Oh, I thought Sheila was somebody over at BidBay. I was going to ask how to contact her.

I did find some information that may help the plight of all those looking to have their information removed.

I will be sending email to:

[email protected]

I will also be calling NFIC hotline at 1-800-876-7060 to find out my options there. Took that phone number off the www.fraud.org website.

And, lastly, I am filling out a complaint form at www.ftc.gov

If anyone has anything to add to the list, please feel free.

Nah, they think you're Sheila, so it wouldn't pay for you to call her.

I'm also going to file and Coolvette, show us the "law." This I want to definitely see. No one can use your info without your permission and by asking to be removed from the site is negating any permission you had given previously.

Okay, now let me get this straight.

Someone thinks Toollady=Sheila, and, Sheila knows everything.

Then why am I asking how to get information expunged if I am Sheila?

I would know how to get this taken care of then, if I am Sheila, right?

I'm flattered at the thought!

No it's not and it's time for you people to do your homework! I've been there! Permission was given when you registered.

Good luck fighting the government.

BidBay is a government agency? Since when? Oh, maybe since they have their own currency, people think they are! Sheesh!

Get real, they are a silly little dotcom ready to go under. This will just put another nail in the coffin for them.

Coolvette, perhaps you didn't read it right? I said,

No one can use your info without
your permission and by asking
to be removed from the site is negating any permission you had
given previosly.

That means that even though you may have given them permission to put your info on their site when you registered, you no longer give them permission when you deregister. When I deregistered from Golds, all of my info was removed.

And where is that so-called law you keep citing? Can you back up your claims? Instead of doing that, you quoted me! LOL!!!

Toollady=Sheila by several users on Golds/BidBay. They claim they have the "word." I claim they're just speculating because they have nothing else to do with their lives. Very sad indeed.

Just read the entire user agreement and privacy policy and did not see where they said they have a right to keep your personal information in their records. I did not sign anything that said this, unless they changed their user agreement without notifying their members.

There is no such law! They have a standard user agreement that came with the site they bought. Their privacy policy does come with an opt out address, but it says only opt out from receiving newsletters and partner promotionals. To opt out of the site, you are supposed to be able to go in and remove all your info, however, they changed their format so that you can't remove your address and phone number or real name. That's not usual for any auction site. That in itself is theft of your identity!

LOL at you RTT!!!!!!!
Actually it isn't hard to win with him cause some people cut off their nose to spite their face.
If I were EVER to register again at Buddybay, I would NOT give my phone number!!!!! I do NOT trust those people with it. Does ebay even require a phone #? I registered there so long ago, I don't know.

Please refrain from posting about others from different sites here.

Also, quoting the text from an individual's email is against our CG's. Edited to add: therefore your post above is deleted.

ebay requires a valid phone number or you can be suspended from their site.

Why would you want to even register with them again? UGH! Makes my stomach turn.

Oh I wouldn't but maybe I should say if I had it to do over again, I would give a fake number. Why do they need my phone number??? They could easily verify my information with a simple letter to my address like paypal does. For that matter they could go to CC verification process. They said at one time this was too costly. LOL!! Guess all this other stuff isn't.

Oh the heck with secrecy. I received a bullying, threatening letter from from BidBay. To paraphrase what he advised in part of the letter in reference to removing your info from the site:

---------------------------------
You are to write to [email protected] and ask them to remove your personal information, but be prepared to state the facts backed up with your authority on the subject matter.
----------------------------------

What kind of facts are needed and what kind of authority on the subject matter is needed? When someone asks to have their personal info removed permanently, that is fact and that is on your authority. Methinks they better get another lawyer if this is the advice they're handing out!

Oh and threats don't work on me. I'm not afraid of any mortal.

Sara,

I will follow the guidelines you've stated, but with others being named from Bidbay like Yvonne & Cooley, it makes me wonder if different rules apply here. Why is it okay to call Yvonne a so & so CEO and at least 2 others are mentioning this Sheila in their posts repeatedly, yet no warnings whatsoever to them or their post.
So are they exempt? Why am I only not allowed to mention a name.
Also, they quote others correspondences continually, yet I'm told I can't repeat a email to me. Are there two set of rules here?
If your going to reprimand one person, then in all fairness you need to be consistent or else there is an obvious prejudice against one person. If your going to apply a Site Guideline to one, then you have to apply the same guidelines to others.
Just go back where Yvonne (a real person at another site) is mentioned by name and site, then called a mocking title. Please explain to me where my mentioning of a person violates guidelines and that post doesn't.

Still waiting to see that law that vetty told us about. Hmmmmmm, seems to me if you cite a law, you oughta be able to back it up in writing. Try findlaw.com - they have all kinds of info on there - oh, wait, maybe that's where he's been looking for two days.

LOL!

I do? Really? I had no idea I knew this person. Really? Really? Noooooo, you're fibbing to me.

I know he's not a friend

I know he's never been one

I don't know if he's a she

or she's a he ...

But the attack on me is quite the obvious

Has to be someone from Biddybay, wouldn't you

agree?

Hi Sara

When we try to stay on topic, they want us suspended for giving suggestions on how to have info removed.

It's important this thread stay open, but equally important it not be trolled.

Thanks for your consideration.

Whew! What a day. I was in town all day doing my civic duty for the local government.
The court actually asked on the form if I would like to be paid for my time! Uh, let me think for a minute, drive 40 minutes, sit all day waiting to be called, yeah, compensation sounds like a good idea. DUH!

I filled out an online form today at BBBOnline.

I also just finished looking at keyway.net's website to see just what they had to do with BidBay. I didn't see where BidBay was a client, but I did see where a personal site was held by a person with the name Cooley(for those who may not know, is also the last name of a principal of BidBay). The link only went to a parent directory, so I couldn't see the content of the webpage.

But, just for giggles, I'll shoot an email off to [email protected].

Hopefully, if proceedings wrap up early tomorrow, I can make those telephone calls and let you all know what I find out.

Shame on me for not checking the dot.com site. Bravo for you for doing so!

Cooley huh? LOL! He's the one I wrote to in the first place. Those people are something else.

Okay, I checked them out.

They're an ISP in California with no affiliation with BidBay, the tax company they own or their VP or whoever he is these days. In other words the Cooley you saw is probably not their Cooley. If it is, he has his personal page pending there .. well actually he's listed under personal page, but he hasn't done anything.

There is one legal firm but they don't use the email address I was told to use. LOL!

So I guess this is false info as usual. Some kind of scare tactic? Who knows what goes through scotch laden minds? I surely don't.
