Good Evening (or morning -depending where you live)......
Busy weekend for us. I just wanted to say to all that post here, and those that lurk to get a Good-Vibe, and the Moderators who allow this thread to stay (and I thank Them all).
I wish everyone a good week, a little sunshine your way, a happy person to make you laugh, and a bit of love to keep it together, and the stamina to get through the week.
Love to all,
mom

Good Morning / Afternoon...
Just had a minute to run in the door and say hello............I really hate seeing people getting upset over things and persons that are really not important (only in their own minds).
My nice thing to say today will be:
I hope everyone is having a nice day, and letting go of the anxiety and frustration that's around here today.....I wish Good Vibes reach everyone.........
I'm leaving 400 smiles here...please take what you need, and leave more if you have extra.

Good Morning / Afternoon:
Today, I will only say nice things.
I will not let myself get upset over unimportant things.
The weather is fantastic. The waves on South facing beaches are 3 to 5 feet (great for surfing)..... Now if I can get everything done before the rolling black outs start it will be a good day. We never use heat or air conditioning, but the stores do.....I have never figured out why. It's never that cold.. the air conditioning they are going to have to start doing without.
For those that think there electric bills are high...ours doubled as of last month.....and they (whoever 'they' are) say it is going to get worse.
I hope everyone has a good day......a happy day......and many Smiles to you, and I hope sunshine finds you.

Hello everyone! I got this great email yesterday that really helped me put all the little annoyances in life in perspective so I thought I would share it:
I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please
remember
that I do not need your help. If life happens to deliver a situation to
you
that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in
the
SFGTD (something for God to do) box. It will be addressed in My time,
not
yours. Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it.
If you find yourself stuck in traffic; Don't despair.
There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of
privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work; Think of the man who has been out of
work
for years.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; Think of the person
who has
never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; Think of the woman in
dire
straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her
children.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance;
Think of
the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; Think of the cancer
patient
in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all
about,
asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live
long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness,
ignorance,
smallness or insecurities; Remember, things could be worse. You could
be
them!!!!
Should you decide to send this to a friend; You might brighten
someone's
day!!
That about says it all! Have a great day and weekend!

A Wonderful California Good Morning/Afternooon to everyone!
Yikes! I missed the first of May.....It just kind of came and went. Thanks nanabees, I am glad someone remembered (....So many things this month. YEAH! a Monday off making a 3 day weekend. please come visit again.
deichen: I love the sayings you leave here, and share with us....They are way cool. I like Katharine Hepburn, she is a spirited and free thinking lady who was way ahead of her time.
Citygirl1: I liked the 'little annoyances' saying, and shared it with a few friends...thanks.
I was reading this thread today, and realized a lot of Smiles had been shared with over 19 different people, and I thought that was really Great! Perhaps when someone came in here to look at this thread, they started with a frown, but when they left they took a smile with them.
I was looking at the names too. Sometimes I wonder how people get 'their handles' because some are not as easy to figure out as others. I know citygirl1 lives in the country. If anyone feels like telling how they selected their name, that would be fun.

Hey DadnMom!
Great suggestion about the ID choices.
I chose nanabees, cuz it is the name I sell under at the auctions.
And originally chose to name the business that, after my Mom. My 20yr old "baby" still calls her Nana....and the bees cuz Mom goes by "B". Many call her Aunt B, Nanabee, or Bea.
And now you know.......
the REST of the story!!
Ha Ha.....thought I was Paul Harvey there for a minute!!
Is your daughter graduating High School or College? Sorry you are feeling blue aboutit....Empty Nest Syndrome I guess......It will pass. I have a son, so I was just glad he graduated.
Look at all the free time you will have for you.
I love your sayings...today's was cool!
"I rely on my personality for birth control."
A great saying......Too Cool!

I hope your day is as lovely as mine, although it's a little too warm for me! I got my unique user name "Carole" from my beloved parents who named me that way back in 1941 (after Carole Lombard). Incidentally, I don't really like it, but after all these years I'm used to it.
Regarding your thread on Bidbay and the California bashing, that is the only one that has given me a laugh! I do understand your defense of your state. I feel the same way about New Jersey!

Carole: My father( bless his soul) loved Carole Lombard....he liked her legs I think.
It really is a beautiful name.
Glad you understood..it was just the 2 posts that ticked me off, and I was wrong to bring it here (and won't do that again - I hate having arguments with unarmed persons)
..actually if you have ever read any of my posts, I lived a very long time in Bergen County, NJ, and in the City..........my son still lives in NJ......Actually citygirl1 lives in Jersery too....Cool huh?
Have a grand evening.

Hello!
My daughter is graduating high school. She is a National Merit Finalist and will be going to college on a full ride scholarship - including room and board. Yippee!
My name deichen is my maiden name!
I am going on an all-day field trip today with my 3rd grader's class. I think it is going to rain.
My quote for the day! Allykat, you will like this one!
Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil, and cruel. True, and they have many other fine qualities as well.

deichen: How great that your daughter is getting a full schlorship....YEAH! You must be so proud of her. I love your quote today.........Very Funny! A field trip with 3rd graders.....YIKES 10,873 Smiles and 33 Pounds of Patience to go along with them.
Citygirl1: Oh yes, I so know the weather back there....Winter, 2 days of Spring, Summer - veryhotandmuggy awful, 2 days of Fall, then really cold and colder winter...... Hang In There!
nanabees: So Glad you enjoyed the link .... so I am going to leave two for
today so you can (if you want) visit Shamu at Sea World in California, or go to the San Diego Zoo and watch the Panda's.......you have to refresh every 4 minutes or so, but it will say......I hope th e pandas are out today they are so cool.
Shamu is best seen this time of year because the tourists are starting to ascend upon us, and they have more shows...When the Whales are having a show, you see them more. The Cams are kinda cool.....Enjoy!

