71,000 cows have been released from captivity by animal rights activists.

I mean they were taken in the middle of the night, mostly from dairy farms, and they are proud of this?
Well, theres less milk and cheese for the kids.
So far, as your link provided, quite a few have been killed by cars, electrecuted, or
fallen off bridges, and drowned ?
A great accomplishment for ALF and PETA...NOT.

You know cows are probably pretty much like squirrels but a lot bigger.
When I go to the park I feed the squirrels and it amazes me that they can survive in the wild.
I can throw a peanut and hit the squirrel right on top of the head and it falls in front of it and it still can't find it.
It turns around in a circle and may actually walk away fron it. They must be terribly near sighted to not see it 6 inches away.
The difference of course is if a stupid nearsighted squirrel runs out in front of your car it is squished but of a thousand pound cow waltzes out in front of you it is like hitting a brick wall.

Well all cows are aliens. That is, they are not indigenous to this continent. Columbus brought some with him on his second voyage. After that it became a law that each ship had to have one cow for every five people.

nearthesea- they may have done the kids a favor. Milk and cheese(dairy) consumption is a major contributing factor to chronic ear infections in children.

i wonder how they would feel if a cow causes a car accident and subsequent injuries or fatalities? BTW- they must be some rather tall cows if they are chewing on power lines!!!

Low power lines, Stusi, are not uncommon away from cities. Also, many areas have them only slightly underground.
I think that it's completely irresponsible to release those cows without first teaching them the rudiments of life in traffic lanes. That so many were killed by cars or fell off of bridges can only mean that that cattle couldn't drive.
