That's great news about your son Bob! I wish him well.

You may have a point there Netta about the reference. They may think it's false and that he sat on his behind or something. I mean isn't that the image most people get about the son/nephew that works for the company? (Even if they're the hardest worker.)

I forgot to tell you guys about Charlie's traumatic experiences over the weekend! (I've been really out of it for the past few days, that's why I haven't been in here much.)

She's been favoring one of her paws for a couple of weeks now and everytime we'd try to check it, she'd have a fit. So Mom said she'd lend us the money to take her to the vet. We took her last Friday. She was so spaztic (is that a word?), that they couldn't even take her temperature (not that I blame her on that part! ). So we all decided that they would have to knock her out to do anything. Mind you, she was quite feral when we found her as a kitten and she's never totally grown out of it. So we were to take her back Monday morning. Before we left, I finally got a chance to examine her. She had a wound on her paw. It's a good thing I saw it, that saved us the cost of an x-ray. We took her in, they knocked her out, cleaned up her wound and gave her a shot and sent her home. They said she was not a happy camper, she'd hiss at anyone who walked by her cage. Poor baby. But I tell ya, she sure loved all the extra attention and hugs yesterday!

It's a Kodak DC3400. I got it on sale at Costco, saved $60! Plus it came with an upgraded 32mb card rather than an 8mb and 2 sets of rechargeable batteries with a charger. I can't even imagine how much that saved me! This is going to make my auctions soooo much easier, I'm so excited!

*Edited to add: Thanks to hubby's business credit card, otherwise I wouldn't have it! We just have to pay back the company asap.

Nice shots - I am meeting a friend for breakfast in an hour and he has a sister who is one of those sorts that will come visit for a couple weeks then you have to kick her out or she will just stay forever. She goes into the chat rooms and presents herself as her 13 year old daughter. All she can think about is getting the girl a rich husband so she can live off of them. If she had the talent I think she would just pimp the girl straight away. So sad because the girl knows the Mom is a swine and is stuck with her. If the girl is found by some predator won't that be sweet? She is too self centered and stupid to realize that the person she is talking to may be faking it as much as she is. Of course she thinks she is a genius. Straight quote on that. She has never worked a day in her life
at an actual for pay job.

Hi Gravid, The scenario you describe is sad, scary and sordid. The only bright light is that the daughter is awake to reality and will be on her guard.
On another note, I followed up on your thread a couple of weeks ago regarding firewalls and subsequently installed Zone Alarm.
I don't profess to fully inderstand everything it is doing, but I've been amazed at just how many attempted intrusions take place and where they are coming from.
Thank you for that thread.

Ok, I've been up all night and day again. I found out about free listing day at 4:30am and started working. I've managed to get 22 auctions up and running, starting from scratch (taking pictures, editing pictures, uploading, writing up the ad and posting). There's about an hour and a half left for the free listings and I keep trying to talk myself into getting back to work, but I'm pooped!

Nettak, I lost kazanne's email and need to email her about the package I sent long ago to her (she was my aussie partner). Just wondering if she ever got it? Can you relay a message for her to email me? She sent me a package too (those yummy timtams), but I never received it and I was wondering if she got her package from me? Darn mail..someone is chowing down on MY timtams I think.

Please have her contact me if you see her? (My pc went down awhile back, and I lost everything..including her email addy).

Hi everyone, sorry I have not been around for a couple of days, but I did say that I would not come in very often once we got busy work wise. Anyway I just wanted to pop in and say hello, I am not here for too long because I am tired and think I may fall asleep very soon.

Hepburn, if I get the chance I will phone Kazanne next week and ask her if she has got your parcel. I actually have not spoken to her for a couple of weeks, but that is not so unusual, we normally only talk when her son is staying over at my house or if there is a party ect. Gee I hope the postal workers have not received an extra treat that they should not have.

I sent a parcel to the States weeks ago, and I sent it first class mail, but last I heard a couple of weeks ago it still has not arrived, so after all this time I have the feeling that it is not going to arrive. Makes me really upset because this parcel was for a couple of little girls, and it was to be a holiday treat for them. I really think that some greedy workers may have gotten hold of that particular parcel.

Hello Zilvy, thank you for your emails, I have not forgotten you, and will reply very soon. I promise.

Mouse I had a look at your auctions and they look good. I hope you get heaps of bids.

Where is Pharlap?? Has she got a series of hot dates or what??
Oh lord please don't let her be only working.......I am praying it is a hot date for you Pharlap.

