I'm sure if those interested just called the very responsive Bidbay Staff, you'd get your answer directly.
One of the only Sites in existance you can actually call & talk to the outstanding Owners & Staff.

Been there, done that.
Left a message, no call back. Guess because I'm not one of the koolaid kids and I actually want to sever ties with the cult, I won't be getting a response.
No response to email says alot too. Even an auto response is better than being ignored.

Yes Cd that is what they say but I think it depends on who is calling. I have seen many complaints on the chat board about trying to reach someone at the office, getting an automated system, leaving numerous messages in voice mails and never getting a call back! This is GREAT customer service.
Hey cdrom I bet you are glad tax season is over, huh?

I'm sure if you tried that Toll Free number again and got one of the very helpful staff on live, you'd get a response. Just make sure you call during business hours.
I mean, at eba*, I can't even call and even thru emails (30+), it's been a year with no response. I've never waited a year at BB and I've never talked to the eBa* owner (like he would), so don't be discouraged.
posted on May 14, 2001 10:29:59 PMAnd where is that so-called law you keep citing? Can you back up your claims?
That law is called the IRS! All legite businesses keep logs of all activity during each calendar year in case of audit!
Not to do so would be idiotic especially of all the $$$ spent upon the Bidbay site to promote it. Bidbay.com could deregister you but you will always remain in the records.
This was my point. I'm really surprised at some people that can't read between the lines! They spend to much time and energy fighting! ~Vette~

Call BidBay for Lip-service, Mis-direction, and Platitudes, seems funny so many do, or have to repeatedly, OVER AND OVER AND OVER, but so many others don't want to or care, because they have already left the little Emperors charade, and the companies so afraid of emails beng used in a court of law against them, they like the phone, *no record*, me thinks you doth protest to much, enjoy your calls, while they last.
As for the law, nice to see the IRS being invoked upon a former IRS employee, ever check out his last public stock offering, offered at 5.00 a share, current value, .25 cents, another mis-direction, show us the law for this, not a wrong answer or mis-directional comment.
Back on topic, the IRS, FTC, FCC, States Attorney Generals, BBB, Your local Congressional Representives, and Chambers of Commerce will all take your complaints.
They have already been investigated part way, in Michigan and California, for funny stock offerings, good luck people.
P.S. as a local area resident, a few towns over, If this (choke)company had spent 3 and 1/2 million dollars building a site, Advertising, I think there buildings, staff, (membership all 1200, maybe active), would be a little more substantually better located, then where there at, or where did all that money go......................not in prizes people..................................

The IRS says you must keep a record of all business ACTIVITY, ie: expenses and income.
We are not talking about accounting records here, we are talking about personally identifiable information.
Since this account was never active (read: NO ACTIVITY), there is no reason why it can not be purged from the database.
The only purpose the information serves for the site is to have legitimate information on file as a registered member which I do not want to be.
I guess we'll just have to wait to see what the various agencies have to say on the matter.

IRS? LOL! For BidBay Buck auctions?
Give us a break will ya. They can keep the records but not on the server. Ever hear of file cabinets?
I do know that ever since I was booted for telling the truth, someone has been calling my house on PDT every day morning and evening, their time. Call and hang up. My phone company is in the process of tracing the calls. They said they know they come from the west coast, but cannot give me any more info just yet. The police are handling it.
Call the staff? That's an even bigger joke. You don't speak to staff, you speak to a robot at the front desk who tells you in broken English, "dey in meeting." "dey doan come in until 8:30." "George? You mean Tannous? He not here."
So you call the "helpful" (not) staff and get a live person (is there such a thing there?) and get real answers (LOL!) They are robots who know very little if anything at all. Talk to a tech? HAR HAR!!! The techs are lucky they know how to tie their shoes.
You people crack me up. The IRS and telephone calls! LOL!
edited to say:
Crychek: Did you know? The front office is still a tax help office? He's not a former IRS person he's still in the business. So, it seems to me he wants our personal records for his own gratification and use. Wonder what's really being done with all our info?

I still find that Staff & Ownership (not using personal names as instructed by AW Staff) very reputable, responsive & helpful to it's members.
I guess some need to vent as they can't even remotely even glance upon P or M at the other place. Just pay eye gouging fees for even a 10 day auction. Funny thing is you can't complain cause No One will hear you there. Ever try to call their owners? ROTFLOL
They send their staff into chat rooms to give canned answers and as watchdogs. But when your on top you can treat members like trash and get away with it without any recourse cause you can't complain. You can become snitches there and get your merits.

Yes mtnmama that is extremely laughable. When pressed, that is the best LAW that could be found. Heee Heeeee.
As for having to call ebay? No need for this customer! I have always received an answer to an email within 24 hrs or LESS and have always had my questions answered or the concern taken care of. Ten day auctions? I don't do ten day auctions, no need. My things sell in less time at ebay. At least I don't have to relist 99 times there.
Tax season..........ahhhhhhhhh.....

Someone needs their Java, read their own board today, even the 600 members left(or less), are confused about who is who, you doth protest to much, and this sure sounds more like BiddyBay staff, whose not on top, not in the middle, and barely up from the recycling bin, yet have time to visit here.

Good Morning crychek. You will think this is funny. When you first came on here, they all thought you were me, but then they think everyone is me, don't they?
I would also like to say that just because some people have good experiences with a company etc, does not mean that everyone does and vice versa. That may be why some drive Chevy's and some drive Fords, etc.
Some are Bidbay people, I tried it, it didn't work for me, so I am an ebay person. Clear and simple.

