I wonder if there is a holiday in May where we can all go to California and smoke weed legally? Or is that what Cinco de Mayo is all about?

That was very interesting and a great description of the holiday...and its importance to our citizens of Mexican descent.
While living in Texas, I looked forward to Cinco de Mayo...we had great cookouts and enjoyed watching the kids have a blast...with Pinatas. Many folks in Texas are of Mexican origin...it's great fun to learn of the cultural differences and gain an understanding and new respect for our own citizens who add a richness to our diversified country.
When asked what term we feel is "politically correct" for our heritage(asked during a required class thru my former job)...many folks had preferences. My thought...we as Americans are similar to the "mutt"...we are a mixture of many, many, wonderful lands. I think way too much emphasis is placed on "correctness" to avoid insulting folks. We are all just humans, with no control over where we hail from, who our ancestors are, and what color our skin happens to be.

Spent most of the day with Mom. Worked in the yard together, ate out for lunch, and took a quick "look-see" thru the mall. Here in Greer, SC it was sunny and warm, with a great breeze.
Spring is such a great season! Everywhere ya look, God has dressed nature in the finest of colors most vivid 'n bright and taught new songs of praise to the birds who bellow out with confidence, while teaching their young to soar.

deichen: FYI, I am well aware of Alzheimer`s disease and you should be well aware that the ex presidents diagnosis was made long after his days as President were over. So the way he presented himself at the Iran Contra hearings and in his movies should have not have had anything to do with the Alzheimer`s disease he was diagnosed with later in life. And if your comments are only to be seen by one other person, maybe you should email them to that person. This is a public message board where all your posts will be seen by millions (or is it dozens?)of loyal AW users.

Well, deichen, I can't because you are absolutely correctomondo! Alzheimers can start as early as age 30 and it usually does! Just because it's not diagnosed until later in life doesn't mean it doesn't exist in the brain.
My dad had it and Parkinson's and neither was diagnosed until he was on his deathbed at 83. My 34 year old cousin had it, was diagnosed at age 52 and died shortly after.
Both showed signs very early in life. All signs were dismissed as forgetfulness or just having too much on their minds. Anyone ever tell you that? "I have too much on my mind, so I forgot." Well it could be true, but on the other hand, it could be early stages of Alzheimers, which btw is not senility. They're two different things.
Bartolocolon40, are you a doctor or researcher or do you have the Bartolomew tumor? (Is that the way it's spelled?) - hence your name Bartolocolon?