Bob how are the golf games going, are you still winning......I am still looking forward to my dinner date with you later in the year.

b&b - glad to hear you are behind a firewall now. There are all sorts out there looking for something worth stealing. Sorry to say there are some who weven if they don't find anything they want will mess your machine up just to be nasty before moving on. There is also the danger they will use your machine for something like a denial of service attack on a web site or leave behind things the authorities will never believe you did not know were on your machine and blame you for having. This will also prevent information gathering programs that advertisers use from ca;lling home and reporting your viewing habits. I you see a program asking for an OK to call out don't assume it is Ok just because it is outgoing.

You know, I downloaded and installed Zone Alarm and it caused problems on my system. I ended up having to reformat anyway and just left it off. Now if we ever get DSL, I will look into it further and see if I can get it to not cause problems.

Speaking of DSL, our local phone company is running a special right now on it. Free modem, activation and first month. I thought, ok it's time to bite the bullet and get it. I'm tired of trying to work on eBay in the evenings and everyone bugging me to use the phone. Plus I'm tired of my dial-up anyway. So I called to order it and we don't qualify because we're too far from a central office. Oh I am soooo bummed out.

Hi all, I see we must have all been busy little workers of late, because there has not been much of a party happening in here.

Mouse I can understand how you feel about the connection NO GO. We tried to get cable connected a little while ago and found that our house is too far from the road for them to connect. I did try to get them to put a booster box on one of the poles on our property but they said that was too hard. Yeah right, I bet if it was someone of importance to them they could connect the stupid cable. Oh well I am just going to wait for the rival company to start connections in our area, because they have already told me that they should be able to do what I need.

What has everyone else been up too, I have had a few things to do work wise and I have been going to sleep a lot earlier than usual. I seem to be running out of steam really easily these days, guess I must be getting old or something.

(This is for the Aussies.) I saw little Johnnie on Sunday TV and he was going on about being sorry for the trouble the GST has caused small business, he has not got any idea at all as to how much he has hurt this country and the small business owners that contribute to the ecomomy. This was our first real test with how the GST was going to affect the biggest part of our income, and I have to tell you it has hurt us really badly. Oh we are not the only ones I know but when you see a huge portion of your income disappear it is damn hard. We are luckier than a lot of others because we have other forms of income and we have been around for a long time so it is not going to sink us completely, but boy I would love to flush little Johnnie down the loo. I would love to wipe that smug look off the face of Big Kim as well. Let them try to keep a business afloat after what they have done to us. Sorry guys' but I needed to say that.

Hi Netta! Yes, I'm still recovering from FLD. Staying up for 36 hours again did not do my poor body good. Plus my back has been hurting more than usual so went through my last prescription rather quickly. So quickly that the dr. won't give me any more until after the 4th and I am out. Not a happy camper here! And don't laugh, but I actually sprained my right index finger on FLD from taking pictures, the mouse and typing! LOL I still can't believe it myself...

Hello Mouse, I am sorry about your poor finger. Ouch!! I could not get back last night as my line dropped out on me a couple of times, it could have been the storm that went through here, I am not sure. Anyway then when I did get back in, my phone rang and it was a friend that lives in North Queensland and I talked to her for ages.

I can not remember if I told you or not about the client of ours who is an ebayer as well. Anyway she phoned me today just to catch up, it was really nice and I enjoyed talking to her. Once our winter season is over I told her I will have more time and maybe we can hit the sales together or something. LOL

I am feeling a bit low at present, and think I am coming down with a cold again. Well my day is only just starting it is only 7:40 a.m., so I have to go and do some work I guess, and get my daughter moving and ready for work. Hubby left hours ago and the boys are off riding. So let the day begin.

I will try and get back later.

I'm here floating around if anyone pops in!

I'm sitting here feeling the temperature rise since I had to shut off the a/c. It's been working overtime the past few days and is losing it's cooling abilities...again! This is the third time this year we've had to call for service. Last year we didn't have to call at all. It's an old unit and I wish it would just totally die so they'll replace the darn thing! So I shut it off and will leave it off for a couple of hours and pray that it will unfreeze and resume working since we're having a celebration here tomorrow.

We had the hottest day in three years yesterday and it's been downright miserable for several days now. Our highs have been running 114-118F (that's about 45-48C for my Aussie pals ) Needless to say I won't be going outside to go see no stinkin foreworks!

So send me some cool thought will ya?

Hello everyone, today I had some very disturbing things happen in my neck of the woods. When I woke up this morning it was a lovely winters day, the sun was out and although it was a cool early morning, it was the sort of day that makes you feel great to be alive.

When I went outside at about 6:30 am all looked normal, the only thing different was where Greg had removed a couple of little shrubs and he had taken out a section of our houseyard fence. He had to widen it so that trucks could get into our back yard, but apart from that there was no sign of what was to come.............

The day was normal.............

Then the metal monster arrived, the creator or mass destruction........they call it a drott.

