Bad actors seem to have a single role at which they excell. David Duchovny, for instance. He did outstanding as Agent Fox Mulder of the FBI in the X-Files, but can't a single line anywhere else I've seen him.
George Clooney is another who is a horrible actor -- except for the two Batman movies that he did. While Micheal Keaton did his usual outstanding portrayal as Batman in the first two movies, George Clooney did superbly well as the non-psychotic Batman in the last two. I think that this will always be his one role that he was ever any good at.

Yes, Tom Cruise, in Magnolia, was outstanding! If you doubt his potential, check out the scene where he stares down a formidable woman who is interviewing him. He actually unnerved me with that scene.
Love Jeremy Irons, too, especially as Claus. John Cusack, Kevin Spacey, Benicio del Torro, Colin Firth (such eye candy...check him out as Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice), Denzel (duh!), Tom Hanks...so many that have already been mentioned.
I think Phillip Seymour Hoffman is shaping up to be one of the big character actors of my generation.

I can't stand Julia Roberts.
I know she is the most highly paid actress these days and some magazine voted her (along with Oprah) as having alot of clout but every part she plays seems to be the same character... she always has to do that wide mouth surprise shriek-laugh. Like the one in Pretty woman when 'what's-his-face' suddenly shuts the jewel box and nearly snapped her fingers.

Julia Roberts. Yuk!
She did almost okay in Erin Brakovich [sic], but makes me gag in any other film I've mistakenly purchaed a ticket for without checking to see if her name is on the list. In fact, they ought to pass a ruling that the name Julia Roberts and the word 'actor' not be used in the same sentance.

I love Julia Roberts, I personally think she's an excellent actress. One of my favorites is Sleeping With The Enemy. She was also very good in Erin Brochavich. I think I've seen all of her movies actually.
Mr. Julia Roberts, Benjamin Bratt. He was already out of his depth in Law & Order.
You'll all be thrilled to know that Brittney Spears has hired a screenwriter to write a movie for her. She has also contracted Dan Ackroyd to play her character's father in the movie (despite that the movie hasn't been written yet).
In other uplifting news, Sean "Puffy" Coombs, a.k.a. Puff Daddy also has a movie in the works.

Spaz, I was surprized. I heard that the other day and I couldn't believe it! Who gives a s**t about Brittney Spears upbringing and live story? Has she changed the world that we live in for the better? Does she rank up there with Gandi, Martin Luther King Jr., Mother teressa that she should have her life story made into a movie?
All Brittney Spears has is looks and that'll be gone in time and she'll be replaced. What a serious waste of Mylar.

[I listed a few of my favorite character actors because the list of A actors was too large. I will list one A actor because he's been overlooked. To me he might be one of the most under rated actors. Jeff Bridges, he's had some great roles Bad Company, Tucker, Fearless, The Fisher King, Arlington Road, The Big Lebowski (I loved him as Lebowski), etc.
He has worked with some of my favorite directors, The Coen Brothers, Coppola, Peter Weir, Terry Gilliam.
The grubby sweater Jeff wore in The Fisher King and The Big Lebowski was auctioned off on eBay. That was a item I'd have liked to owned.

Matt Damon. Can't stand him. Has ONE acting mode..brooding. My nightmare movie would be Jack Nicholson & Matt Damon in the same movie.
My husband can't stand Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock or Meg Ryan.
Just watched Bruce Willis in "Unbreakable". Thought I'd die of boredom before it ended.
Love Sean Connery in almost anything. John Cusack is very versatile. Also like John Malkovich.
Used to enjoy Kevin Costner but most of his stuff is junk these days.
If you didn't think Scary Movie needed a sequel..have you heard they are making a sequel of American Pie. Oh yippee.
