I did read about your Mom's truck being slammed. Thank goodness she wasn't in it. Does the other driver have insurance? What is the next step, is the truck repairable or will it have to be replaced?
I certainly hope the good luck fairy stops by your house soon. {{{hugs}}}
You are going back to work on June 4th? How are you feeling physically?
You and your family have been through so much, does your dad know about the truck? How is he doing?

I am almost off to bed but thought that I would poke my head in the door and have a look who is here. It is amost midnight and I have done enough work for one night.
I am glad to see that our boy Bob came home for a while. LOL
Hello Mouse and Zilvy.
Zilvy I am glad you have enjoyed your parcel. I have not forgotten the other book I said I was going to get for you, I just have not had time to go and look for it yet.
We have been fairly busy work wise, and I am just tired out lately, so I have not been going to far at all, but when I get the chance I will have a good look for the book. I am very glad that you are enjoying the Tim Tams and cherry ripes ect. All very yummy but oh so fattening. LOL
We still have no word from the police about the splitter, but you never know it might turn up in a few years or so. Apparently that has happened to other people, one splitter that was stolen 2 years ago, was returned to it's owner about 3 weeks ago, so there is hope for us after all. Zilvy I fellow you remember me talking about, one of our competitors. Yes he is a very strange man, but unfortunately for us he is not the one who stole the splitter, we are fairly certain that we know who did it, but proving it is another thing. The Police do not seem to be very interested in helping us.
But on the plus side, we got the money through today to purchase the new one, so at least when it is delivered in 2 weeks time, we will have the money to pay for it. LOL
I can't wait for your parcel to arrive Zilvy, I told my 16year old son and he thinks I am going to share with him, not if I get my hands on it first. hahaha I just might give him one thing if he is a good boy and very lucky.

So many questions, so foggy a brain! Ok, where do I begin, with the first question of course! LOL Yes, the other driver had insurance, we think. That car wasn't on the card. But it could be they didn't have an updated card yet, they just got the car. Mom has already called the insurance company and we're waiting for the adjuster to call. I'm pretty sure they're going to total it. It's an '82 and not worth a whole lot, so they'll probably total it as it's not worth it to fix it.
The 4th is dependent upon whether they get into gear and get it approved. I was supposed to go back May 1st, but someone dropped the ball. That's why I faxed it myself this time! I'm felling better than I did back in February, but have kinda backslid the past few weeks for some rewason. I made an appointment with the pain specialist even. But he was booked until June 6th. I'm tired of taking heavy duty pain pills and they don't work so well any more anyway.
Dad does know about the truck. Mom kinda hesitated in telling him, I'm sure you can guess why. He's doing better, much perkier. His knee brace should come off in the next couple of weeks. He has a sleep study tonight and hopefully that will help with the bi-pap problems he's been having. Once the knee is declared healed, they can get going on his physical therapy and he'll get much better. They're pretty limited in what they can do until then.
So, how's the weather where you are? I can say it's hotter than heck here and due to get even worse.

Hi Mouse and Netta it has finally cooled down here. Last night I actually had to put a blanket on the bed...I had only been sleeping with the sheet. Terribly hot for this time of year an almost full week of 95 and 98 degree weather. It is normally in the 65 to 70 degree range in May. You can imagine with no rain until Saturday in over 22 days how terribly dry it has been. The fire index was very high, this was the first time in over 20 years that I have really been worried about fire. We are surrounded by forest and it was tinder dry. Today is overcast and cool and we may get more rain.
Brimfield the mega flea market was not very good for us. Terribly hot and super dusty, I will be cleaning up table covers, and collectibles and antiques for weeks. We decided we will not do it again this year and we usually do it in July and Sept. Oh well, have to hope that ebay will help. As soon as I get my pictures back up. I had taken a whole bunch and fine tuned them but hadn't done the FTP, AOL crashed on me yesterday so I have to redo all of them. Just what I need...more busy work.
Going to sign off for now..all kinds of errands to do and of course loads of cleaning and my day is slipping by. Hugs to you all.

I am sorry that you did not have a good time at Brimfield Zilvy, it is not nice that you put the time and effort in and do not reap the rewards. Maybe next time or as you said maybe Ebay will be good to you. I hope it is good for you as well.
I just looked at my last post and saw all my spelling mistakes, but I am too tired to be bothered correcting it right now, so it can stay that way, and I know my friends will not be worried over my spelling mistakes. Thank the lord the spelling police do not visit us in this thread. LOL
I feel dead on my feet, so I am off to bed. I am glad I saw you here Zilvy I will talk to you both later. Mouse I am glad your dad seems to be a bit better.

Nighters Netta!
Zilvy, you talking about the blanket reminded me of how I slept yesterday: tank top & shorts (I never wear a tank top to bed, my shoulders get cold), flat on my back with no covers (I usually sleep on my side and always have at least a sheet over me). Boy I hope they come early today! I haven't even bothered with a shower, I'd never dry off!

