hwahwa if you were to purchase 1st class parcel postage for 3ounces at the post office it would be $1.95 with no DC. Looking over my recent packages from both Paypal shipping labels and eBay shipping labels a 3 ounce package is 1.64 including DC.
I am not sure if you print the receipt or not but if you did you would see right on the receipt it says Electronic option delivery confirmation fee: NONE
So not only is the postage rate less with eBay and Paypal, you also get no cost for DC.
Yes you could game the system and print the label ahead of time, but keep in mind that eBay sends the buyer an item shipped notice and some of the info on that item shipped notice tells the buyer the it was shipped on this date and should arrive to you on this date. So the printing the label ahead of time could become an issue if the item did not arrive around the time it is supposed to arrive.
I agree that large items like furniture will have a tough time meeting the requirements. I also do not think there are a lot of sellers of large furniture on eBay so the competition would be less, and that usually means higher prices and more profit, so hopefully this will make up for the TRS 20% discount that the furniture sellers will miss out on.

thegolfingdolphin has a point-if Shag starts a website to talk about how Ebay sucks and another forum about how people can defraud others on Ebay,Ebay may shut him down,or subtly turn his lights out by making him invisible in search.
A MA comapny which sells a device used with Kindle is suing AMZN,it claims some AMZN VP called and asked for 35 % cut in commish and threatened that they can tweak the search so no one will ever find their product on AMZN.
