I would like to slap Martha Stewart. UGH!
Can't watch anything with Robin Williams.
Also, Chris Matthews, Jay Leno, and Richard Simmons.

I stopped watching Oprah when she booted a woman out of her audience BEFORE the show started, because the woman said to the friend next to her too loudly (someone told Oprah) that she didnt know what all the fuss was about with Michael Jordan, and he was that days guest but hadnt even appeared yet. Oprah came out and commenced to say EVERYONE should LOVE Jordan and if this woman didnt agree, to get out of her studio and she had the security people lead the woman out. The woman wasnt rude, or obnoxious..she just said she didnt know what the fuss was. She was crying as she was led out, too. Since then, its HER way (Oprahs) or the highway. I took the highway and refuse to watch her show now.

The most ANNOYING thing is gay jokes!
Also-every show has a gay person. There are more gay people on T.V. than in real life.

Ditto on Kathie Lee.

kept2much -

On TV, it's just the soap-opera's in general that bug me. It's the stupid, fake, romantic-innuendo scenes......where everyone want to "make love". I'm so sick of hearing that phrase!! "Go finish the dishes, then we'll make love", or "slip into something sheer, then we'll make love", or "this soup reminds me of the first time we made love"........geez!!....go volunteer or something!!

Spaz, Spaz, Spaz....slow down young man you are gonna have a seizure. This is definitely your kind of venting thread, now I have to ask and of course you don't have to answer, but, I have a friend who has a take on life much like yours. She has the biggest heart in the world and would do anything for a friend (first you have toearn the title...however, she has more dislikes than likes she happens to be a LEO are you? Only curious because of the similiarities that I have seen in the months I've been around the RT.

I'm going to assume that is some kind of joke.

SPAZ: HOW can you not like ED?!?!

Somebody was asking about music on commercials....I saw a late night ad for a CD that has a bunch of "commercial music". I *think* it was 'original' commercial music (not music that was swiped for a commercial).

Im not sure which car commercial it is, but I really LOVE the beat to the music. This black car is toodling down a side street in New Orleans I think, and its raining. The windshield wipers keep beat, the men unloading boxes from a truck keep beat, the basketball dribbler on the street keeps beat. Cool song.

I also like the A&E song.

All talk show hosts.

News Anchors.

Most of TV bites.

Al D'Amato could get pretty entertaining on CSPAN.

Who is Dr. Phil?

Zilvy, are you trying to imply Leos (such as myself) are critical???

hepburn,

It was a spot for VW.

Say, why is it the average viewer can see promos for upcoming shows and know instinctively they're going to bomb, yet programming executives can't? I predicted the demise of The Geena Davis Show, Bette, and The Fighting Fitzgeralds, to name a few, without seeing even one episode. My latest nominee for cancellation is the upcoming sitcom Schwartz on Sports, which hasn't aired yet. I also think the new show Alias, a blatant ripoff of La Femme Nikita's premise, will tank.

Femme, I dont work for the National Inquirer (inquiring minds DONT want to know). After thinking about it, it could have been Magic Johnson. Its been a long time, so cant remember exactly. I do know it was a basketball player and one of those two. There has to be SOMEONE here who saw that particular show and remembers. Someone? Anyone? You know when Oprah first comes out and greets her guests...yaks a bit, waves at them, talks about what the show is about, etc? Thats when it happened. I must say I was shocked myself. Made me see another side of her I didnt like seeing.

Snowy, Dr Phil is Oprahs "in house" know-it-all.

Forgot to say thanks, Spaz, for the VW info.

I think I will go see if I can get irritated for a few hours (all in the name of research, you understand). I will be back later with my findings. (Hmmm...thursday night. Wonder what topic I will be blessed with on some tv show that I can hurry back and share?)

The "Commotion" song from the Mitsubishi
commercial is by the band "The Wiseguys", the CD is "The Antidote", and the track is "Start a Commotion." I have a friend addicted to that song.

Just about anybody on FOX News. But the most obnoxious, self-serving, lying, cretin of all: Bill O'Reilley (sp?). Almost a tie: the guy with the big head - also on Fox News.

Uh, hepburn, I never thought you worked for the National Enquirer.

Are you saying you were privy to the Oprah pre-show? Do you have a satellite dish?

------

As for Dr. Phil "tell is like it is" McGraw...I like him and his style.

I prefer an "in-your-face" psychologist to one who enables a patient's woe-is-me attitude.

Just my opinion, of course, but it seems to me that people who continue to play the victim are comfortable in that role.

Personally, it took me 16 months of wallowing before I realized I was not comfortable in that role. Had never allowed myself to be put in that role before, and won't allow myself to be put in that role again.

------

My apologies for derailing your thread.

Femme, never speaking to someone like Dr Phil nor needing to, I have no clue about the different ways one helps another with "ailments". I know he and I would just bump heads if face to face, lol.

The pre shows of Oprahs were common "back then". Dont know if she still does it now, as I dont watch her anymore (unless I happen to be surfing and click on it for a short period of time). Nope, no dish. Wished I did!
