Dadnmom,

Just wanted to say...I haven't contributed to this thread before, but I read it every single time I visit AW and find it to be a breath of fresh air. Very uplifting. On the 29th...I didn't notice this thread but saw "Happy Day" and thought I'd wish everyone a happy day...I did not mean to upset you. Your post to me on that thread, confused me and hurt my feelings. I am so sorry if I have offended you in some way.

You seem very kind-hearted, warm, and thoughtful. It felt really bad to be singled out, wished bad things, and not even to know why........if I can do anything to "change" whatever I have done to "wrong" you, please let me know. You may email me anytime. I would love to hear from [email protected]

And I hope this thread will ALWAYS remain here. It truly is a "breath of fresh air" and makes me smile. Whatever our differences turn out to be, I hope we can look past them and become friends. I love making new friends and have enjoyed meeting many great folks here at AW and all over the internet.

My heart is sincere, when I ask, "Can we please be friends?"

Hi Wendy

I read that post and somehow don't think she was referring to you at all. I know she said "the two of you," but I can almost guarantee that it was a mistake.

If I know dadnmom as well as I think I do, she'll come on and tell you it wasn't you.

Hi MtnMama!

Oh, I sure hope you are right...I don't ever want to offend anyone...and DadandMom seems soooo sweet! I admire her a whole lot for her "smarts" and "kindness".

How are you? I hope all is going smoothly for ya!

I sure didn't get much done on my 'puter today....but, I DID put an alternator in a Honda today! LOL Can ya just see that?? Believe me...it was just as hilarious as it sounds...I think I got more grease on me, than the motor ever had on or in IT !! LOL

Dad tried to teach me a li'l about cars...I do stress the "li'l", cuz I think I learned a whole lot more about how to get dirty.

The Honda actually runs tho!! Hee Hee That in itself was my "miracle" for the day, or week, okay, for the whole millenium!

Hello all! How have you been? Life has been busier than busy at this house. Computer is fixed so I have been able to enjoy the few new posts through email but prom dress is a priority (April 7) so I haven't been on much. I have a final fitting on the girl when she arrives home from track tonight. Didn't think the school would much appreciate me showing up there to do that. Sure would work better with my schedule though. <giggle>

Twins both took 4th place in their weight class at State AAU wrestling so we are quite happy with that. Spring sports are starting in spite of the snow that keeps coming down. It's nice, wet snow though so we don't complain too loudly. Warm and melts off within an hour or so.

As I am headed to the dentist I better get a move on but I wanted to stop in and say "HI" to all. Hope B&S is feeling better by now (that flu bug we got out here took forever to get over) and a special HI to Wendy. Good job on the vehicle!!!!! Talk to you all soon!

Hello Forshoppin!

Wish I was talented enough to sew a prom dress! Seriously.....in high school, I made a pillow in 2nd 1/2 of home economics....it was sooooo pitiful, the teach transferred me back to the cooking class!! She didn't want me to fail the course! LOL She said I probably should aim for a career in cooking and avoid sewing at all costs. LOL It really WAS that bad.....but, I can cook! LOL

Sorry ya had to go to the dentist....gives me chills thinking of going...eeeek! Have never been that I didn't leave in pain.

Take care!

C Ya!

Hope everyone has a terrific evening!

Hey, I have to offer my congratulations to Wendy for being able to install an alternator in a Honda. WTG.

I also don't think dadnmom was referring to you. Your post was friendly and up-beat and fit in perfect with the title.

I'm taking one smile here and leaving two.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!!

Hi all!
Forshoppin-I cannot believe you made that-I am good with some crafts but I could never sew a dress like that in a million years! Great job!

Hi dadnmom!

Has anyone heard anything about ballsandstrikes? Someone said he was ill-how is he doing?

I am just passing by with a Monday Hello, and wishing you all a good day. Coffee, tea, espresso, latte, hot coco, or cappuccino all ready for your pleasure......help yourself to a cup.

forshoppin: What a beautiful Prom Dress! I know your daughter had a wonderful Cinderella evening in that gorgeous gown. What a lucky young lady. WOW! I have trouble with buttons. Beautiful!

