It's likely that those who have the most knowledge of Secret Service policies, procedures and tactics, other than the agents themselves, are those who have often been "wrestled to the ground".

The official secrets book they gave me didn't offer much beyond how to spot a phony 20 dollar bill.

I would assume that if Jenna Bush did indeed go to the police station to pick up her boyfriend she would have been legitimately escorted there by the Secret Service. If an agent then went inside to pick the kid up it doesn't appear to be all that much of a misuse of authority. I can't see the guy saying, "I'll wait out here". Four hours seems about right. If this is a cover-up it's not working very well.

I reiterate; regardless of what you are reading, and regardless of what the Bush's may believe, the Secret Service will be processing the incident in a security manner and will act in accordance with their (Secret Service) conclusions.

Also, I thought it was previously implied that the student was treated in a VIP manner and released early?

Regardless of level, law enforcement agencies do not disseminate their P&P and operational manuals. Additionally, show me just one manual where all policies and procedures are included.

The "secret book" you are referring to is not a secret book and is used to assist in identifying counterfeit money and other types of counterfeit (U.S. Federal Government) negotiable instruments.

Shouldn't you be on the street supervising your troops?

I just don't see where this is any big deal.
The Secret Service has to guard the kid and it would be silly for them to not all ride in the same vehicle most of the time. If she is going to go down and pick up her boyfriend from jail or for that matter go down and pick up a pizza they are going to take her and for that matter go in and take care of things for her rather than have her exposing herself. It's a lot safer for her and actually easier for one of them to go in than to escort her in. I am sure they run all sorts of errands to make things easier for both of them rather than argue over what is directly security related and not. And if it helps how they look to yank the big mouthed kid out of the public eye I can't fault them for that either. It is just what most people would do even if they are not a political family. I have had a few times my people came down and bailed me out and it was appreciated.

Sarge,

You are so correct! Gotta keep those secrets to ourselves.

Shouldn't you be lookin' to find a clue somewhere?

Still searching for clues about Jack the Ripper, sgtmike has no time to find his butt with both hands.

Okay maybe I'm bringing up a sore point here but if it had of been Chelsea Clinton there would be a whole lot more made of this.
As far as I can see the acorn hasn't fallen far from the tree that's all.

I'm not sure that "ifs" and "would bes" are particularly valid or fair.
