And now I need a cigarette.....I wish there was a healthy cigarette...I dont ask for much...I give to the humane society....I pick up stray dogs on the street...I hold open the doors for old ladies.

Now why cant someone make a cigarette for me to smoke that wont kill me?

LOL Yadda I swear, I always say the same thing!! Like CAN'T THEY INVENT A HARMLESS CIGARETTE? My best friend said "I don't know, I kinda think burning anything and INHALING it into your lungs can't be a good thing." Hmmpf She's got a point there. Sigh.

I'm wondering now if I can quit March 15 and be a couple weeks behind you guys...and stop lettin the weed be the bossa me. Yeah, YOU GUYS go first, then let me know how it is in 2 weeks, and THEN I'll decide. Haah

OH I know... maybe I will quit April 1. Then if I mess up I can say "APRIL FOOL! I wasn't REALLY gonna quit, I was only playin".

HEY GUYS! Sorry to be late to the party.

My 10-yr old son went for a 30 minute hike up the mountain behind our house. When he hadn't returned after 2 hours, I became a bit concerned. Hubby is working late, so I had to put on my SuperMom cape and hike up the mountain to find him. One hour of daylight left, mind you. Picture this: the trail is about 5 to 6 feet wide with steep cliffs on each side--like walking up the back of a dinosaur.

These were my thoughts as I hiked up:

1. If he's not already dead, I'm going to kill him.

2. I wonder if Rocker & the others have been able to quit smoking today.

3. I need new hiking shoes.

4. I live in a beautiful place.

5. I hope he's okay.

6. I wonder how Rocker & the gang are doing.

7. I missed my afternoon tea.

8. I wish I had a Chalupa.

9. I promised the gang I would quit eating Chalupas.

10. Yes, but how will they know?

11. Because I will rat myself out.

12. There are no Chalupas on this trail.

13. I hate hiking.

14. I wonder how Rocker and the gang are doing.

15. Where is that blasted boy?

16. How am I going to tell my husband I misplaced his son?

17. I'm too old to be doing this.

18. I sure hope Rocker and the others are okay.

Well, I found him safe and sound. He said he took a wrong turn and ended up at an ancient Hawaiian burial ground and then was chased by a pit bull that belonged to the park manager. I noticed as we walked home he was careful to stay out of my hitting range.

I'm going to go write out his list of punishments and then soak in a hot lavender bath. Carry on without me!!

Hang in there all you future non-smokers. One step at a time. I care about all of you.

Evening all

{{{BEH's}}} for all the new smoke free folks that are just now seeing the tiny light as things seem to get a bit easier.

And a very special Big Electronic Hug for Rocker. Kind of a low class, low blow for ya - Y dontcha make the eviction date a date to "Clean out" some other things as well - Great moment for a new begining.
BEH

Not to derail - But I cannot fathom this NYC thing of Ex's being there (Maybe it's not just a New York thing) I guess it's just my southern poor white upbringing - where it is durned likely that gunfire will go along with ANY breakup (usually over who gets custody of the bass boat) (Or if the gunrack that he put in the back of the wifes oldsmobile was a gift - or if it still belongs to him)

As far as the Feng Shui stuff goes - I cannot think of a better use for it in order to balance your life with the new space where the old bag-gage used to be. (Nutspec is being bad tonight)

I spoke with a biochemist today especially about nicotine and the things your body has to do to adjust to the loss of it from your systems. He started speaking in tongues it seemed - about endocrine reactions, hormonal spasms, Etc. All I really got from him that was understandable was -

"Nicotine makes a great bug killer and has many solid insecticidal uses - But it has no business being in the human body and nervous system"

Keep the faith you all - Nutspec

Has anyone heard from Boot's. She appears to be missing from the last couple of days.

Boot's, are you alright. We are all still here if you need us. I hope you are not feeling too low or anything. This withdrawal bit can be hard, so you hang in there. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Miscandle, you have my sympathy. LOL My sons' used to dissappear on a regular basis and they still do only they are older now and I don't stress so much.