Citygirl: No, I haven't seen ballsandstrikes posting around either....I sure hope he is doing ok.

coinsunlimited: Thanks for leaving two smiles....you have no idea how badly we (me and dad) need even one right now.

nanabees: Putting a alternator in a Honda or any car is wonderful. I put oil, and fluids in my car (oh, plus gas - California...you have to pump your own), you and forshoppin are full of cool skills. That is so cool that you can do something like that. I wish I could. I just paid 40.00 for an oil change. ( I know terrible huh?

mtnmama: GOOD~MORNING to you .........I know there is a snap in the air where you are this morning. I remember those cool mornings.

I haven't been around in a little while.......but I have read some of the posts.....It makes me feel good to know that people are keeping the meaning going here.......so cool of everyone. Really......it is nice.

I shall return soon, but not before noon........so smiles all around to all that need one.......

Hello All!

DadnMom,
Thanks for the confidence.....hop on across to SC and I'll change that oil for free!! LOL
Messiest jobs are sometimes the most fun!

ForShoppin,

That Prom Dress is AWESOME!!! That is REAL talent!! You should be sooooo proud!!

I went to Spartanburg, SC last night(Sun), to see "The Passion" play. First time I've ever seen it. Was well worth the $8 ticket!! Such a professional performance! An orchestra, fantastic lighting, realistic props/costumes, fog/rain/lightening/thunder, and a "live" dove flew down and perched on Jesus' arm!! This told the story of Jesus, from Baptism to Resurrection. I am so thankful that I found time to go! It left me soooo uplifted!

If you ever get the opportunity...this play is well worth seeing, no matter who puts it on!

Happy Easter All!!!

Have a safe holiday, filled with love, laughter, and togetherness!!

Wendy

Good Monday Evening.

Dadnmom.....Always an uplifting experience reading your kind and gentle posts. Great thread.

Forshoppin.....Beautiful!!! You should be very proud.

Nanabees.....We go to a Passion Play every year. You're right, very uplifting.

A good Tuesday afternoon to you all.

First I must inquire of ballsandstrike. Has anyone heard of his health? I do so hope he is feeling better soon.

Well I am to late to leave the morning assortment of beverages. So I propose afternoon tea and scones for all interested. Warm honey on the side..

nanabees: Oil changes are not my thing at this point. I can see me crawling on one of those rolling things that go under the car........LOL just a visual of that is way to funny......But if I go again to SC I will certainly stop by and we can do that job together. Messes shared are more fun.

How cool that you were able to attend the Passion Play, and that you enjoyed it so much. Not to mention the great price.......It is nice to find something that uplifts the spirit no matter what it is. Life goes so fast we need to catch those moments as we can and enjoy them. theatre is very expensive in New York, and L.A. where I have been to both. I do so enjoy live theatre though. Also a good concert, any type of live music (but rock n roll is my favorite).

(Happy Easter All!!!
Have a safe holiday, filled with love, laughter, and togetherness!! )

That was very nice....same to you, and everyone here (lurkers or contributors).

I would also like to add a 'Happy Passover' too.

coinsunlimited: Why thank you. I have been called a lot of things 'online', but kind and gentle have seldom come up.........I may be getting a kinder and gentler rep......HUmmmmmmmm OK.. I like it. I will give it a try.

I must go now, as we have to take care of some things in the real world........

You all brighten my day so much. Life Happens - Enjoy it.

Hi Deichen!
Since this thread is allowed to stay up, and does not have to be about auctions, lets chat! How was your day? I had a busy one. My kids have the chicken pox!! It happens in the area every spring!! Do you have children?

Jtw74,
Hello! Yes, I have 4 children! They all had the chicken Pox, I do not envy you at all!
When my kids had the chicken Pox, they were so hard to please, sitting in the bathtub, seemed to bring them some relief. This was many years ago, I rubbed that awful pink stuff all over them. Is there a better product now?

Ah yes the pink stuff! Aveeno bath works great but is quite expensive. Instead I take old fashioned oatmeal and put it in my coffee grinder, a blender will do, and grind it up like flour. Then I put it in the bath water and it helps a whole lot! Have a great day!

Well, I hope they are over it soon. Are they past the contagious stage? How many children do you have?
Isn't this topic, great? We don't have to make sure our conversation centers around auctions!
You have a great day, too!

