(well hardly at all) I didn't have any of the nicotine sweats - I didn't get the shakes even once and I only had a few minor OMG moments. I didn't expect to be doing this well with only 4 days into it but every day seems to get a little better. I'm telling you guys if I can do it then I know you can. I loved my cigs for 30 years...
The only time I've been tempted to cheat was when one of our neighbors was talking to me with an unlit cigarette in his hands. OMG, I followed it's every move like a dog in heat. But, I didn't ask him for one and yesterday I would have. The day before that I would have kicked his a$$ and taken it from him without even asking. So, see every day is a little better.
No whining today!!! I'm totally thrilllllllled. I hope it gets easier for the rest of you too!

I watched a show last night that might help you with your smoking problem. It was about Feng Shui, which uses ancient Chinese principles to help people arrange their homes so they live in harmony with the natural flow of energy. It is supposed to improve health, wealth, happiness, etc.
Now, I'm new at this, but I'd start by having you rearrange your furniture. First, put all your ex's furniture outside on the sidewalk. (Do you feel the increased energy yet?) Second, put all of ex's clothes and personal items neatly next to the furniture---or, just throw it out the window randomly and let Nature arrange it...well, naturally. Then, run around the apartment singing "Ta Bu Zai" an old Chinese song that has been translated into English...you know it as "Ding Dong, The Witch Is Gone".
Yes, a Feng Shui consultant might be just what you need.

But what I found after a while is that the smell made me feel sick. I kid you not. This is a dinky di truth. If I am out shopping and someone is smoking near me, it actually makes my stomach turn. YUK.
It still does not stop me from sometimes wanting a smoke when I am really stressed out. So long as I do not weaken and give in, and I have no intention of doing that, I have come a long way in 4 months and so has my husband. We can not afford to give up now.

Also MYBID - Oh yeah, I do that, too! For Christmas we go see the hubbys family in Georgia. The big thing is to go to Grandmas on Christmas day. EVERYONE is there. Well, it just happened that his step-brother's wife smoked cloves - guess who I kept visiting all day? LOL She kept offering me one, but I said na, I just wanna' SMELL 'em! They don't even have to be LIT - just let me smell the pack! I was just sitting there holding her pack of cigs and just opening it every once in a while to get a whiff. (yeah, I know! REALLY pathetic!)
Anywho - keep it up guys! It'll get better! One of the first things my husband noticed was actually being able to TASTE stuff again! So just IMAGINE how good chocolate will be when you get your taste buds back! LOL
Back when he was first being able to taste things again - the hubby sat down to one of his favorite snacks. He would eat a lemon, with a hole cut out of the top and a MOUNTAIN of salt poured into the hole. Then he would squish it up a bit, suck up the juice, pour some more salt in, and repeat until the lemon was dry. (yeah, Eeeew!) Well he tried this one day after he was getting his taste buds back, and you should have just SEEN the look on his face! LOL I about fell in the floor!

Tigerlady, I drink straight lemon juice, but only because I find it helps me
get through winter without major illness. I have to drink it real fast, followed by a big glass of water or cordial to get the taste out of my mouth. LOL
But sucking on a Lemon (if you could see the look on my face right now just even thinking about it), Yukky poo!!!!
Sorry but just the thought of it gives me a tart taste in my mouth.

Good morning! I'm doing such a happy dance. I actually went through the whole night without waking up in a nicotine fit! Wow! What a feeling... Who else is over the nicotine sweats??? Some of you have been off the cigs long enough that it should be starting to get out of your system by now? I keep telling myself that as long as I never smoke again I'll never have to go through anything like that again. Crazy thing is a part of me would still love just "one more drag." Baaahhhh!
I noticed this a.m. that there are no ashes around my computer or desk. I don't know why that seemed surprising... what did I think? That an ash fairy was going to keep sprinkling the ashes after I quit.
I think we're all doing great if for no other reason then everyone is refusing to give up! I'm pulling for all of you every minute of every day until you all put the last cig down! Go us!

Ya know, just for the record, I knew this witch had a mean streak in her and that is why I actually was the one to break it off - ON MY BIRTHDAY last August no less. There was a birthday party for me, and she was SOOOO RUDE to my BEST FRIENDS - GASP!!! NO ONE INSULTS ROCKER'S FRIENDS!!! I broke up that night. NOT because I didn't love her, but because I knew this mean side of her was trouble and I will not have anyone treat my friends this way. I'm a Leo, we are extremely loyal. VeryModern would say I had no business being with a Scorpio anyway LOL!!!! NO OFFENSE TO SCORPIOS!!! But this particular Leo and Scorpio combination is a NO NO. I DID let her move in here later because she had no place to go and as chepi said I thought "We can remain friends"... well - I guess not. LOL!! I will not be treated with such disrespect, and I have my own problems to take care of (don't we all?) without her added DRAMA. UGH!!!

I'm so happy to read this good news. I was feeling old and depressed this morning. I went to my screenwriting class and one girl (skinny young thing) pitched a story about a "period piece" set in the 1960's. The 1960's is considered a period piece!! Then, I must be a blinking dinosaur. Next, this young grocery-boy-looking guy says he doesn't want to share his movie idea with us because some of us are too old to understand a Hip-Hop concept. What? Hey, punk, I drink Sprite, too! All I can say is they are both lucky I had no bricks handy....and, that by the end of class I had forgotten which one said what (early Alzheimers, I guess.)
Now, however, I feel happy. You guys are great and we will stick together until your cigarette thing (and my Chalupa addiction) are history. I'm 5 days now without a Chalupa. It hurts.