Hi Everyone, sorry I missed most of you last night. I will not be in later tonight either, too much to do in RL .
Anyway I am only in now because I just snipped(sp??) an auction and won. Whoo Hooooo makes me smile, I actually got all three things that I wanted and I feel pretty damn good about it too. LOL
I will try and get back in tomorrow night for a while, but don't stress if I don't make it until the next night sometimes it gets hectic and I run out of steam.

No problem Netta, I was a little distracted with the heat anyway. But the good news is it got fixed today! Tonight I'll be working on auctions, so I'll be in and out. And congrats on winning! Isn't sniping great?
posted on May 17, 2001 09:57:16 PM new{{{{{{{Zilvy}}}}}}}, thank you so much, I am just thrilled with my parcel. I have already eaten one of the hershey's SKOR bars and it was delish!!!!! I did not tell you that peanut brittle and toffee was one of my favourite things, you could not have choosen better. LOL
The parcel was opened by Quarantine and some of the items were also opened for inspection but they sealed them up with those lovely little quarantine stickers. Hmmm very pretty indeed they are. LOL
I let hubby and oldest son try the orange sticks, but the rest are in the fridge. I am going to ration everything out to make it last. I am allowed to have something sweet everyday on my Weight Watchers diet, but I have to be carefull not to go overboard with it, and I have to cut something normal out for the day. Well let me tell you that is going to be no hardship, I will gladly cut out normal stuff for chocolate or sweets of any kind. haha I know that when the other son comes home and also when my daughter gets home, they will want to poke through my parcel, but they can look but not touch untill I have tried everything myself. Greedy little piglet aren't I !!
Thank you once again for this wonderful treat, even if I did not eat the stuff, it is just wonderful to recieve such a gift. Oh yes I nearly forgot I just love the little night crawler. He is tooooooo cute, and who knew that Mary really existed from Mary had a little lamb. LOL haha Thank you, I have had a history lesson and I am enjoying the learning experience.
posted on May 17, 2001 10:09:35 PM newNetta You are such a cutie pie...can you imagine getting a parcel with all that candy and being on a diet...what kind of friend am I??? At least I included a few savory items...I was afraid customs might try to roll and smoke some of the green herb things...Do you recall what they opened? Anyway I'll bet you got a laugh out of the bag of Cheeto's our version of the Cheese twists...Your version was very tasty I hope you will like the American version...as I said in my note they are my absolute fav snack..no social redeeming qualities and of course my orange fingers give me away.
I have put all my goodies in the fridge, thankfully hubby isn't big on sweet snacks..but I have shared tim tams with him and he thinks they are delicious. He never got a try at the wagonwheels...Alllll gone!!
What a fun idea this was...oooh I was going to try the Vegemite today, I opened the little pack and sniffed...I don't think I should have done that. I hadn't had my coffee and this was breakfast time..the little pack is in the fridge waiting for tomorrow.
MOUSE Have you tried yours yet?

The Customs opened the Orange sticks, and the Boursin Cheese spread. But I don't think they actually took anything out, they were just checking it I assume. Oh and don't worry about me being on a diet, I can always put it off for a better time, I assure you I really would not mind. ROTF
I think your chocolate is a bit heavier than ours, it has a taste that I can not pin point, but it reminds me of something we have here, and all this time I thought that chocolate was chocolate. Well everyone let me tell you there is a difference. LOL Zilvy I promise you that the vegemite will not harm you, it is an acquired taste but it can not harm you in any way. LOL We feed it to our babies, our children grow up eating it, so take the plunge and aveago. Have you all been taking your Aussie speak lessons. That just translated to Have a go. LOL Sorry I could not help myself for a minute there.

That little night crawler light reminded me of the thread with krs and his glow in the dark wonger!! I am going to try the vegemite I just know it has to be good if all you wonderful Aussies eat it. I just have never spread anything BLACK on my toast before. I have a friend whose children don't do "orange vegetables" you know carrots and squash...I thought that was so funny as we passed veggies around and he piped up and said that.
Has the weather taken a turn to really cold or will that happen in June? I have to remember we are all turned around season wise. Actually how cold does it get in your part of the country?
posted on May 17, 2001 10:41:25 PM new
We live in a fairly tropical climate in my part of Austalia, and we usually have lovely days, but the nights can get cold. Well cold for us anyway.. We do not get snow up here but if you travel a couple of hours inland and up the range to Stanthorpe or Gatton and Warwick areas (they are country inland)it snow in these places. Down where Bob lives in Victoria, it is a hell hole for the cold. They have biting blizzard type winds and rain, and it has been known to snow very close to Melboune, as a matter of fact I think it snowed in Melboune last year, or at least just on the outskirts. I remember that because my niece wanted my sister to take her to see the snow and Robyn did not like the idea one little bit. LOL Too cold she said.
I have been lighting the fires at night, but we do not need it through the day yet, our really cold period comes in June and July most years. In Queensland we only have a really cold period for about 3 -4 months, but in Bob's part of the world they get cold weather for sometimes up to 9 and 10 months of the year. If they are lucky it might only last for 5 months.