Hello everyone-I must admit I am here looking for smiles today! Today has not been my day-my car wouldn't start this morning, which is why I'm home in the middle of the day and not working. The alarm started going off at about 8 as I was leaving for a dentist appointment. The big problem was not only wouldn't the car start, but the alarm wouldn't stop going off no matter what I did! I tried the little switch under the dash that supposed to stop it and on it went. So I called the office of the apartment I live in as well as my town police to tell them what was going on should my neighbors complain. Finally, one of my helpful neighbors managed to get the stupid alarm to stop but I still can't start the car-everytime I try the alarm goes off again. Does anyone have a clue of what could be causing this? The battery in my alarm remote was just changed a couple months ago-maybe it's a bad battery? Anyway, now I'm home and bored and have to wait for my fiancee to get home at like 8 tonight before I can do anything! What a mess! Anyone got any good jokes? I could really use a laugh today.

Well, sorry for posting all my problems here-on the upside-I have listed my first auction and it is doing very well!!!! What a blast!

Focus on the positive and have a good day all

posted at Ebay where I thought it would do the best. I'm not citygirl on ebay. I picked up an item for $2 and I think the bidding is up to like $14. This is very exciting for me!

jtw-
Thanks, it's a song by one of my favorite singers-Waylon Jennings. My fiancee is taking me to see him in concert in Maryland in June. Anyway, this seems to say it all for me! One of the best sig lines I've ever seen here on AW is "Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here" but I can't remember whose it was.

Well, I'm much more calm than I was when I posted all that car mess earlier today. Unfortunately, I think the car battery may be dead so I could still use some jokes!

Good Wednesday to all....Afternoon beverages and smiles are being served, please help yourself.

Has anyone seen mtnmama lately? I have missed her posts.

jtw74: Hi, glad to see you here. I am sorry to hear about your kids chicken pox. My son is grown now, but when he had them as a kid, they were so bad, he had them down his ear into the ear drum. He still has three welts/scars on his body that never healed properly. He was scratching so much. We had to get anti-biotics for him it was so bad. I just remember how very sick he was, so little, and 103 fever for days. Now they have a shot you can get within 48 hours of being exposed. I believe it lessens the symptoms, but not sure. I wish your kids a speedy recovery.

deichen: Hello, haven't seen you since St. Patrick's day. How have you been?

Citygirl1: I agree with jtw74, your signature line rocks. How is Jersey weather today? I know you are so bummed about the car. Hope you get it fixed soon (without to much of an expense).

rtt: Hi, nice to see you.

Just wanted to say hello, and hope everyone has a peaceful evening.

Hi dadnmom, nice to see you! The weather here is raining, raining more, and raining still more. Did I mention it's been raining? And when it's not raining, its gray and cloudy. With the exception of Monday which was bright, sunny and hot! I almost thought we were going into the HotMuggySeason you mentioned in a previous post. Well, between the car and the weather I really have the blues but at least I can come here and grab smiles when I need to!

jtw-I really feel for you! Chicken pox stink, I had them twice! So did both of my uncles. Don't believe the hype that you can only get them once, if you don't get a bad enough case you can get them again-we all did and when we got them for the 2nd time, I was a teen and my uncles were adults and they really suffered. We had to thank my little sister for bringing them home!

I had the chicken Pox twice too! I had them as a toddler and then again in my freshman year of high school. The second time I got them, was so bad, I missed 2 weeks of school! I still was embarrassed to go back even then.

Did you hear about the teacher who was helping
one of her kindergarten students put his boots on?
He asked for help and she could see why. With
her pulling and him pushing, the boots still didn't want to go on.
When the second boot was on, she had worked up a sweat.
She almost whimpered when the little boy said,
"Teacher, they're on the wrong feet." She looked, and sure enough, they
were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them
on.
She managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the
boots back on-this time on the right feet.
He then announced, "These aren't my boots." She
bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and scream, "Why
didn't you say so?" like she wanted to. Once again she struggled to help him
pull the ill-fitting boots off.
He then said, "They're my brother's boots. My
Mom made me wear them."
She didn't know if she should laugh or cry. She
mustered up the grace to wrestle the boots on his feet again. She said,
"Now, where are your mittens?"
"I stuffed them in the toes of my boots..."
