You’ve chosen only one line to comment on and have titled it: “So this is what Astrology is all about?” I've heard of condensing data but this is pretty amazing.
It’s obvious that, like most of us, you don’t have the depth of knowledge and understanding of Astrology that VeryModern does. Whether you believe in Astrology or not isn’t an issue for me. But, I am with the others who are wondering what your motives were - if not an attempt to discredit her and her beliefs?
Do you have to believe in something before you tolerate other people believing in it? Your dismissal of astrology would hold more weight, IMO if you had any real knowledge of the subject.

I would like to publicly thank VeryModern for taking the time to inform me about somthing that I knew very little about.
Believe....Don't Believe....Whatever. The important thing, in my mind, is that a poster took the time to educate others. I, for one, respect and appreciate her for that.
I don't know what harm there is in understanding the theories of someone elses belief(s).

I begin to understand more an more about astrology and how it is practiced.
If someone professes skepticism and asks for a demonstration of this science then a knowledgeable and experienced astrologer apparently will make predictions or an opened ended or ill defined time span.
Predictions that might be ascribed to any number of events depending on the faith or naivete of the person looking for confirmation of the prediction.
Very Modern has just waffled on her predictions for me by saying they were for later in this year. And has added on all of next year to boot.
Seems very adroit to me. Who hasn't had some misfortune befall them in a two year time period?
The nature of the misfortune is not indicated so should I have a minor fender bender; my car stolen; a traffic ticket; the death of a loved one; a financial setback; a broken appliance or costly home repair; any thing at all that isn't all roses, the astrologer can point to that as confirmation of their predictive art and power.
In VM's thread I posted that I was a skeptic and asked for something that I felt was specific enough to overcome my reasonable objections to the vagueness that surrounds astrology.
I still am waiting for astrology to rise to the challenge that it is real science by a demonstration through scientific method.
Repeatable results by disinterested parties.
My posts on astrology have ridiculed no one. Have not been intended to set anyone up.
I believe I quoted the entire post sans author. To accuse me of taking that post out of context is unfair.
If you believe in astrology then nothing I might post here is apt to change your mind.
Ironically enough, I've posted here on AW about my skepticism and have offered VM the opportunity to change my mind. And what do I receive in return? Vague predictions about the ill tidings in my future. Accusations that I have a personal conflict with VM. Accusations that I have some hidden agenda.
Not what I had hoped for but in retrospect, rather what I had expected.
