LOL mike on your big mouth. I ordered same day you posted so I just hope I get them now. But if back ordered maybe the post office will keep this kind of box. They did a few different sizes once and then stopped making them real quick so hope that ain't the case here.

Well my order is starting to come in. Got my 12 cases of 1097 Priority box's today but no shoe box's. Hoping their setting in the PO. Usually takes my mail carrier 4 or 5 day's to deliver my whole order. She can only fit so much in her station wagon and I had told her years ago to just deliver whatever she has room for every day. Will update when and if they show up.

I called this morning and ordered some of these boxes in the new size. That's all I ordered, so I guess we shall see if I get them! Ordered extra for our little p.o., too.

They're having trouble getting the shoes to go in those boxes. Even though the boxes are free, the shoes are $25.00 per pair and they will collect C.O.D. You did happen to read that part in the fine print, didn't you?

Just got my "Shoe Boxes" today! Neat! Perfect size for two small figurines and protection. SOOO much better than having to fill the 12x12s with so much popcorn!
Ordered some for my local PO, too, and Roberta is pleased to have them for other locals. (Our little PO is a One-Woman operation.)

I got more boxes to day and other supplies but still no shoe boxes, I am dissapointed. Maybe tomorrow.
Pat---- What is the measurement of the shoe box and did you order both sizes or numbers and is there a difference in them??

I received my order of 10 yesterday. I'm kind of disappointed because they seem flimsy. I doubt that I will trust them for shipping glass or pottery.

irked...
The box "Inside Dimensions" reads: 7 1/2" x 5 1/8" x 14 3/8".
I have to agree with Max about the sturdiness of the material. It is a lighter weight than the 7" and 12" boxes we're accustomed to. However, they do come with self-seal tape on both ends and a 'rip-strip' for easier opening.
I can use these for shipping a couple of mint-in-box figurines, but would not use them for shipping fragiles such as fine glass, vases, etc., as Max has said. Probably great for those who ship pre-boxed items, as I do, or clothing, soft materials, paperback books (if a quick shipment is requested) and, of course, shoes!
Edited to add:
I only ordered one set of 10 boxes for myself and two for the local PO (Roberta). Just called Roberta to see if she noted a difference, and she did not get her shoe boxes at all. Everything else I ordered for her came in. Looks like "my" order was limited to ONE SET of shoe boxes.

I still have not recieved my shoe boxes and I only ordered about 20 of each I think it was. Got most of my other stuff but not all of that either. Weird they sent me double the amount of multi priority envelopes and non of the global priority ones I ordered. They have changed the design on the envelopes the flat rate ones are now all white and the tyvek are all white with the usual priority stripes and an American Flag on front side at end of stripes. This is first I have seen like them. Plus a lot of writing on them probably to stop people from cutting them down. I never did that never even thought of it until last month when I read here on board how people were doing that.
Thanks for the measurements. Hope mine come in soon may have some things to ship in them next week..

I do not sell shoes but these are a very good size for a variety of items.

Mike I think we are on bottom of their list to send the shoe boxes to. I still have not gotten them. I reordered. LOL
My last post here on this thread I said I got more envleopes than I ordered-- the multi priority tyvek ones. Well I went and looked in my email and saw they had me down for 200 of these babies it was supposed to be 20 LOL Looks like I will be hauling all the extras back to my local post office, 200 is a little overkill for me. So far 50 envleopes are here and still have not recieved all my order which said 200, I goofed or they did. I also got a large box half full of miscelaneous stuff and filled up with the neat air pack packing materials, looks like the freebies with my order is mounting up. Don't know that I trust the air packs but have used them on non breakable soft goods.