It opened it's jaws' and savaged everything in it's path, it took no prisoners, mass murder was on it's mind........my trees were brave, they stood proudly while under attack, but one by one they fell.....they will live in my heart forever.

Hi Pharlap, yes we had the trees cleared from one side out the back to make room for the wood yard. We are moving everything here so that someone is on hand all the time, we do not want to take anymore risks....and this way they have to go past our house to steal anything from us.

They did leave a whole heap of trees standing and although I was sad to see some of the trees fall, I realise that we had to do it for our own peace of mind.

I am off for a couple of hours, my daughter is nagging me to get ready to go out, so I will love you and leave you. I might have some other pictures to post tomorrow, just to show you what my yard looks like now. If anyone is still around later, I will pop back to say hello.

What do ya mean Mouse, you thought something really bad happened. Something really bad did happen, my poor trees bit the dust, they are no more. Kaput, gone, left for dead in a pile. The drott man was eyeing off my most favourite leopard tree, and I had to almost stand in front of it to protect it from those savage jaws'.

A couple of the smaller trees were able to be scooped up with the root system intact and we have transplanted them, so I am hoping like heck that they survive. I had to give up part of my rainforest garden, and now I have to decide where the palms that we have taken out are going to go, I have already moved the crows nest plants and a few other ferns, they are safe and sound now.

Once the gravel comes in for the base of the pad that has just been cut, and I know exactly where I can plant, I will begin putting in new trees. It will be lovely to watch them grown over the years.

Hi Netta! Imeant at least it was a planned thing. But yes, losing your favorite plants is heartwrenching. Remember when my white bougainvilla fell over? Speaking of which, it's growing back! Not only is it growing back, it's growing several inches a day, amazing. I'll try to post a picture or two tomorrow, I'm too tired to do it now. I need to get my behind into gear and get something in place for it to hang onto so it doesn't break again.

Mouse have you got a trellis for the plant to climb on as it grows, or do you need to get one? If you don't have one, this is an easy way of making one. You will need a couple of star picket posts (metal Poles) or maybe just a couple of wooden stakes would do the trick just as well, and some plain fencing type wire, or for that matter even a lighter ply wire would do. Now stand a post on both sides of the bush, and hammer them well into the ground, then run a few strands of wire from side to side, this will give you a cheap and easy trellis for your plant to grow on. You should be able to tie it lightly to the trellis with some old stockings or something else that will not harm the plant itself.

I have a lot of gardening to do now that we have had to create some new garden areas, I tried to get the drott man to shift some mulch for me, but he must have forgotten because it is still in the same pile it was before, so now I will have to shovel and barrow it to where I need it. Oh well I need the exercise I guess, I have put on so much weight lately, and maybe a bit of exercise out in the garden will help me lose some of this unwanted fat. A girl can dream.

It is getting late here and I have work to finish off, so I will talk to you later. Maybe we will all manage to get in here at the same time again sometime soon.

I don't have a trellis, I need to get one. I have a gift certificate for Home Depot I've had for months I've been meaning to use, I just keep forgetting.

It's too bad we didn't all get here the same time tonight. I miss our nights of chatting and having a party. I know we've all been busy and I think I'm finally going back to work next week. I have mixed feelings on that one. But when I do, no more late nights for me, at least during the week. I'll have to be up before I usually go to bed now... I'm off to bed now, I have appointments today. Good night!

Hello everyone, or whoever is next to come in. LOL

What has everyone been up to of late, we almost slipped off the page, and that would have made history for us, or just made a few people happy that we were gone.

I went to a clearing sale this morning at 6 a.m. and nearly froze to death, it was blowing and the frost on the ground was mighty cold. Anyway I got a couple of small items but nothing to write home about. When I was on my way home I decided to call in on a garage sale and I did get a couple of real bargains there, I still can not believe my luck........but I guess that is the way things work sometimes. You just have to be in the right place at the right time to get a good deal. I have been taking pictures this afternoon and was trying to load them but AW is having a problem with that pop up thingo and it is a big pain in the butt, so I have not loaded all my pictures yet.

I am not here for long because I need to get some rest before the baby wakes up, he is being a really good boy for Aunty Netta and is asleep, he had his dinner and finished his bottle and after a bit of coaxing he went to sleep. I bet he wakes up at 1 or 2 in the morning. He is just beautiful now because he is smiling and starting to laugh, I think he smiles and gurgles at me all the time because he thinks I am his mother. I have noticed that he turns his head if he hears my voice. I have never thought that my sister and I have the same sort of voice, but I think the little one seems to recognise something about me that is the same as his mother.

I have not got around to taking anymore pictures of our back yard after the devastation of the other day, but I will get to it sometime soon so that I can show you what is happening around here.

Mouse do you know yet when you are going back to work, or don't you have a starting date yet??
