Got it Mouse, keep your chin up.
I am going to make a hot drink and put some Vicks on, because I just know I am going to have a rough night with this cold. It has come on really fast, and now I am hoping that it will go just as fast. I got a huge big bag of lemons from the fruit shop today, so I will have to pump lemon juice into myself to get rid of this thing. It is the only thing that works for me, and it tastes disgusting.

I promise not to breath on you, as a matter of fact I turn away from the monitor everytime I cough. At least that way I can not spread my germs.
Pharlap must have gone to her auction tonight, I hope she got some good stuff. Lord my typing is bad tonight and very slow, so I am thinking this illness has spread to my hands as well. I am going to go and lie in front of the fire for a while and try and warm myself up a bit.

Sorry you are so miserable nattek. Maybe a wee dram od spirits to help ease the pain?
It would be nice to hear some stories from Rocker if she has the time again.
We had the most violent thunder storm here last night. You would see 4 or 5 lifgtening strikes out the window at the same time and they were the most vived violet color for some reason. It is nice to read a thread here that is not all the vitriol of politics.
Hey I just came back from the fruit market and they have Vegamite! $6 for a jar and I read the label. It is mostly a yeast product and heavy on the B vitamins. Next time there I will get some. I did not take enough money today.

For Pete's sake, I keep forgetting my update on Vegemite (thanks for the reminder Gravid!) Mom loves it! She said it reminds her of some beef thing she used to get in a toothpaste type tube. Of course she ate it properly, on buttered toast with cheese on top. So now you know, if you send me more it won't go to waste! LOL

Thanks for the good wishes Gravid, I am still with cold, but am hoping that it will disappear very soon. Yes you should try the vegemite, but boy oh boy is that expensive. How big a bottle is it for $6 ??
Mouse I am glad that your mother liked the vegemite, but what about you, did you like it or not? I personally do not eat it with cheese but you can actually buy it in little individual tube, ready for lunch boxes that is a mix of vegemite and cheese. chuck chunder if you ask me, but then again I do not eat very much cheese at the best of times. LOL
Question for Pharlap, were you by any chance at the childrens hospital fund raiser last night when the Male Olympic swimmers did the Full Monty for charity. If so where are the photos', come on girl give, you know you have to share.
Oh yes and the other thing, have any of you sent an email to RichieRich's girls' to get there address to send them a postcard. I know Gravid has sent his. These little girls have only had a handful of responses and it would be nice if we could round up a few more for them.

Hi - It was a pretty good size jar - you use metric I would say about 500ml. I always imaigined it was like a vegetable powder from the name not mostly a yeast product. When I try it I may be back with some ideas for canapes.
My how times have changed when the conservative charities like a childrens hospital let it all hang out like that.
Of course people would pay me more to cover back up. I always was disgusted with Jerry Lewis when he would be on stage for charity and he could not go 10 minutes without a cigerette and not have a nicotine fit.
But then I am a curmudgeon. Back with some Koala recipies later - that sort of fellow...

Hi Netta, I'm sorry to hear you're still feeling miserable. I figured that's why you weren't about last night. As for the Vegemite, my jury is still out at the moment. But part of the problem may be that I put it on a stale cracker. I'll have to try it again. Pharlap is the one who suggested it with cheese, and Mom is a big cheese eater so it worked out well.
By the way, I have wonderful news! I found out today that my disability denial was overturned and my check has already been cut!!!
That is such a huge relief for us, you have no idea.
Dad is stable, I don't really have any new news yet. He's to go to the bone doctor for his knee tomorrow and the pulmonologist on Friday. Friday will be the pivotal day...

Mouse this is my last post my eyes are closing and I am one pooped pup but I am soooo glad to hear that your check is coming.
Damn their eyes for putting you through so much stuff.
Netta sweetie pie, this cold business is for the birds..lemon juice honey and Hot tea make a fine solution for soothing a dry throat and humidify the air you breath while drinking...maybe a little shot of "something" wouldn't hurt either...a BIG shot of "something" might not help but then
you wouldn't really care...if you catch my drift. Hugs to the late night crew. See you soon. {{{{{Hugs}}}}}

Nope! Got no money until payday so I couldn't go anywhere or do anything. Paying off my credit card quickly is a good thing but sometimes I think I cut it a bit fine!
Went and saw the Mummy Returns on Tuesday. Wasn't that great but it had some nice eye candy in it (BF)

They had a preview for Pearl Harbour when I went and it looked pretty good! It starts here next week but I think I'll wait a little while until the crowds thin out a bit...

MS that is so good you finally got something out of them. I know they act like it is coming out of their pocket. MY Mom would have said worse. Damn their black flabby hearts is about all I can put here. Said while carefully guiding a clean white patch through her pistol barrel for emphatic drama.
Z - I will keep a keetle on the stove to keep the humidity up and put a little clove oil on the water and it helps me breath when I am messed up. My wife is kind enough to limit herself to a few My,My Yes's when the youhg gentlemen look nice. I am not dead yet so I understand.

He was in LA Confidential with Russel Crowe. I don't think you would know the other movies he was in as they are mainly Australian released ones.
He's supposed to have a really good movie coming out soon called 'Momento' (sp?) but I'm not sure when it'll be on.

Hi Gravid! What kills me about the whole thing is a lot of miscommunication or no communication and the simple fact that the disability review company can't read! I cannot even begin to go into what all they've put me through in the last year. Besides giving me a lot of frustration, it makes me sad that they put people through this when they are not well. My brain has been in granny gear for a long time between the pain and the drugs. It's amazing I can keep any of it straight, especially when I have to twist their arm to tell me anything in the first place! Ok, enough griping, it's taken care of for now. (But I still have an urge to send them a bill for all of the late fees I've had to pay because they drag their feet! )
Pharlap, I managed to miss that movie.

Hello everyone, I have survived the dreaded first cold of the season. I lost my voice for almost 2 days, and just pumped lemon juice into myself and cold and flu tablets morning, noon and night. That seems to have done the trick and my voice is back today, not 100% but it is back stronger than it has been for a couple of days at least.
Mouse you asked who Guy Pearce is, well here he is, this is not the best pic of him, but it was all I could come up with for now.

No I don't but it's funny you should mention that company. About a month ago I considered jumping ship and going to work for them (same pay but HEAPS of bonuses and perks). The only reason I didn't was because their call centre is on the North side of Brisbane. If it had been on the South side I would have gone for sure. One of my workmates went to work there though Hoping she can get her job back here now...
One bad thing though - that company is my ISP! Their webpage says trading as normal but I think I'll be shopping for a new ISP soon... Do you know of any good unlimited hours and downloads deals going around? (paying $21.95 at the moment - so it'll be hard to beat )