Yes, I told them another user who was seeking the same remedy was given the email addy to have it taken care of.
I just received a second reply. He said he was uncertain why this would be directed to him since he doesn't have access to the database. He did state he is the attorney for BidBay.
He will be forwarding my message back to bidbay in the hopes it will be taken care of.
I just responded back that I had been trying unsucessfully since February and hoped that it WILL be taken care of as well.
I will update as information becomes available.
If anyone else is looking for the same remedy, perhaps this is the route to take. Maybe he will then direct his client to accomodate those who request removal.

I've not yet received a reply from [email protected], but received a reply from their webmaster telling me someone on the site has that email. DUH!
I wonder if he plans to sue me for wanting my info taken off the site. LOL!
Imagine a company suing a user for wanting their personal info back.
Even patients have rights. They get to see their files and even keep copies.

Sure I've heard of file cabinets. I've also heard of servers and hard drives. The IRS wants to know everything and if you've ever been through a audit you would know this! Duh!
I do know that ever since I was booted for telling the truth, someone has been calling my house on PDT every day morning and evening, their time. Call and hang up. Oh yes we all know how you tell the truth especially your gossip tactics! You remember the ones that was plastered all over the boards. Many lost respect for you. You may not like what I'm saying but what I'm saying is the truth!
Call the staff? That's an even bigger joke. You don't speak to staff, you speak to a robot at the front desk who tells you in broken English, "dey in meeting." "dey doan come in until 8:30." "George? You mean Tannous? He not here."
I've never had any problem calling the staff! GT if in will speak to me directly! The only reason why you posted this crap is because you got kicked off the Bidbay site AGAIN and everybody knows it! You fool no one!
Good day to you and I truly hope hope tommorrow is a better day for you!
I know it's been a while since you've graced us with your presence, so you might like to refresh your memory and re-read the Community Guidelines before posting again. everyone
If I'm not mistaken, the topic of this thread is how to have your personal information removed from Bidbay. It is not (can't emphasize that word enough) for hashing and re-hashing petty feuds and bickerings from their Message Boards. I suggest everyone make a concerted effort to keep the discussion on track or I will have no option but to lock the thread.

The point is, Biddybay will not remove members personal Information, OR TELL ITS MEMBERS HOW, WILL THEY.
Still waiting for the law to be shown here, (you know who), still waiting for some truths to be expoused here, not acttacks on users, pretty low, but standard operatus modi.
As far as calling, I wouldn't waste my time or effort forming opinions about their lack of responses, or continued non-compliance with basic human dignity, or performing like a normal company, they never have been this, and they never will be a true company, they just don't get it.
As several friends said: "Its the worst ran site on the web, liars, cheats, shills, trolls, dishonesty, scam of some kind, doing a complete disservice to the entire Online Auction Community".
Yeap, they said this, makes you wonder why 6-10 year veterans of the Internet and auctions all think the same, but then again maybe not, If your koolaid's laced, maybe it was the brand.

Crychek I agree it is ashame that they feel the need to keep members as active even if they have not listed for almost a year just to pump the numbers, and only the shadow no's what they do with the information. I know my junk mail jumped when I signed up with Bidbay. And when I left and asked my information to be cleared they never replyed. I wish I had never tryed to sell on Bidbay, but I cant look back just put it down as a bad egg. Have a nice buying/selling day.

I throughly respect the AW community but I don't respect trolls that post under multiple ID's upon this site! These folks get suspended from this site and by golly they are here the next day with yet another new ID. It's right under your nose.
I'm fully educated concerning the CG's at AW, I wished others where? Perhaps you may answer this question for me? Seems kind of strange I get a warning? Nothing new here, Bidbay members are used to getting suspended on this site! Over 940 posts on this site covering over a year, will I be next?

Do any of you folks wanting your personal info removed from the site ever have a money exchange with Bidbay??
If you ever had any sort of money exchange between you and the company then they can keep your info through that fiscal year.
If you paid any fees to them or recieved a check for bidbaybilly stuff or recieved their cameras or any other prize that has an actual cash value (cameras etc etc)
I never bid or sold anything on bidbay I can essentially excersize my right to have all mypersonal info removed.
BUT I just happened to visit the site boards to read some hot discussion topic having to do with listing numbers vs items numbers.
I cruized the auctions just to see for myself and hit on the bidbaybilly and won $5
woopdy-do $5
Anyways I did recieve that check and did cash it.
That gave bidbay the right to retain my personal info until the end of the fiscal year for tax and auditing purposes since bibbay the company and myself had a money exchanging event.
If you have not had any of these examples then keep up the fight to have your information removed and exercise your right to privacy.

Troll? I think not. Look them all up. None are suspended ID's. I was not suspended from BIDDYBAY, I VOLUNTARILY deactivated my account. I was suspended from the phoney back biting chat boards for linking to an article about BidBay. The rest of the accounts are alive and well.
Oh and I've never been through an audit because I file my taxes on time and even pay them for the privilege of working. Paper seems to work well for them I hear. I've not heard of one person bringing their computer server to an IRS audit. Har de har har
BTW, if you can't say anything productive, why attack a another person and then plead inncoent?

Good point about that lovepotions. I personally know they've just been through an audit on or about March 21 of this year, because one of the VP's told me. So anything prior to the end of that audit would be over and done with. They can remove that info from their servers.

Trolls live under bridges, I live in a house.
I sent an email to the attorney and asked that my personal information be removed. This is the same attorney that mtnmama was told to contact and when she and others contacted him via email his question was "who gave you my name and why"? He did say he would refer it back to Bidbay so we shall see what happens. Thank you toollady for this very enlightening thread. Lets all try and keep it clean, on topic and open, so we can stay updated.
I've never received an answer from the lawyer at that e-mail address. If you do, please let me know. Perhaps the fact that I cc'd the "leader" of the pack had something to do with it.
