Rtalon235's thread continued! Do to the fact that the thread was locked and I couldn't post to it, I'm compelled to start this!
My Positives on Bidbay!
2,356 positive transactions on Bidbay and one negative even although the bidder left me a positive comment with negative wording on my feedback profile!
Not bad if I say so myself. Remember lets keep this on topic to prevent it getting locked!

HI, I would just like to say I have bought on Biday and I had no problems with sellers. The people there are really nice and care about their customers.

If a person has only 36 unique users out of 2,357 positives, with a lot of 10 and 15 cent bids, I would not be impressed.

Just imagine the percentage of total transactions those 2,357 transactions would have been. If an auction site was only able to come up with, say, 150 transactions daily, then that would translate to some 16 days.
No wonder there's no bidding on the high priced stuff, you know, maybe a quarter or a buck.

Nice to see you again Vette
I've had 171 positive transactions through Bidbay so far with a few more pending. I've cover everything from little stuff like non-sports cards to toys to collectables. I'm pretty sure I have a fair average between BBB's & cash and the most transactions I've has with one seller/buyer was 18 if I'm not mistaken. Ya gotta love repeat business that goes both ways If my caculations are right, I'm averaging 3.63 transactions per seller/buyer. Not too shabby at all
posted on May 11, 2001 07:09:23 AM new
I forgot, one of those positives was really a negative. Does that change the percentage?
LOL!
**47 unique users out of 171, not 18 out of
171.
I have to say looking at the 171 with 47 unique users, it's a much better ratio than 2,000 plus with only 36 unique users. Plus the bids were much higher. Yes, about 50% were for funny money, but the people that bid real cash were there also. I can't fault a seller like this. At least he/she offers quality merchandise and gets the cash when he/she asks for it.
But honestly, bragging about over 2000 fb with 36 unique users is quite funny!
edited to add stuff.

I made a phone call, asked a few questions;
At one time, anyone, I repeat, anyone on BiBay, could have gotten 2,000 feedbacks, cost 100.00 or less using cash and their Biddybaybucks, (5 cent sports cards), plus a few more bucks shipping, its all about the numbers: shill members, shill numbers, shill contests, shill sellers, shill bidders, shill posters, and this doesn't reflect upon anyone posting here personally. (meaning no one posting here and the real 1200 ? actual members of Biddybay)
Its a good thing the CEO, didn't collect Sports cards, his feedback would be over a million by now, at least; but then again, his feedback, has grow from around 80 under his two known I.D.'s to over 400 feedbacks the last month, and he must now be the top bidder of his own site, sad shame, really.

crychek that did bear repeating!!! I also urge each person to contact the Attorney General in their own state to report the illegal contests.

Ok...stupid question time!
Since when is it illegal or even a bad thing for the CEO of an auction site to sell or purchase merchandise? Seems to me that the PTB of any auction site either do or should participate in the use of it! Gee...the man makes purchases from the site he runs...God forbid!!!! Do any of the other auction site CEOs make cash only purchases from the members of their respective site? How on Earth can anyone knock a CEO that reserves his auction purchases for those that are listed on his own website? Let's get real here!
You know, not pointing any fingers here, but I have seen the word "shill" mentioned numerous times in several different posts. Does anyone have undenable visual PROOF of these accusations? If so, please provide it. Just talking about it without backing it is called hearsay....and did I mention those "slander & libel" words as well ? And yes...until proof is provided...it is hearsay & slander & libel.

Okay, stupid answer time...
Noone said it was illegal for the CEO to bid on auctions, they were just saying he may be the only bidder, bidding on Real Auctions! LOL
Lighten up, it's FRIDAY!

As far as Slander, Libel, Defamation, lets talk about a CEO, of an Online Auction Site, "OFFERING" bounties on members "HEADS" here, not once(1), not twice(2), but 3(3) times, as you were Involved in the third know case, its all archived.
Sorry, I am a Republican, character does matter. And as far as undenable proof, an audit of some books and accounts would shed more light onto a few subjects, then Carter ever had pills.
FCC, FTC, IRS, 50 different States Attorney Generals. And this great sites already had troubles in California and Michigan, wonder why ???
Back on topic, Biddybay is not a real auction site, a game site, a CEO's pet site, a mis-managed site, and even with all this wrong, yes you can still make a successful auction transaction, dispite the PTB "ALMOST DAILY" bad management moves.
Also adding; cheerleaders without listings, nothing new, but does show your support for the site itself, or does it not, not pointing any fingers at anyone ???
As far as this cherade of bad publicity, it worked for years for eBay, its never worked, and never will for BiddyBay.

Might I remind folks to contact their Attorney Generals Office in their state and let them know about all the contests and other illegal things going on there. I am not sure if I posted to this thread or another one.
Funny one on the car deichen!.....and now nice try "you know who". I know exactly who you are, thanks to one of your own members who no longer posts here or there. You really showed your true self.

