on a couple of listings and thinks they're really informative and desriptive. URGHH! What a mess...

Hey - it gets better!!! I checked out some of her other auctions - they werent quite as "busy" as the soup tureen - but interestingly enuf ... many auctions show pictures that are clearly watermarked by SHOPGOODWILL.COM.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... AND she states the items came from an estate sale.

I couldn't resist. I had to ask seller a question and ask why the pics says shopgoodwill.com.
I'll let you know what she says

She has a about 8 auctions that are using the Shopgoodwill.com logo. I was going to ask her about it, too - but noticed she's in my part of TX ... thot I'd see if I could just drop by and pick up the junk ...
Just wish they'd learn how to spell and type!!!

Took a look at shopgoodwill.com. It is an auction site. Is she buying from it and reselling using the picture she downloaded?

She probably IS buying from ShopGoodwill for resale. But I'll bet she hasnt had much experience on their site to know that THEIR PRICES are often waaaaay more than ebay prices. I personally shopped that site the 1st yr it was online as I used to collect all kinds of krapola - before it was really discovered. Prices just got too high. And I think its apparent she stole the photos. Not clever enuf to get rid of the watermark I suppose.
BJBoswell - your que on Roundtop - I went there once on a personal daytrip. Place was ridiculously overpriced, overcrowded .. & we never went back. We pass it all the time on the way to the hillcountry.

Ok - I had to ask her about the Goodwill pics. I used to volunteer at Goodwill a few yrs ago + a dear friend of mine ran a dept in the Houston area Goodwill HDQ .. and I am 99% sure they do NOT broker their auctions out ... here's the response:
"Thank you for your comments however we do broker for many organizations, I will have to forward your request to the correct department. As I am unfamiliar with this area.
Thank You

1. Yes - she did consult her dictionary apparently. I just copied/pasted her text.
2. AND, she musta FOUND the "correct dept", cuz all the photos have now been cropped to remove the logos ... bad cropping jobs, too .. oh well, whatever works.

bjboswell, just look what you started here. Made that poor seller go in and change all her pictures. Just think how much time she had to spend going through all her auctions with the "shopgoodwill.com" watermark on them. This is the new photo that is showing up in these auctions now.
Now that picture sure is gonna help her sales.
We are just an awful bunch that likes to cause hate and discontent to all those who irritate us. Now I know why I don't have my eBay user name listed here.

$11 with a RESERVE???
Her fees must be stratospheric
Buy eBay fer Dummies, or, at the very least, give Ralphie a call & learn how to take a decent PICTURE!
And learn the fee structure
OTOH: I wish we had some of her goodies -- Ralphie would write nice descriptions & I'd take nice PICS & we'd be ROLLING IN DA MOOLA!

Well at least now when we go through her 175 listings this evening we will know which ones were Grammy's and which ones belong to Goodwill!
"We are just an awful bunch that likes to cause hate and discontent to all those who irritate us."
CTA not at all this is not hate this is amazment that anyone would spend all the money this person is spending in listing fees alone and writing the "descriptions" she has. Without the photos on most of them, you don't have a clue what it is? how big? small? what ever and condition well forget that... no this is simple amazment. I think having read and participated in this chat area for awhile now that all of us make a living at this and its serious business.I'm amazed that she thought she could get away with this... actually I'm amazed she has for 2 months. I am seriously considering buying something so I can get her "bad dealers list" I really want to know what people have been saying to her. HECK we may be on her list now! Good thing I have a different bidder ID! Good thing Gram or Great Gram!!! had reasonable taste!

My sis & I were looking at a couple of other auctions ...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3773402249
and noticed NO description on the candelbra. Just rambling on about her grandmother, and being a grandmother. She even has other bidders who've asked ?s, and she answered.. but not the questions! .... so my sis sent her an EM asking for description, and why she talked about her history, but NO DESC on the item she was selling.
Her reply: This item is not for sale thank you
Geeze!!