I ordered 75, and got 50 today. Gave half to the P.O. Haven't opened the pack yet.
Irked: I have a great source for those air pillows and use them all the time. I pack them into the tops of priority boxes after wrapping breakables in bubble wrap and using peanuts in the bottom of the box. I haven't had anything break since 3 years ago when I used another method, LOL.
Today I had to ship an old-fashioned washboard with glass in it. Had to look for 2 days to find a box big enough, but it was way too large. I put empty shoe boxes in the bottom of the box, wrapped the item in bubble wrap, then used those air pillows around the sides and on the top. (I guess my theory is that the box will more often be upright then upside down. But someday it'll bite me, I'm sure.) As I said, though, no one has complained, and nothing has arrived broken.

This new box does sound interesting. While no one at my PO has ever mentioned not being able to order boxes themselves, they are sometimes out of certain sizes. Any time I've brought up the large quantites one must order online, they have always told me to just bring in any extras to the PO.
Thing is, most of what I've sold in the past couple years can be sent media, and that is generally what buyers want (although had one in HI that complained of media being slow!).

I received my shoe boxes with my other boxes. I sent half to my Post Office and ordered 5 boxes for them. My Priority stickers and envelopes for customs came about a week later, but were ordered at the same time.

Thanks for the heads up on these boxes!
Our postmaster looked quite envious when he saw them! Told him I would order him some.
For some reason, he is not allowed to order the 12 inch priority cube, so I always order extra for them.
Very strange how the USPS denies certain items to some of the smaller P.O.'s and they have to ask the customers to order them for them.
But since it is a government agency, I don't waste time trying to figure it out logically. I know logic doesn't apply.

Susan

Like I said previously. I had to open my big fly trap, I still haven't gotten my box's. I think their on the slow boat being dragged by mules to my house.
As for the PO not being able to order some supplies that has alway's baffled me also. I recently suggested to the Postmaster at the local PO that he just go to the USPS website and order them. Have them shipped to him by name to the PO address. He looked at me (with a stumped look) and said, why didn't I ever think of that. He placed a order the other week and said they came in. He had never thought of ordering them from the civilian USPS website like we do.
Maybe I'll have my box's by this Christmas.

I just received mine with the rest of my priority box orders. Looks like a pretty decent size.
One thing though. The area for the shipping label and postage is facing the wrong way. Wonder how many post offices will bark at that?

Oh Stone -- is it my day to be difficult with you? If so, my apologies up front.
The address label area is actually facing the correct way for applying labels either from PP or USPS itself. Going the other way, the internet printed label would wrap the edges (like those #4 cubes now).
Got mine within a week, and I agree they're not the sturdiest ones around, but perfect for skinny things that were too fat for a shirt type box. MUCH improved over putting two #4 end to end.
JMHO.

Unless you print your postage through Endicia then you can design your shipping labels how you like and what size you like. You can even add artwork to it.

Just shipped three (3) figurines in my *new* USPS shoe boxes. Perfect! Weighed less, too, than it would have in the 11" USPS Priority boxes.
Thanks USPS!
And...THANKS Mike, for letting us all in on it!

Oh Birgittaw,
Here is the way that the USPS requires for the placement of labels. Otherwise, technically there is an extra charge. That is why on the small and large airplanes boxes, the direction of the place label and postage is the way it is.

I agree it is silly when the labels fit so perfectly the other way, but then again, the USPS does have many stupid regulations.

Oh Stone:
True for "normal" or the old priority mail labels with your return address preprinted. Your visual clearly indicates the use of a standard label. In the case of click and ship, however, the edges of the label should not wrap over the edges of the box, which it will if you affix THAT way (at least the size labels I use)
And I guess right or wrong is determined by the PO, and if they print postage and address placement guides "the wrong way", I guess they can and call it the "right way."
BTW, what in the world is an airplane box?

Well about darn time, I fianlly got one box of shoe box size boxes in mail today. I ordered them twice and they are just now showing up. It sure took them long enough. I really like the boxes.
The second time I ordered I noticed that they have information on the 2 SBox available to order. one is for box or batch of 25 the other is for batch of 10 no size difference apparently. So darn it where is my other boxes I ordered. I think some fool snatched them along the way, noticing it said shoe box on side of it.