My 16 y.o. and his mate go for walks late at night to the servo to get coke or junk of some kind, and I am always afraid that they are going to fall in the River. They tell me I am being stupid, but I tell them it is my job as a mother to worry, and if my 16y.o. wasn't over 6' I would still smack him over the head. Only now I can't reach to whack him. LOL And he can run faster than me.

Rocker, do I have to sell my house and come to NY to straighten you out girl. Gee are you lucky I love you. Hahahaha You will get back on track when the time is right for you. If it is now, you will know within yourself. Do not beat yourself up and do not let anyone else beat you up over it either.

Yadda, you whine all you want , that is what this is all about. We are all friends here and you can say and do whatever you want. Well within moderators' reason anyway. LOL

I hope everyone else is hanging in there and still doing good.

Edited because I was so busy singing along with Suzi Q that I didn't check the spelling. LOL

I'm still here. My grandson had a couple of snow days off from school and I had to watch him while my daughter went to work. By the time she picks him up and I have dinner, I'm too tired to do anything. I go to bed super early. Thanks for asking. I just noticed the party thread is now in two threads. While I don't stay up long enough to participate, I get a kick out of reading it. Have a great day everyone. By the way, my morning hacking is all but gone. Getting easier. Go TEAM!

"Nicotine makes a great bug killer and has many solid insecticidal uses - But it has no business being in the human body and nervous system" What an eye opener Nutspec I think I'll put that on a poster and tack it to the wall.

Bootsnana I'm glad to see you and to see that you're passing another milestone. Yesterday went pretty well for me. I had a pretty big panic attack hit me in the late afternoon and thought I was going to cave in to it. I told my daughter to go borrow a cig from our neighbors (I just wanted one drag) Luckily, she never listens to me. Anyway, after some heavy breathing reminiscent of 10 the baby is coming any minute kinda labor pains I finally snapped back to reality and seem to be o.k. again.

It's good to see everyone hanging in there. Chepi Have the nicotine sweats stopped for you yet? I feel like mine are done. THANK GOD! I think the panic attacks are just psychological and not physical.

Here's to another smoke-free day for everyone. Rocker I think it's smart to get your roomie outta there before you try to quit. It sounds like she causes a lot of stress for you. We'll be here when you're ready!

Hi Mates!!

Nutspec {{{BEH}}}

Misscandle you are SOOOOOO funny!! Ya know that's so cute how you thought of us on that mountain. I think of you guys MANY MANY times throughout the day believe me. By the way, I think your son's punishment should've been he had to go on another hike to get you a Chalupa.

So now what the hell do I do, I am like a week behind all you guys. Don't ya just love how I started this thread and I am the only one smoking like a chimney? I have mixed feelings, I agree with those of you who said to just try again and jump back in, but I also agree with MyBidd about getting through the stress of this month first, and Nutspec's idea of cleaning house all at once. Hmmm. I really don't want to make excuses to keep smoking, but at the same time, I have to tell you guys, this is an EXTREMELY stressful situation and I am NOT used to living like this!! I was used to living alone in peace for YEARS! Ya know, for a rock n roller, it's amazing how drama-FREE my life was. LOL!! Well that is NOT the case right now. Now that this hasn't worked out with her here and I have thrown her out, of course she is angry and is making my life a living hell. I stayed out till after midnight in the city tonight just roaming around, just to be out of the apartment and away from her, I cannot take the stress and the constant antagonizing. Ya know that Talking Heads song "This is not my beautiful house, this is not my beautiful wife, my god, what have I done, and you may ask yourself, SELF, HOW DID I GET HERE???"

You don't have to mark it on a calendar or worry about who's ahead of you ~ we are all with you ~ no one is out front, no one left behind.
You didn't make it this far by giving up when things get tuff ~ just regroup and refocus ~ we are here for you whatever you decide.

You know when you guys' get through with the smokes do you think we can work on my chocolate addiction. LOL

It is getting really bad, so bad in fact my daughter will not let me near the lolly isle in the supermarket. I sneak in when she is at work. Hahaha I WIN!!!!!

Smoking was a way of life for me and when that way of life was gone I subsituted it with chocolate. Not a good thing for the hip, or waistline let me tell you.

