What is going on? On every auction, I use the EOA notice in auction manager. I carefully list all the shipping and payment auctions to make it as easy on the buyer as possible. I send them out the morning following each auction's close. EVERY week, I have two or three buyers who then email and say send me your address and payment information. Is it just me or what?

Hi Bowtiefifty,
Sometimes buyers will bypass the WBN and ask for you to email your information. One thing you can do is alter your WBN email message to try to coerce them into filling out the form.

Hi Bowtie!
I have 99% response rate through the WBN. If you'd like, I'd be happy to email you a copy of what I've edited it to say, both in the subject line and in the body of the email.
I read tons of complaints from AW members about how nobody ever sends their forms back - I tend to think it's the wording they're using. Anyone else who'd like a copy of mine, I'd be more than happy to share it.

My experience is that some people simply refuse to use a third-party service, others use email filters that kick out the EOAs and still others just don't pay attention to the email they've received.
I tried everything I could to entice people to fill out the form and was finally getting about 80 percent response until the new "enhancements" that, among other things, lead people to believe they have to enter their address twice, and after three pages of forms still can't pay for the item. After the enhancements, my compliance rate dropped below 50 percent and I was getting bombarded with comments like "your checkout is too complicated" or "this is stupid, just send me your address and how much I owe you."
I concluded that since AW wasn't going to stop ticking off my customers, I'd better do something. I've now altered my WBNs to include all the info the buyer needs, including my address. The only thing they have to do is calculate the total after choosing a shipping option. Going to the AW checkout is optional. I'm getting paid faster and people are much happier. It means I have to fill in the buyer's info, but at least i'm not alienating customers. Of course it is starting to raise the question of what I need AW for.

abqsales: As far as I know, you can't edit the internal areas of the WBN, only the text prior to it, which is done through the Post Sale Management Options. How are you editing out the name & address fields so customers don't have to fill it out? Just curious...

I'm thinking of selling something to myself - using my bidding ID - just to experience the AW post sale process first hand. I'm still getting comments from buyers that it isn't working (the majority of those are webTV users) and some who claim that they never received the WBN (my copy came through).
These things started occuring more frequently after the enhancements were rolled out - wonder if there is a connection?

Biffette, I'm interested in seeing it too. I'm at [email protected]
I have maybe a 50% success rate with the form but I also get a lot of winners asking me to send the information, even after the WBN goes out. Not all of the buyers are crazy about the form--sometimes it just doesn't work for them. Then just yesterday I had one buyer who wrote that he hated the form and would never buy from me again. I asked him why and he responded that he doesn't like companies like AW getting his personal information. Then not more than two hours later I had another buyer write and say it was the most professional and efficient form they'd seen. Just goes to show...

I'd like a copy as well. I'm not sure when I'll list again as my brother just died in April and I just haven't felt up to it but I'd like a copy of your EOA message anyway. Thanks

Hi,
Sure would like to take a look at it myself. I have about a 70% success rate with the WBN. I would love to increase that. Thanks so much.

PS - you're getting alot of requests would it be easier just to post it here? Just a thought. Thanks either way!

Hi, Biff am curious send me a copy please. I include all the information in my WBN and ask that they at least reply to the email since it is sent from my email or reply to is my email. Anyway the WBN response is just about nil most saying it oes not work, and some I do wonder if they get the WBN but most do. When I just sent the WBn with general information I got everyone to reply to me direct wanting information they just got so I am stumped why people can't read. If you would please send copy of yours to [email protected]

Hey Biffette and all - looks like we're all in the same boat, huh? Auctionwatch, I love ya' but ya' gotta do something to simplify the checkout process. Why can't it all be on one page? Only one name and address field to fill out? USA as a default country? Anyway, Biffette, I TOO would like to see your WBN. Can you maybe post here? I see you are getting inundated. Thanks - [email protected]

Hi Everybody,
No problem emailing the wording to anyone who wants it. I just do a "copy and paste" real quick-like. I'm sure you'd all do the same for me. I would post it here but it is rather long and this isn't the proper forum -(I don't think they'd appreciate it and may remove it anyway). So request all you'd like! =)
I agree with the "1 page checkout", skip the "Ship To:" part, make USA the default, etc. That would certainly be a good step. =)

Biffette, please send me a copy of what you put in the EOA e-mails too. I have had 3 people this week say they cannot get the check out to work. Just now saying they click to complete process and get an error message "Oops! You must select a shipping method". I think this is on a combined item. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Hi all,
after carefully reading all the message in this thread I am now able to post some replies:
- for everybody: we know that the WBN page is unusable for WebTV customers. e are working on this issue and expect a fix to be provided in the following days;
- for Abqsales: indeed some people (and / or their ISP) filter their EOA e-mails. A possible solution would be to change the subject of the notice (via MyAccount > Post Sale Mgt Options page) to something less 'aggressive' then "Congratulations...";
- for Biffette: count me on for your WBN e-mail! We surely do appreciate any feedback from our users. The contents of your notice may be used for future enhancements of our products;
- for Mamallama12: I will pass your suggestions regarding default country. Unfortunately, for the sake of completness, we must keep the ship to section, as well as the other ones.
-for everybody (again): any feedback on how should we simplify the WBN process will be appreciated, so please add posts to this thread.