Talking about the kids not eating orange vegetables amused me. We had a family from France once and had a cook out with nice steaks and chicken. However we had peaches and cream sweet corn with the two colors of kernals yellow and white both on one ear and they would not touch it. They said corn is for pigs. They were told it was different than dent corn you use for animal feed. It is as sweet as candy and we butter it and salt and pepper it for a real treat but they would have no part of it. The parents were rather embarrassed but you know kids - they say what they please. They can go home and eat all the garlic snails they please.

Calling Eskimo Nettak,ROTFLMAO!!!!!
It's not quite as cold as that, nor for so long!
I distinctly remember that summer fell on a Tuesday last year.
Won't be around much again this weekend as the work is coming in thick and fast, plus there's another golf tournament to play in this weekend.
I've just started to clear the retired antique dealers place and we are unearthing all sorts of goodies. A lot of the big stuff is being sold straight to the trade or into auction rooms, but a lot of the good smalls will be listed on eBay over the coming weeks.
Lets just hope the buyers will be around!

Hi nettak, This is just a very quick visit. Ours is a sad sort of house tonight. My eldest boy's gilfriend, who is only 21, died from cancer on Wednesday evening.
Katy had been ill for a long time, some days better than others. It looks like everything finally shut down very quickly.
My boy is handling it fairly well at the moment, but I know that he's hurting like hell inside.
If I'm not in much you'll know why.
Bob, Downunder but never down.

Oh Bob I am so sorry, give your son a big Hug. That is just so sad, I can only imagine what her parents must be going through and what your family is suffering as well.
It sometimes makes you wonder what the meaning of life really is, and why someone so young has to be taken from you.
We will all be thinking of you and your family and you know we are here if you want to talk or you can email me if you want to let off steam at any time.
When my daughter was younger and very ill, we did not know if she was going to make it and we saw a lot of little ones who did not make it. I was always greatful that my child was spared but I still went through a lot of grief and sometimes you just want to scream at someone, anyone will do. You just have to let off steam. So if you feel like that just let go and scream at us, we will understand.

Hi you two!
Bob, that is very sad news. Please give your son and her family a hug for all of us.
Speaking of cancer, I just found out tonight that my best friend is having surgery for thyroid nodules (I think that's what she called them), and it's possible they are cancerous. I'm so mad at her, she found them last October and didn't tell me until today! She said she didn't want me to have another thing to worry about, that I had enough going on with me. (Around the time she was diagnosed is when they found the benign tumor in my thigh.) I told her I didn't care, she should have told me anyway!

Hi everyone, I am just running in tonight. I hurt my back today and am thinking a nice hot shower may help. I did think of asking my darling husband to massage it for me, but I don't like pain so I think I will opt for the hot shower and pray it helps.
Bob how is your family, especially you son doing today? I am sending many special wishes and some extra big {{{HUGS}}} down to you.
Mouse I will answer your email very soon. I agree with what you said as well.
Zilvy I have been very good and am only having small amounts of each thing. LOL My youngest and two of his mates ate some of the chocolate last night, and my oldest son and one of his mates had some of the peanut butter M&Ms' last night, and my daughter went to a work meeting and here was I feeling sorry for her and telling the boys' not to pig out and to leave some things for her, and guess what she was doing!! The work meeting was really an undercover wear undies party at work and they had a STRIPPER!! Apparently he got very up close and personal with my daughter and she was a very embarrased young lady. I said to her she should have called me. I wanted to see the stripper. Anyway back to my parcel, everyone is loving it, I even got a request from my brother in law for some peanut butter M&Ms', I had better share with him or he might not let me see the baby anymore. LOL We are still exploring the contents and I will let you know when I make the cream cheese spread and I am going to use some to the herbs tomorrow. I might even try the peach tea as well.

Hey Mouse, I am here but I am not sure for how long. I am tired and my back is still hurting a bit so I will have to see how I go.
It is wet and miserable here today and I have both fires going. That warms it up a bit, but when you walk through the formal lounge to get to the office, it is OMG cold in the entry way. I think I need to put a rug back in the foyer to stop the chill coming in off the ceremic tiles in there. Anyway I will see how long I last sitting in here, my back is already starting to hurt, and I am feeling tired already, so don't be surprised if I don't stay too long.

Hi Netta! I hope your back gets to feeling better soon. I'm not going to be here much longer myself. I stayed up very late today and didn't get much sleep...