IMHO, no one in their right mind would EVER give up chocolate. It is our right as human beings to indulge in tantalizing treats. There is nothing more heavenly than chocolate. Those who deprive themselves have filled our loony bins for centuries . Consider yourself warned ~ we will not be held responsible if you boldly go where no man has gone before.....
I've been replacing NICK with Haagen Dazs swiss almond vanilla ~ mmmmm...gotta love those choco covered almonds! yummy! a moment on the lips...life's not worth living without chocolate, though!

Things are calm (for now). If it gets bad again, ya know, forget the one month notice, I CAN and WILL change the locks and she will find her @ss back on the street where it belongs. I will not tolerate this kind of abuse in my own home for crying out loud.
Vent is over.
So how are all my non-smoking chocolate-eating pals tonight?
I agree, NO quitting chocolate. Here is my list of things I have NO intentions of quitting:
CHOCOLATE
SUGAR
CAFFEINNE

Here is what I am quitting:
Smokes
GIRLS <--- I say this every two years or so.

BEH's for Everyone! Especially Rocker - Keep locksmith handy - dirty tricks abound in the last week or so.

Is it just me - or is the volume coming down in here from the new non - smokers?

Early on in this thread there was an awful lot of this "gotTa HAVe a SMokE! Yahhhh!!! I give So MUcH and Ask foR So LITTLE!! All I aSk for now iS To, . .wrap FingERs arounD SomboYd's Neck! ARguuu..."

We've made it to chocolate and chalupas stage now - Signal to Frenzy ratio coming down.

And seriously - if you doubt me about the bug killer - if you have a old bottle of "Blackleaf 40" insecticide - just check the ingredients. Nicotine.

Hey girl! Listen.....if there is one thing we all can say about smoking is that you have to WANT to quit! KNOWING you should quit and WANTING to quit are two different things. You will quit when you are ready. Quit beating yourself up over it! We will love you whether you smoke or not! Don't worry about who is ahead of you. You'll deal with it when you're ready!

Well, I almost made it a week. On Friday I went into a tailspin when I realized that I'd actually gone a whole week without a cig and so of course all I could think of was having one more. So, I went to the local cigarette outlet where they keep samples up front and asked for a sample. I came home and smoked it - all of it. But, it got the panic out of my system so I'm back on target and doing very well. I've told myself that I can have one cigarette every Friday. LOL

I added it up and at 2 packs a day I would have smoked 400 in the last 10 days so I don't feel too bad about giving in to one.

I'm past the nicotine cravings but I still have occasional panic attacks... I guess those will last for a while longer.

Rocker Since you wouldn't accept my payment for your FABULOUS tape I've sent you a no-fail Stop Smoking Kit! You should get it anyday.

Enchanted Are the nic sweats gone yet? Where's the rest of our new non-smokers?

Btw, a warning for everyone - If you eat about 100 Lifesaver mints in a three day period... you'll get what we'll call an upset tummy. Let's just say I can clear a room in 30 seconds flat lately! LOL

Mybid and yadda, that is FANTASTIC!!! I am so proud of you both.

Mybid, from 400 cigarettes to one ?!!! Attagirl that is absolutely amazing. Why don't you try hypnosis for the panic attacks too, seems like it worked really well for you on the smoking cravings.

I "quit" over a year ago, mybiddness, but I usually relapse and cheat once or twice a month. This time that I was going to relapse and smoke I came to this thread and chepistar talked me through it (thanks chepi). For me that is progress. I left the nicotine sweats behind long ago, fortunately.

Ummm, those sugarless candies are even worse! LOL. Don't eat a whole bag of them to get you over smoking unless you live alone and have handy access to a bathroom. ROFL.

Rocker, hope you are ok, in all ways. Please stay with us and if you want to try again on Monday go for it. Good idea.

Hi Enchanted I have been thinking about asking her for another tape to help me get through these panic attacks. She guarantees her work... so that might be a good next step.

I'm actually going for long blocks of time without thinking about cigarettes. That's pretty amazing for me. LOL If I only relapsed once or twice a month like you are then I'd still consider that a great success!

Where's Chepi I hope she's hanging in there too.
