Participants in SurplusAuction need to be careful of what they are bidding on. Often the low prices are for things that have been refurbished. I have recently purchased a refurbished Kodak Digital camera and a Sharp 8mm ViewCam. While the digital camera is great, the ViewCam isn't working at all. With only a 30 day warrenty, I need to get it in to an authorized repair station quick. Fortunately, there is one close by but in checking Sharp's web page for authorized dealers this may not be the case for others. I knew I was taking a chance when I bid on the camera and I lost the gamble. The important thing is to be aware of what you are bidding on and asses the risk accordingly.