"its all about the numbers: shill members, shill numbers, shill contests, shill sellers, shill bidders, shill posters, and this doesn't reflect upon anyone posting here personally."
I believe you need to keep this thread on topic, and stop defarmation here. You should be careful of what you post on a public forum... and AW also, of what stays on these boards. Just thought to share.
To keep this thread on topic, I have had over 300 positive transactions and met many wonderful people. What I think is sad is that just like in any business, some will have their negative experiences, and for a site that really doesn't matter, they really don't like, etc, some people sure spend A LOT OF TIME there, and RESEARCHING what supposedly doesn't interest them.
Anyway, on to take a look at a few things... shopping I go.

Moderators, did you read this statement about one of the users of this site????
deichen
"My quote for the day, is my own: The worst car I ever owned was a red CORVETTE (it was a piece of junk). The Best was a white VOLKSWAGON."
Just checking. Thank you.

HIhelper! You said stay on topic? Here is a post by the AW Moderator Joice from yesterday and I quote "Thirdly, RTalon235, it is great if folks will go along with your thread, but it's really hard to dictate thecontent of a thread. Unfortunately you will have to take the good with the bad and let the good folks
make their own decisions."
So there you have it. You moderate the boards at Bidbay and the Moderators at AW can do these just fine.
If I say I hate Chevys, does that mean I am talking about Chevy Chase? NOT!
Good Day now.

Libel? Libel is the written word according to the AP (Associated Press) handbook. You cannot slander someone in writing. You have to libel someone and you know it's very hard to prove that someone is committing libel. You have to prove that the person is malicious with intent to harm another person. All I read are opinions.
Slander? As I said before it's the spoken word. I haven't heard a sound out of my computer for months unless it's music. So far, no one has perfected the type written word to be verbal as far as I know, unless you're using a computer especially made for the blind. Then perhaps you can hear what people are typing. But for the most part, the greater population can't hear a word.
Now if you want to go on about legal terms, I'd be happy to accommodate you. The next time someone accuses anyone of slander on a forum, they'd better know definitions first.
I could have sworn this was posted once before, guess no one here was paying attention.
Deichen's quote is great! My cousin had a red vette that was a piece of trash too. Used to die on him every few weeks. We're a Ford family ourselves. I like my Taurus, much more reliable.

Yes threatening lible and slander is kind of like the pot calling the kettle black!!! After all as someone mentioned earlier, the person who put out the bountys, remember??? ahmmmmm....no names mentioned.

Ally-Kat, please dear, don't worry about what I do and when. Funny you have made statements like that as well as mtnmama about moderating issues here. Anyway,
mtnmama, funny you talk about my spelling, and talk about how funny or bad certain cars were, should I ever see anyone post anything that could be talking about anyone, you are the first to e-mail me whinning.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great day! Had a couple of sales today, and feeling great! BidBay is great, for those that sell and buy, not spend so much time talking about legalities and correcting EVERYONE that does NOT want their input.
I appreciate the offer, but no thanks, if you were on top of all legal stuff you'd be a lawyer, and we both know where you work, thus telling me you are in no place to offer legal advice.

Maybe this informative link will help define what I just did in case no one understands.
I would like, however, to call your attention to the following sentence in the story.
"The defamation—essentially exposure to hatred, contempt, ridicule, or pecuniary
loss—must directly affect the reputation of a living person."
Bidbay is not a living person, it is an auction site. To say people defame BidBay can't be a true statement. Now, if you said someone defamed a person on BidBay, that would be a different story, but there again, it's a burden of proof.
Have fun with this legalese!

The moderators here are very strict about moderation issues and about them being taken to email. We must follow rules here!! very strict.....

You know where I work? Come on, tell everyone here where I work. I'd like to know how you think you know.
How do you know I'm not in the legal field? How do you know my husband's not an attorney? How do you know that I'm not a retired attorney?
whinning? That's something a horse does I think, similar to a cat's pft! pft! LOL!
If you intend to bring BidBay here, which you are doing by that statement alone, I think you'd better leave it right where it is. You are not the moderator here. You are also not supposed to bring BidBay's boards into these discussions.

I am out of here, (because I HAVE A LIFE) this is my second to last post. I want to say, DEAR, because it's a free country and I can use ANY words I want to, unless they are not according to rules here, that I am glad I didn't get kicked out of BidBay so I can enjoy all the wonderful things they have to offer. I have many friendships, on and off the internet, so I am not worried about what grown people, who think they are 12 think of me.
Good night and good bye... (GOOD RIDDENS!)

Oh, Tati,
I really did have a red 1982 piece of crap corvette, got rid of it after 6 months. My favorite car was a 1986 Volkswagon Cabriolet.
