I have been running Internet Explorer 5.5 for 6 months with Auction Watch and have had NO compatability problems. I went out of town this weekend and come home to find out that while trying to process payment against auctions, IE 5.5 would shutdown while trying to maneuver in Post Sale catagories. Thinking "I" had the problem, I upgraded to I.E. 6.0 and lo and behold, it is still blowing up. Does fine at ANY other site, including ebay, yahoo, and PayPal. I have done all the normals (i.e. reboot, shut everything else down,...etc) so don't make me go there. YOUR software has a bug in it. It takes me 15 minutes per auction to go thru the keys for processing. Each time I have to reload I.E. 6.0, login to Auctionwatch, find the next id nubmer, process the payments, blows up again while trying to go to the next id number, and start all over again. I have 22 pending PayPal payments to process, that is 5.5 hours of processing at this rate. HELP.
Please get this fixed.

I use IE 6.0 all the time and don't have that problem NOW!!! Used to though. I recently upgraded from Windows ME to Pro that solved everything. Are you running ME? that may be part of the problem. I had alot of trouble with AW and ME

I have the same issues here. I have tried both IE6 and IE5 sp2 and it keeps shutting down. It took me 5 times of logging in to set up 2 auctions

Hello Smcd and Docputer,
What are your browser security settings, and what if any versions of Norton Anti Virus are you running on your machines?

I have the same problem, and it is most annoying and time-consuming. I'm using IE6 on XP, never had this error when using IE5.5 on ME. I do have Norton AntiVirus 2002 installed. The error details always state it is a jscript.dll, and so far my research has led me to think it's a programming conflict. What's the story???

Hi Sonya,
Funny thing, I'm getting IE errors just trying to reply to your post! Let's try again....
My java is enabled, java permissions are set at Medium Safety.

Hi Shething,
If you turn off Norton Anti Virus while navigating through Sales Manager does that help? Or do you continue to get booted off with the same Java Script error? We are trying to narrow down what causes this error, it seems to be from a different area on the site each time.

I'll turn off NAV and try going about my business in the Sales Manager for awhile. If I get any errors I'll record all the particulars and get back to you.
Thanks,
Shething

Sonya,
I disabled NAV and logged in to AW to access My Account and update my credit card info. Entered info, hit Submit....wham! Error Signature: AppName: iexplore.exe, AppVer: 6.0.2600.0, ModName: jscript.dll, ModVer: 5.6.0.6626, OffSet: 00011a6f
Upon logging back into AW and returning to My Account, I found that the info was updated correctly.
Next stop, the Fullfillment Checklist...item #5...wham!
Error Signature:
AppName: iexplore.exe, AppVer: 6.0.2600.0, ModName: Unknown, ModVer:0.0.0.0, OffSet: 02947d02
NAV doesn't seem to be the culprit.

Well now I'm virtually shut out of AW! IE is kicking me out on practically everything I try to do, including post to this forum. Please tell me you're working on fixing this asap, because I have auctions ending soon and if I have to go thru this hassle in Post Sale, I'll be moving my auction management needs to somewhere else.

Hi Shething,
Try putting your javascript settings at low safety. What are your browser security settings at?

We are continuing to investigate this issue on the AW side, we're having difficulty reproducing the issue. However, one thing that might be helpful is to read the following Microsoft Knowledgebase article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q197388
This article is about the same type of fault, specifically with Win98 and Norton AntiVirus 5; we realize some users are running XP/2000, and have later version of NAV, but this seems to be a fairly common thread, that NAV is involved. Note that just "disabling" NAV is *not* sufficient to rule it out, it must be completely deinstalled, probably as described in the knowledgebase article mentioned above. This is a fairly technical task, so we understand this is not desirable for all users to attempt. However, it may be worth trying if you are having chronic crashes.
Again, we are continuing to investigate the issue here, and hope to have a simpler solution available soon. Thanks for your patience...

Hi Sonya,
I've set Internet Security to Low, added AW to Trusted Sites in Internet Properties > Security, Java Permissions still at medium safety.
So far, so good...we'll see what happens when I click "Post reply"...

Today I received the following error message when viewing one of my items from AW.
Syntax Error HTTP//cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/ebay/SAPI.dll?
I have never gotten this before, and it takes forever for ebay items to load from AW. Just started today. Might be related to the installation of the new software earlier this week????

Hello,
What part of loading your items to eBay from AuctionWatch seems to be taking longer than usual?
When you click to launch your items, are they stuck in the pending section saying 'processing' for longer than ususal or?

I would prefer NOT to remove my virus protection.
BTW, even after changing the browser settings as posted above I am still getting jscript.dll errors.

Hi Sonya
No, funny thing is I never get any error messages, no warning at all and
always when in Post Sale ( and not while I printing invoices or anything)
Computer just shuts down after screen goes black and automatically restarts
itself and takes me back to desk top, always ! Just like if I shut it down
by pushing the button on computer
Thanks in advance

Hi Gina50,
It looks like the problem does have to do with your Norton Anti Virus software. What version do you use? Please refer to the above post in yellow for more information.

If it's NAV, then why doesn't this error occur anywhere else? I'm certainly not going to uninstall my virus protection for the sake of one webpage. I think it's up to AW to correct the conflict, not suggest it's users uninstall NAV.

I agree with shething .... I go back and forth from email to auction manager pro all the time .... would be a big pain to turn it off and turn back on .... yikes !!!!!!!!!!
Also ...... why wouldn't it happen all the time ??? .... only happens sometimes !

Gina50,
If I understand it correctly, they are suggesting that we *uninstall* NAV, not just disable it or turn it off. As I said, I'm not going to uninstall my essential virus protection because of a programming conflict with one webpage. I believe it's up to AW to correct the problem since it seems to occur only on their webpage.
Am I understanding this correctly, Sonya? Or are you saying uninstall NAV and re-install it to correct this problem?

Hi shething,
From Ben's post above (in yellow) that Microsoft article seems to say you have to completely uninstall it. This is not something you should do unless you are 100% comfortable with the process mentioned in the help file at Microsoft.
This is only a workaround/troubleshooting option to see if it will resolve the issue or not. Engineering will continue to work on this issue until we find complete resolution. Thus far, we have been unable to replicate even using the same OS and NAV software - making troubleshooting difficult.

Thank you, Christopher. I will anxiously await resolution of this problem by your engineering department.
Should I find the time tomorrow to attempt the cumbersome process of uninstalling NAV temporarily, I will post my results.

I didn't attempt to uninstall NAV yet, but I have been getting another error besides jscript.dll lately while navigating in AW. This Error Report contains a link which takes me to Microsoft Help and Support (Q320219) which states that it is MacroMedia Flash Player 5.0 causing this particular error. Once again, I get this error nowhere else but in AW. I updated Macromedia Player as instructed but I continue to get this error and the jscript.dll error. I am having *much* difficulty in Sales Manager, especially in the Fulfillment Checklist, trying to process my winning bidders info. Please advise as to the current situation.
