Thanks to all who responded to my earlier thread about my anthropomorphic dog biscuit. I incorporated many of the suggestions I got and passed the listing by my family and friends. I added a couple of new pictures and I am about ready to take a deep breath and list.

There are a few eBay related areas where I would like the input of you who are a lot more experienced than I am. I have not sold on eBay for a couple of years and did not take PayPal when I did. I have a personal account which is more than adequate for the few payments I get for non eBay web sales and freelance jobs. Do I understand that I need a full fledged professional eBay account to accept eBay payments? Can I list without upgrading and then upgrade when/if I sell my item but stay with the personal if I end with no bids?

It was suggested that my auction might be nuked if I use Leno's name in the listing. That is possible but that one infraction should not have major impact on my eBay membership should it? I also wonder if I will get reported for keyword spamming if I list all the names that have been suggested it me. My sister says I am a wuss and should just go for it.

I intended to list in Everything Else/Weird but I took a look at that category and ran away screaming. Felt like I needed a shower. I am thinking about metaphysical but those magic crystal and wica wand people seem awfully serious. Would they report me for being in the wrong category?

Thanks for input on my questions, especially about the PayPal account. My sister says I am worrying too much and it isn't rocket science.

edited to add: I am going to give 20% to ASPCA.

I agree with your sister - you're a wuss .

Go the Everything Else/Wierd route. Going into the Metaphysical categories, while it might not get reported, would probably just be wrong.

Regarding the shower you thought you should take -- didn't you realize the marketplace you frequent (eBay) probably sells more porn and "toys" than any single web site on the Internet.

Buck up and do what you think is right. If you have no guts, then just feed the dog the biscuit and quit teasing 'em.

What a hoot!! Good luck with the auction - I hope that casino place finds you!

I guess I was out of town when you first posted about your discovery! Looks like a long-haired old lady who forgot to put her teeth in to me.

VERY good-looking auction! I applaud you. Good luck with it. (And. . .your dog is adorable.)

I wonder if Jay Leno will talk about this auction on his show.

Just thought of another way to publicize it - do some matchups and see who/what the public thinks your dog biscuit resembles.

Also when you post a matchup, your auctions appear on the screen.

A sure sign of decay... the ebay pulse page,at the moment is nothing but sex and how to get rich quick on ebay!!!!! Like that is a 9 out of 10 sure thing! RIGHT! OH and in only 45 days you can loose 100lbs and be wealthy beyond your wildest dreams. Only in ebay land.... I hope the pup biscuit brings a touch of class to the page and $ to photo!

Gosh do I sound cynical this morning!

BJ, As I said in the first post on this thread, After looking in the "Weird" category I felt like taking a shower. I know there is at lot of sleazy stuff on eBay but I don't see much of it in the searches I do.

I now have 134 hits. I have heard some of you talking about how many watchers you have. Is that on your "MY eBay" page? If so can someone direct me to the place to see it?

Thanks for your help.

Look on your my ebay selling page where the item shows up you listed out to right side is the watched column, and number of bidders column and the time left, that is where you see how many are watching your item ..

If the watched column is not there you may need to add that column by editing what shows on your selling page? don't remember if you can add or delete those columns of not but thought I would throw that in just in case you didn't see a watch column.

Make that 25 watchers..I just added it to my list.
What a neat auction, I think we all needed a bit of 'light relief'.

Someone should contact the Jay Leno show..

Good luck, I shall be following the progress.

I went to the tonight show website, but there is not an actual catagory to suggest an item, so under Suggest a Guest email address ([email protected]) I just put in The Jay Leno Dog Biscuit with the auction number. Maybe if enough of us email, they'll check it out.
