Anyhow, yes it is a big void. The categories I'm interested in appear to be large retail outlets selling at higher than retail prices for chipped, damaged, or unmarked merchandise.
AllyKat, send me that link too will ya? I'll look for it.

OK. But don't be surprised if it vanishes! I have taken a couple of months off at Ebay. I just burnt myself out plus was reaching my paypal limit so I decided to stop for awhile, I am just about ready to start again. One of my older sisters is selling all the clothes she cannot wear on ebay and man is she making money!!!! A steady diet of heavy auctioning can really burn one out though, at least it did me.
For me? I would never sell anywhere but Ebay. That is where the traffic is.

mtnmama I sent it and also to your hotmail addy, deichen. I also copied and pasted it and sent it to myself in the event it vanishes.
While we are on the topic of "other online auctions", I have had real good luck with Half.com as a buyer

Hi Mtnmama,
You said that you only had two positive buying experiences and no positive selling experiences right? Well, far be it from me to argue with you, but according to your feedback, you had 118 transactions as both a a buyer and a seller. All with positive feedback. That includes multiple transactions with several different sellers and/or buyers. I believe that the most that I saw was 9 different transactions with one seller/buyer. Perhaps my adding is a bit off...but if you only had 2 good buying experiences, did the seller/buyer I'm referring to screw you on the last 7 ? What about the ones with between 5 and 8 transactions between you and various sellers/buyers? Hmmm...basically what you're saying then is that out of 118 transactions, you were unsatisfied with 116 of them? Now THAT I find just a wee bit hard to swallow. It seems to me that with those kind of averages you would have bailed way before that.

and you aren't navigator either huh? wink wink...........
One can leave positive feedback and yet not be overly thrilled with the transaction, especially when one knows a neg can be removed or retaliation can occur if not. Wow 7 kids and you have time to spend on the computer????? I am impressed!

Geeze...since ya'll insist that I am a Bidbay admin, why not browse back through to my post from May 1st under Talon235. Give it a rest already! Oh, and before I forget to mention it, I have 5 kids of my own, 3 stepchildren, and 2 foster kids. Oops...it must be my adding again....I could swear that comes up to 10.

Well RTalon235, let me tell you something. First of all it's none of your business how I conduct business.
Second, if you will notice those repeat buyers were for stupid little recipes! Not an ideal sales situation if you ask anyone! One of those sellers is a disgusting human being, if you want to even give her the benefit of the doubt, which I don't.
Some were for funny money and I don't call that selling or buying! I call that bartering. Bartering actually does not deserve feedback of any kind.
The few cash sales I did have, one was for a charity (Kids with Cancer), one was for another user's daughter (who we never heard from again - makes you wonder if she really has one)and I didn't profit from either of those auctions. The others were for little cash. Fun for the buyer, hard on the pocketbook for the seller.
Those 118 feedback are just as bogus as the ones with 3,000 feedback and 2,999 repeat buyers. BidBay is a joke. Their feedback system is a bigger joke. If you want to barter for your goods, go to an old fashioned swap meet.
As far as me not bailing sooner, I thought I'd give the site a chance, but your leader changed all that with his narrow mindedness. You also had a hand in it the last time we spoke elsewhere. So don't play Mr. Innocent and Nice with me please.
edited to remove personal remarks, as he is baiting me.

Allykat and mtnmama..
This is the second time that I have had to ask in this thread to address the topic and not individual posters. Remember that you are expected to treat your fellow Community members with respect and consideration. Please do not put your posting privileges in jeopardy.

RTalon235..
Please do not address individual posters and stick to the topic. The basic rules of respect apply to everyone at AW. Please do not put your posting privileges in jeopardy.
With all due respect, he addressed me and my feedback from another site, which I believe is against rules here. He cannot refer to my user name at that other site and my feedback, people can easily find me if they combine it with the feedback.
I don't think I deserve a warning for this as he instigated it and he insists on getting personal with me. I have deleted all remarks that could be construed as personal.
I answered his questions to the best of my ability and was unaware that was not allowed. On other threads, people ask and answer and never get warned or suspended. Take a look at Outlook. People ask questions all the time and they are answered personally! Is this a different case?

Smitty, since there is no moderator corner anymore and emails go unanswered, I'll just not write to "moderator" thank you. That's too broad and one never knows who one is writing to!

I stand corrected Smitty...I will no longer directly address the posters and I will keep to the thread topic as well.
On that note, I think that the "Buy Now" feature is a decent addition to the site. Sure, in some cases you pay a bit more for an item, but at the same time you don't have to worry about getting "sniped" at the last second nor any "last minute bidding wars" that can drive the selling price to extremes.

Yes "buy now" features are nice if folks find something they want to "buy now" .I use it often on ebay. and I like it here also

Hello Everyone,
First I want to make it clear that it is okay for independent contractors to post to the AuctionWatch.com boards. Example: It is neither here nor there if a poster is an independent contractor at BidBay, so long as the posts are not promotional. Promotional posts will be moderated.
Secondly, mtnmama, all of your emails directed to [email protected] have been answered (at least the ones sent within the past 6 weeks) so please do not make that accusation again.
Thirdly, RTalon235, it is great if folks will go along with your thread, but it's really hard to dictate the content of a thread. Unfortunately you will have to take the good with the bad and let the good folks make their own decisions.
If this thread continues in a personal vein, the thread will be locked.
Joice

**Edited to add that email to [email protected] goes to all moderators, the one on duty responds to it unless it is directed to a specific moderator.

Thank you Joice and I would like to say that since they took away our moderators corner (;-(.......emails are answered. Joice answered mine right away as have other mods. It is very difficult to keep anyone on any subject, whether it be in a real conversation or on a chat forum. I vote lock it up now. Thank you and good day

Sorry Joice, it's no accusation - I had three letters go unanswered. All three were to individuals, other than you. You were the only one to give me the courtesy of replies. Please don't think I don't appreciate it. But also please don't accuse me of lying. I will afford you the same courtesy.
As far as getting personal, I have tried very hard not to get personal. However, if someone is using my feedback as a way to identify me on an auction site, I feel I have the right to complain. I don't think it's anyone's business how I conduct my auction business. Talon brought it into the open, thereby opening the thread to an "off topic" subject.
Can that be addressed please?

Allykat,
Could you send Mtnmama my hotmail addy. Mtnmama, would you email me? I do not want to post any addy's here.
A feedback number is not a giveaway to any personal identification and I can't think of any way to find someone at an auction site by searching a feedback number. The comment was moderated by SmittyAW for being personal already.
I will lock this thread because the subject is long lost and if RRTalon235 wants to try again by starting a new thread, it would be okay.
