skorpiogal: they used to, a loooooooong time ago. But it *has* been a long time since SNL was remotely funny. I keep tuning in periodically in the vain hope that the show has taken an upswing. But no--it is now simply....embarrassing.

bunnicula I agree, In the past SNL was the funniest thing on TV. The new group makes me cringe. I watch reruns of the old shows, but you have to stay up late to do that. Phill Hartman was so funny, what a loss. John, Gilda & Chris too.

Does anyone remember the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes? I think it was voted worst movie of all time in one forum or another. I liked that movie.
Spaceballs. I think that was the name, I only made it through about 15 minutes before giving up. Maybe it had Michael Jordan in it?
Robin Hood -- Men in Tights. I have no idea why I saw that movie but it was truly awful.
That movie where Eddie Murphy turns fat and skinny, another one I thought was just plain stupid.

Never blaspheme against "Monty Python and the Holy Grail! (Don't force me to taunt you again a second time...)
Baduizm: I second your nomination of "Birth of a Nation". While I respect the technical advances made by the film, its content is stunningly awful. I remember being horrified when I saw it for the first time in a film class---I was shocked that a director could in good conscience portray the KKK as heroes. Not only that, but all the speaking parts for African-American characters are played by white actors in blackface. Even D.W. Griffith's casting is racist.
My nomination for stupid movie: "Con Air". "Reindeer Games" was also a huge mess.

Sometimes a 'stupid movie' becomes one of my 'guilty pleasures'. There is one movie in particular but I don't feel guilty about liking it at all, there was some serious craftsmanship behind this B movie.
The plot was silly, in a post apocalyptic world the cast spends all it's time racing around with gasoline as the manna they require.
The lead actor had only 13 lines! (but it made him a superstar)
BUT the movie used a bunch of wild characters that grabbed your attention, the camera work was tops, and the editing is a perfect example of what great editing can do for a movie.

The movie voted worst ever was I think " Plan 9 from outer Space" the classic from the man voted worst Director ever Ed Wood. But the movie about his life Ed Wood with Johny Depp as the lead character was great!

xelil,
"Spaceballs" was a Mel Brooks movie.
Are you thinking "Space Jam"? (Didn't see it, but I think that was the title.)

Suicide Virgins was absolutely HORRIBLE!
And the remake of Psycho with Ann Heche is second worse for me.
Quick note: I LOVED The Planet of the Apes! Have all the movies! (...ducking...)

There is a remake of "Planet of the Apes" in the works. Makes no sense to me. Nothing will ever beat Charlton Heston snarling, "Get your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!"
