Fluffy? I seem to remember that name from using Vendio back in 2004ish.

Yeppers. Doing business in this location for the last ten years.

(I HEARD that collective groan!)

Fluffy: I've said before that I consider myself a feedback slut; I'll do almost anything to avoid a neg.

No one ever forgets Fluffy!!!

Adele - That's just too cute - you should put it in your TOS but then you'd be giving away a lot of stuff.

My question is why even sell a 99 item on ebay.
It's just not worth it and it seems the bottom feeders are the one who love to leave bad FB & DSR's.

I was looking for an item on ebay the other day and I found lots of the item listed at 99 cent BIN and free shipping. It was big enough that it would cost at least $1.50 to ship it. I just don't get it. What am I missing???

Like I mentioned. Older movie from '92 that isn't available for DVD purchase for affordable price. One reason why I did.

I do agree about the .99. Unless the bidding raises the price up, you may not be making any money.

Yes, I could donate it. Someone mentioned write off. Correct me if I am wrong, but I cannot write off donations on my tax return unless I itemize. At least that's what the H&R Block software says when I do my returns.

Yes, that's true, you need to itemize for charitable donations. And the rules on donations change all the time.

Ah, for the good old days when one could get by filing the short form!

The 99 cents dilemma!! IMHO, if you list it for 99 cents, it will 98% of the time sell for 99 cents. There is not enough buyers competing for the item. If you list it for $6, 7 or 9 if is is something one person wants, it will sell for $6, 7, 9 dollars. This has been my experience.

I have listed identical items (separate times)one for 99 cents, sold for 99 cents. The same item listed for $8.00 sold for $8.00. Not really a bidding war any more if only one person is interested.

Unless you are sure your item will garner interest and multiple bidders, list it for what you would be "happy" selling it for.

I also believe people think if you list it for 99 cents, it is not worth much more than that for most items. Also, people are getting used to buying stuff for 99 cents. I think Ebay has started a bad trend in offering free 99 cents listings.

list these old movies on Half.com and AMZN.com,it is free until sold.
There is a 99 cents transaction fee on AMZN marketplace unless you have a pro merchant account.
But if your movie does not run well, then better just trash it or have a garage sale.

Tell the buyer they can mail it back for a full refund, or they can keep it and you'll refund the 99 cent purchase price.

Update if anyone was curious.

As per previous posts

1. Did what was suggested, offer full refund, ask for tape back

2. Almost immediately received positive feedback

So I've waited. And still have not heard from the buyer nor received the video back.

Should I assume he just wanted me to know that the video quality wasn't good? Was he just happy that I offered to refund? Was losing a few bucks not that big of deal for him?
