I tend to agree with damariscotta on eBay's end goal BUT latest moves seem to be so "bi-polar" it's hard to believe there is a plan.

Take the latest move - four days' notice to discontinue digital downloads on the site. CRAZY! It seems like someone decides that DDs present a problem to the DSR system and he does away with the whole market. Does this make sense?

Digital downloads are the media of the future. I don't buy CD's any more - I download i-tunes. Movies will be digitally delivered - good-bye DVD sellers. Yet eBay shows media sellers they are loved by reducing fees..say WHAT? WHY hitch your wagon to a dying horse when they could have led online sales of DD media?? For DSR's??? Talk about the tail wagging the dog!

A snippet from the Auctionbytes site re upcoming eBay pricing changes:

"He also said Tilenius promised "even bolder and faster changes at eBay, stating that eBay's goal is to deliver a more retail-like experience."

See? No crystal ball required.
