Just read a report - it appears Police have found the gun that killed Mr. Blakes wife. Found in a dumpster about a block and a half from the car where she was killed. It had two bullets fired from the gun and a third was still in the chamber. It also said the gun uses the same kind of bullets found at Mr. Blakes home. (Police found a box of ammunition in which 3 bullets were missing.)
The gun found was a 'German made gun popular with officers during World War II'.

My thoughts on this issue have gone 'Un-Surveyed' and may not be of importance to the P.T.B.

Gee noteye.....this doesn't sound good. It sure makes me wonder how his lawyer is going to handle this tid-bit?

Thanks for the update!

Here's the story ABC did on this found gun:

http://abcnews.go.com/sections/us/DailyNews/blake_010514.html

Check out this quote from the story: "Blake's account that he went back to the restaurant to retrieve his pistol was contradicted by a busboy, who told police he cleared the table where the couple ate before the actor returned, and found no gun there, Wright reported." Hmmm...we were just talking about that the other day, weren't we?

Then, in this one from AP (from the Las Vegas Sun), the police won't confirm any gun was found. By the same token, they don't deny it. http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/nat-gen/2001/may/14/051403673.html

Curiouser and curiouser....

I have been keeping updated on this a reading all the links that have been put in here. I have never heard of something so bizarre in my life. Compared to the OJ case this one takes the cake.

Ok question. Is Christian Brando out of jail? I remember he was convicted of murder.

On the tapes Bonnie's talking about her reluctance on falling for Blake because of his looks. What about Jerry Lee Lewis?
Her taste in men is not the greatest...

Jerry Lee Lewis who is nicknamed "the killer"

Christian Brando who is a convicted Killer

Robert Blake...hmmm, well you decide.

I'm pretty sure he's out of jail, cyanide. They got him on manslaughter instead of murder, which means less jail time. I'll see what I can find.

Hi sideslam & cyanide! This just keeps getting stranger every day. I can't figure out whether he did it himself, or if he had someone else do it.

His gun powder residue test came back inconclusive. Gravid mentioned that if he had surgical gloves on, residue wouldn't show up, so I'm really starting to wonder if he did it himself, using gloves of some sort. I'm just not sure of how long it was in between the time they both left together and when he returned.

Some reports say he returned once, some say twice. Some say he said he returned twice.....some say he said he only returned once.

Thanks too Maddie!! Your links have been a big help. (Hope your wrist is starting to feel better )

Do you think he did it himself??

Hiya, kraftdinner! Hand is indeed getting better every day. And I think by now you can just call me Kris - everybody else does!

The tabloids are having a field day with this one, just like I figured. Went to the grocery store and it's all over. I admit to buying People, but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Doubt there's anything new in there anyway.

Interesting thing on Good Morning America this morning...this reporter was saying how the LAPD had a press "statement" yesterday afternoon, berating the media for their relentlessness (is that a word?) and adding a reminder that Bonnie Lee Bakely is the victim in this case, and her own life should not be the subject.

Heh. Speaks volumes, I think.

Thanks Kris! You can call me Terry (or blockhead).....whichever is more appropriate!

I don't see the media being creeps or anything, do you? Seems like they're just reporting on the crap Blake's lawyer has dug up on her. So what if she had a shady life? When was the last time you heard of someone killing someone else for lying in "personal-type" ads, or taking advantage of someone??

Blake's lawyer sunk his ship the minute he opened his mouth. Blake must be pretty dense if he hasn't noticed how Braun has not helped him in ANY way, making this all the more stranger!?!?!

Hi Terry.

No, I don't think the media has been too bad...I mean they are always a bit rabid when something like this happens and involves a celebrity, but I think the lawyer and his constant comments are more at fault than the media. He's seeking out the media!

What made me smile was that last part, where the cops reminded the media that Bonnie was the victim and wasn't on trial here.

People had a whole lotta nuthin in it. Same stuff we've already seen. Haven't checked today's links, but I doubt we'll be hearing much new for a few more days. When it breaks, it's gonna break big!

"Pretty big guns for a guy who didn't do it. "

That is an interesting view. When we lived in Ohio a few years back there was a Philipino lady accused of something - it has been so long I forget exactly what. But it turns out the attitude that is common in the Philipines is that if you retain council at all it is an admission you are guilty, and need a lawyer to just cut the best deal you can under law. In fact this lady when advised that she should get a good attorney by friends and coworkers here in the States would be offended and refuse to associate with them anymore because she felt they were saying she was guilty. That makes an effective defense rather difficult and she was convicted. She went before the court and plead innocence and depended on the court to protect her.
Frankly the court is more likely in this country to assume whatever the police and the prosecutor say is correct. They are all of the same system politically, financially and socially.
Innocent until proven guilty is a nice theory until you consider what the mental state of a juror is who has only heard assertions you are guilty. In theory even if you have an alibi you should not have to say anything if their case is weak. In reality you better trot anything you have out.
