Chris - For 2 days now, google has emailed me saying that my data feed is not being inserted due to errors (too few tabs). Not sure what that means or how to correct this, so I turn to you for help.

Hello,

I checked and Google base is still displaying your items despite the error message they sent you.

Go here and search for any of the titles you have in your storefront and you should easily be able to locate them.

You can also review the items Google base has accepted to distribute here: http://sell.vendio.com/stores/sf_items.jsp

We'll have to check on why they are sending you this error message and get back to you when we find out more information. To confirm, you don't have any other google base accounts or feeds setup manually through their site correct?

Regards,
Chris

Thank you Chris for your help, it is very much appreciated. To confirm, NO I do not have any other google base accounts or manual feeds through the google website; just the one data feed via Vendio. I hope you can solve the mysterious emails! Thanks again, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Chris, I'm still getting data-feed error notifications from google. Any idea on how to resolve this issue?

"Too few tabs

A line in your tab-delimited data feed doesn't contain the same number of tabs as the header line. Each line in a tab-delimited data feed must have the same number of tabs as the header line so our system can match each data attribute with its corresponding header. When an item line has fewer tabs than the header line, our system will not know which data attribute corresponds to which header. Please make sure each attribute is separated by a single tab. If an attribute is left blank, you must still include a tab to indicate the missing attribute. Here's an example of an error log for an item with too few tabs:

1:link: http://www.example.com/asp/sp.asp?productid=1006
2:title: Brushed Aluminum Lemur Trivet
3escription: http://www.example.com/images/1006.jpg
4:image_link: 51.99
5:price: MISSING

This item has no description, and the tab that should appear between the description attribute and the image_link attribute is missing. The missing tab causes the attributes after the title attribute to contain wrong information. If any attribute is blank for an item, you should still include a tab where the attribute would normally appear."

Can some one point me to the instructions for setting up the google base/product feeds? I'm new to this and can use some help getting my items to google.
Also, I already have a google base account for another data feed. Do I have to create a new google base account to add another feed
Thanks, Charlie

Hello Charlie,

You would need a new Googlebase account in order to set this up. You may set it up for your Vendio account by going to "Channels" --> "Comparison Shopping" --> click the "Set Up Google Product Search Account" link and follow the steps. Please let us know should you have any trouble with this.

Regards,
Nathan

Thanks Nathan,

I am getting an error "• Not a valid user name/passwd. Please specify a valid username/passwd " when trying to create the account. I am using the ftp user name and password that I set up in google base.

Any idea what's causing this and how to resolve?

Charlie

Hi Nathan,
Yes I have followed the instructions. It is working now. It seems like it takes google about 30 minutes to setup the ftp account.

I sell mostly sportscards. What "product type" would be appropriate when going to distribute to google?
Can some one fill me in on the best practices here?
I have found the taxonomy browse in google. Do you cut and paste the "Text" into the type field field in vendio? Seems like alot of work. Is there a better way to set up the categories and have the feeds more automated?
Sorry for all of the questions but I am new at this.
Charlie

Hi,
My items aren't showing in Google. I checked the status and it just says disapproved. How do I get the details on why it was disapproved so I can make any corrections?
Thanks again,
Charlie

Hello Charlie,

We don't have specific information on the best category to enter for the items, but I would recommend entering "Baseball Trading Cards" as the "Type" for your baseball cards, "Football Trading Cards" for your football cards, etc.

Google will usually send you an email message with the reason for the disapproval. However, if they have not done so, please contact them and ask for clarification.

Nathan

my items do not show in google either, I noticed google asks for SITEMAPS too to be added to the website information, do you guys have this? I get the same error than the others do, also I had to insert the meta tag to verify the website manually, i also noticed that vendio's google uploads folder is incorrect.

Hello Koles,

We can send them for you, but in order for this to happen you will need to enter your Google Product Search information into your Vendio account. You may do so under "Channels" --> "Comparison Shopping" --> click "Set Up Google Product Search Account" and follow the steps. Please let us know should you have any trouble with this.

Nathan

OK PEOPLE almost a MONTH!!! AND NO ITEMS SHOW IN MY GOOGLE BASE NOR IN GOOGLE AT ALL. At this point i'm very impatient, I don't know why they take so long to fix this if they fix it for one they should fix it for all.

HOPE THEY BOTHER TO ANSWER AT LEAST.