Wow! It is nice.....
The Whales are swimming around (must be a show going on right now - they have them every couple hours this time of year)....The Panda's (at least one) is in a tree, and about 100 seals are on the beach....
Have a Nice Time to all that look.

Hello all! Been awhile since I came by here but I love to see all the messages in my email. When things were so bad the last couple weeks those smiles came in handy! Thanks!!!!!
The weather is looking nicer and we are going yard saling shortly! We got a new computer so I don't have to fight to come online and stay there. Listing auctions is fun again.
The prom dress model graduates from high school in three weeks. (Not with honors - congrats to yours Diechen; but the fact that this one is graduating is a miracle and for that we are extremely pleased.) But what a busy time it is. And we will be having lots of out of town company so house cleaning is a must.
And that must be done between soccer, tball and all the other end of school field trips, projects, etc. I think I have gone on more field trips since I became a mom than I ever did when I was in school myself. I know I have sold more candy and other such stuff! And the other day I waitressed at the wrestling meet. That was a first!
dadnmom: would you be so kind as to email me those links to the zoo, whales, etc? I used to live in Sacramento and that is one of the things I miss about California. We don't have a lot of those things here in Montana but we do have other stuff that makes up for it! I just miss the ocean much!

allykat: I remember when my grandma used to have me snap peas with her. It was fun, sitting in the back yard under the orange trees, and snapping peas. Times long forgotten. Those are the memories we take with us in life that are so important, and irreplaceable. My grandma was a cool lady. Not fancy, worked hard in the garden, and at the family business. I don't remember her dressing up very much, but I do remember vaguely going with her to the beauty shop and her getting a perm from an instrument that looked like it might harm a person. She and her friends would take to 'gossipin', trading recipes and having a great time.
Older times, things have so totally changed haven't they?
nanabees: Yes, you are so right. We are all just human beings. Nothing will ever change until every one believe this. \
I fear it is an uphill battle though.
forshoppin: I emailed your links to you, plus a few extra....enjoy! Cool bout your new computer. Enjoy, and have fun 'garage sailing'.....wish I could do that today, but my menu is full of other things. Drat!
........Living in California, you really can't go very many places without seeing the farm workers planting, pulling, and working the crops. They are bent over all day long in the hot sun, and I truly mean bent over. They have great conditions though....they start at around 4:00am to beat the days great heat, then finish around 4:00pm...all for less than min wage. They bring their lunch and eat in the hot sun (no shade in the fields - just the outhouses on wheels))... Yes, these people plant strawberries, avocados, flowers, grapes (for eating and for wine), orange and lemon trees, just to name a small few. I realize how lucky I am to go to the store and grab a bag of oranges or a box of strawberries off the veggie area. I realize too, how hard those people worked to put them there, and I am thankful..............
Today there are 8,637 Laughs and Smiles...Plenty to go around and share.
If you need one or the other please take it with you, if not leave a extra few here.

Hey everyone!
Deichen.....CONGRATS!! I know you are soooo proud! I am soooo happy for you and your daughter!
DadnMom,
I enjoy your posts so very much! I haven't been to California is more than 20years!! So I love to see those cams and read all the neat stuff you post! Especially love the above post about the folks working the fields. You are sooo right...we are very fortunate and surely blessed. Those folks work hard and many times I stop in at the produce dept and pick up grapes, without ever thinking how hard somebody worked to provide them for me...from now on...I think I won't complain about the prices so much!!

BABE! So nice, and I really mean it, to see your handsome face again. You have been missed by me a lot. "No One is as COOL as you". (((((((((((((((((((((((((Double the Warm Hugs Tonight)))))))))))))))))))))))))
I don't know if I got 'coolness' from my Grandma or not, (I don't even think I am cool really), but I sure got her mean streak LOL........ Both my grandparents were very hard workers. The house wasn't always the "white glove cleanest". but the love that was there to go around to so many (Aunts and Uncles, Cousins) was something I will never forget. I learned many life lessons from their very quiet ways, and learned to eat Corn Flakes with a Banana at night with my Grandpa. He always found a special thing to do, to spend time with each grand-child. Mine was night time cereal, and he walked me to Kindergarten each morning (this 6'3 man- full of pride and love), and didn't mind me stopping to pick up ants for my jar.
I don't make this thread good.....All the great people that post here do that.....It's a neutral thread. No fighting, and everyone can be friends without worrying about it here.
I think it is admirable of nanabees to post nice things on the 'BAD Things Thread'. .........A gutsy move.
I have so many different cool and interesting site links to leave as we go.....this one might be interesting. In case you haven't heard, the Sheriff of Phoenix, Arizona has a reputation of being the hardest Sheriff in the U.S..........He does things his was, every day, all the way. He has a link that I found interesting: Want to know what really goes on in jail? Well now you can visit right along with the inmates. This Sheriff has been interviewed on 20/20, Time Magazine, etc. etc.

I'll see you all tomorrow....Have a good evening and good rest.
Allykat: I hope you see the post I left earlier for you today.

Hi DadnMom and all else!
Another beauty of a day! What a joy it is to see nature and all the wonders of spring!
DadnMom,
I'm really not gutsy...just like to let the visitors to the "negative" side know...that there is always positive to be found...even in the midst of a negative situation. LOL
Taking a break from the ratrace of working on the internet...I like to read these threads, for an INSTANT pick-me-up!
Great idea ya had!(starting this thread) Bet you would be really surprised at how many folks have "smiled", that don't post any thing here. I'm sure it would be a large number.
