Hello to all of you. Please excuse me while I pop in to send my Happy Anniversary greetings to nettak.

Nettak - Here's something I received, and it made me think of you and your love of chocolates. Hopefully you've not seen it before. It's my anniversary 'gift' to you.

Rules Of Chocolate:

Chocolate is a vegetable. How, you ask? Chocolate is derived from cacao beans. Bean = vegetable. Sugar is derived from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS. Both are plants, which places them in the vegetable category. Thus, chocolate is a vegetable.

To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk, which is dairy. So candy bars are a health food.

Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.

The problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car. The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.

Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite, and you'll eat less.

If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.

If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they actually counteract each other?
Money talks. Chocolate sings. Beautifully.

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger. Therefore, you need to eat more chocolate.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.

A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Now, isn't that handy?

If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer.   But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you?

If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose. An entire garment industry would be devastated. You can't let that happen, can you?

Enjoy, enjoy!!!

Hi Spaz! Good question I know I haven't heard from her and I was just thinking yesterday that I needed to ask Netta if she's heard from her. Maybe I'll drop her an email a little later. I think the show has begun and that's probably why she's not here, very busy our Jannie Boy!

Hi Spaz, the last I heard from Jan was a couple of weeks ago, and they are still doing shows and are very busy doing rehersals. Our friend was more than slightly annoyed by some of the not so nice remarks by some posters. I will tell her you were asking after her, but you can also email Jan at [email protected] I know for a fact that Jan would love to hear from you.

Linda K thank you for the lovely gift. It is one I will treasure forever. LOL

Mouse, Bob & Pharlap, I will try and get in later if I am not too tired. Bob good luck with your golf game today. I am cheering for you. (silently of course)

I need help from one of my Aussie pals! Do you need to refrigerate Vegemite after it's been opened??

Hi Mouse, you can leave it in the cupboard, but since you are having really hot heat wave conditions I would put it in the fridge. Vegemite will stay good for many months, just make sure that you put the lid on it properly so that it does not dry out.

So have you tried it yet????????

I know she was pissed, but the thing about this forum is, you can't let it get to you. If you leave, they win. If you stay, if you keep yourself from getting suspended, you get to use the forum to spread information that might not otherwise reach people -- maybe people who really need it. In the end, which is better? Storming off and remaining silent, or depriving your opponents of having power over you while getting your message out? It takes some personal control, but nothing drives the opposition crazier than when you're persistent, and when they're unable to goad you. It's the best revenge.

I checked out her website. Impressive resume she has. She must be pretty talented.

I agree with what you are saying and I believe that Jan has more knowledge on some subjects than just about anyone else I have ever seen posting here.

I think that if she had not been so busy with preparing for her shows she would have been posting. But when she is doing her music I think that is the beginning and the end for Rocker. She loves what she does and yes I do believe that she is a very talented person.

Rocker is not a shy person, so she will be back, and she will also spread her message to those that want to hear it. I have learnt a hell of a lot from Jan, she has explained things to me that I did not understand. She stands up for what she believes in and is not ashamed to say what she thinks, but sometimes she gets just a little bit too emotional and sometimes it is hard to put what you really want to say into words on the board. One thing I do know about her is that she can laugh at herself, and she can take advice, but she does not like people who think they know it all to try and educate her.

I think she was taking this time away, so that she can do her shows and also to tread softly for a while. But she will be back.

Hi Netta, LOL I knew whoever answered frist would ask...Yes I have tried it! I said I would eventually.

My report on Vegemite for other 'Mericans:
Be sure you spread it thinly. At first it kind of tastes like beef boullion paste. Or at least that was the closest thing I could think of. Then it leaves a taste that is unique to Vegemite. I have no idea how to decribe it, I'll let someone else try. But I can say, it won't kill you! LOL

But I can say, it won't kill you! Of course it won't kill you, now would we nice Aussies do any harm to our American friends. LOL

Well Mouse I am glad that you finally got up the courage to try our vegemite. As a matter of fact when I saw your post, I went out into the kitchen and made myself a vegemite sandwich. But I like to spread it on not too thin , not too thick. It takes practice to get it just right. LOL Happy Eating.

Hi Netta! How was your anniversary? Good I hope!

I meant to come back earlier and say I agreed with you about Jan. And that I too am sure she'll be back when she's not so immersed in her music.

Linda - great post! Applies to me as well... as Mouse can tell you I'm an incurable sweettooth!

Nettak - speaking of chocolate, I hope that hubby bought you a huge box for putting up with him for 22 years!

Yes Mouse, Jan will be back sometime when she is not so busy. When I last talked to her a couple of weeks back, she was interviewing for a new roomy. I hope this one is a cutie for Rocker. LOL

Hi Pharlap, I got gold!! I love anniversary time, gold is always nice, and this man knows what keeps me happy. LOL

Gosh I really should learn how to spell.

Oh I had plenty of treats, so don't worry on that score. LOL Gold glitters rather nicely on me, even if I do say so myself. haha

Last year I told him, that I wanted gold for my present, and he grumbled. So I told him, he had a choice, gold, rubies or diamonds. I ended up with all three. So I really don't think I can complain too much. This year the question was not even asked, He knows and I got what I wanted without a word. LOL I think after being together for so long, you get to know what the other is thinking. Ask Bob, I bet he knows what his wifes favourite things are as well.

Ok - now I'm pizzed off!

Trying to contact a seller to see if he'll make an exception and ship internationally for a certain item. Went through the 'ask seller a question' link and it says that it can't send it due to a problem with the seller's server... um ok.

So I did a test and tried sending the question again with a bcc to myself and get this - "Unfortunately, we were unable to send your question(s) to the eBay user via email nor were we able to forward a copy to you. You may both be experiencing problems receiving email at this time."

Not a thing wrong at my end so unlikely any problems with the sellers e-mail either. Very frustrating! Lucky the auction isn't ending tonight!

I tell you what really bugs the crap out of me, and that is when a seller will not even reply to your email question. They obviously do not want my bid very much, becauce I will not bid if the don't bother to answer my question. Sometimes it is something that I am prepared to go fairly high in price as well and if they are too stupid to reply, that is there downfall.

Okay so what has everyone been doing today?

Our new splitter is supposed to arrive tomorrow, Greg will have to phone the carrier and see what time it is due to arrive. Pharlap a new cold front is on it's way, and supposed to be here tomorrow, so rug up big.

I see that I am! Well, I did get a long nap in, so I'm not quite so bleary eyed. Other than that, nothing exciting here. Oh, and my feet finally have returned to almost normal size. (I was beginning to freak out though, Mom had congestive heart failure last fall and she swelled up like a baloon. )

Are you back on day shift Pharlap??

Last week I bid on a beautiful tea set, I wanted it for my mother to replace one that I had won a couple of weeks before, that one arrived with 2 cups broken. I am not having a lot of luck with this present for my mother. Anyway as I said I bid and won the auction, but the seller decided that he wanted more (a lot More) than the winning bid amount. I emailed him and told him that I feel he should send me the item, but he refused and made all kinds of excuses why he could not sell it to me for the amount I bid.

He said it was a mistake on the part of Ebay, and then he said it was an AW mistake and then it was a mistake from both parties. WOW and I thought I was having some bad luck. Even Safeharbor agreed that he should honour the bid, but to no avail. I have not negged him yet, I am thinking of just the right thing to say, but believe me when I say he deserves this neg.

Mouse I remember what you said about him probably negging me back, and I guess if he does it can only sound retalitory and irrational and I will just have to wear it if he does neg me in return.

Yep - back on day shift.

Don't be afraid to neg him! Will make him think twice before pulling that stunt again. He should have set a reserve if he wanted a certain amount.

Did you bid with your seller's ID?

Edited due to not thinking straight!

Oh I am not afraid to neg him, he is a total jerk. To tell the truth I would have gladly paid a lot more than the winning amount, but I will not be dictated to about it. As you said he should have had a reserve price on it, as a matter of fact the first time he had it listed he had a reserve on it and no one bid, so the second time he listed it, he had a "buy it now" price of $75.00 with a starting bid of $20.00, someone else bid on it and broke the "buy it now" so it went on to be an ordinary auction, I got it for $25.00US, now I know that is a low amount, but that is the way it goes sometimes. We have all had auctions that ended for less than we anticipated and sometimes we have had others that went much higher than we thought they would. So it kind of evens itself out in the end.
